I usually dont harden her. From an RP point of view when I romanced her on my HN, he didnt think killing was a good thing, and instead told her that she is a good person.

Yeah I haven't hardened her yet either. I'm kind of curious about it, but the chars I play usually aren't really manipulative so it comes off kind of ooc to me. I'll probably give it a try eventually.R-F wrote...

That's my problem. Feels forced. And, I like her sweet.Axekix wrote...

So, Leli remains a sweety, then.

If I remember I used the line "you shouldn't punish yourself for doing something you enjoy" or something.

^ You don't have to say that to harden her, it isnt as 'strict' as the Alistair hardening.

Heh, my Cousland isn't a fan of that line either. She doesn't believe Leliana enjoys killing THAT much, so no hardening.

love/lust of the kill, the intrigue, the seduction, and excitement of
being a Bard/Spy/Assassin.
Her retreat to the Chantry was her
fleeing from herself. She fled from one extreme to the other. Unless
you just outright refuse her from the start, she basically
forces/manipulates her way into the party. She is 'dying' to get out of
there and be who she really is. *Wink*

Eh... If you ascribe to the rape theory that's not necessarily true.Meliorist13 wrote...
Un-hardened Leliana is a lie. She frightens herself with her own
love/lust of the kill, the intrigue, the seduction, and excitement of
being a Bard/Spy/Assassin.
Her retreat to the Chantry was her
fleeing from herself.

Rape seems to be a commonality in Ferelden. The Orlesians do it freely apparently, The humans subject the elves to it, The humans who were cursed by Zathrian (sp?) were raped, according to Swiftrunner, by the Dalish.
However, this is a touchy subject, so I care not to delve into it further. I do see your point.

Unhardened Leliana: "I'm an innocent pure being of heaven who farts rainbows and cuddles with teddy bears."
Hardened Leliana: "I'm a cruel, bloodthirsty assassin who will slice up an innocent peasant with my daggers. Or i'll have sex with the peasant and steal his things. Or both."
