The viper, because of the need to fire lots of shots and expose yourself is a bad weapon for the sniper infi. The incisor is good, but due to the recoil it's hard to get all shots on the head, so is again a bad choice.

Mantis then Widow are the sniper rifles made for OHKO.
Viper is not useless though. Having a large clip means that its more forgiving on a miss. So if you're not that skilled at sniping, you may be more comfortable with Viper. I have no idea about Incisor, I don't have it. Since it has a 3-round clip Im guessing its halfway between mantis and viper.

I play one as a techie first, and sniper second.
I.e. I'll get Incineration Blast early, then Squad Cryo, then work on cloak and passive.
Sure, I'll snipe a lot, 'cos long range shooting is convenient.
I usually don't bother cloaking, though.
Most of the time, it's a lot of area of effect defense stripping, then a CC effect (ammo or pull or whatever), then 2 bursts from the smg to finish 'em off.
When I break out the rifle, it's often a case of preferring not to OHKO ... and use the target (which is off to one side) for a warp bomb, and follow up with an incineration blast on as many targets on the floor as I can get .. switching to the smg while the fire is en route ... to spray ice at burning people on the floor.
'cos it's funny.
So .. the way I play, viper is perfectly cool.
Though I prefer to take the viper on armour-heavy missions, and the mantis/widow on shield/barrier heavy missions.
Just 'cos the heavy hitting rifles are ever so satisfying when they tear off massive chunks of armour.
Edit:
That probably makes no sense .. but by massive chunks of armour I mean mechs, gunships, scions, etc. rather than the waste of space like vorcha or varren.

try them all: viper/incisor/mantis/widow.
the viper its good but not really that good, u might miss some headshots after the first 3 bullets.

if i have to choose between the two ill go with the widow, its superior in every aspect.

I dont think you need headshots when taking down shields, no? Just batter the barrier/shield away rapidly and then concentrate on headshots?

infiltrator? not a good fit. widow definitely works better with the one-shot one-kill playstyle.

Isn't that a bit odd? I mean, Viper has a bonus vs shields and barriers, while Mantis/Widow have more bonus vs armour...
Maybe, but like I said .. sniper rifles aren't my main weapon.
The main purpose of using the viper like that is to spam down armour & freeze 'em.
That is, I don't actually shoot armour except when it's too heavy to one-shot with incinerate .. and I'll use the pistol up close anyway.
While on shield and barrier heavy missions, I mainly use the SMG .. and just snipe opportunistically.

Sniper shots also knock back enemies so the rapid fire of the viper will keep most enemies stunned while you unload on them.
This. Also scoping in, popping a few slo-mo shots then rescoping to get more slo-mo shots is a nice and effective way of keeping fast, accurate headshots coming with the Viper.

I hate the Viper. I hate, hate, hate the Viper. It may be my least favorite weapon in the game. It has all the disadvantages of a sniper rifle and the damage output of a friggin' water balloon.
I hate the viper on an infiltrator, but absolutley love it on a solider. During an adrenaline rush, the viper is a killing machine.

I guess you also think the Carnifex hits like a wet noodle...

See link in sig ... haven't actually watched them, so I'm only 95% sure they work properly.
In the process of processing Kasumi's mission as mission 7 ... with the Shuriken. 'cos I don't like the Locust. Well, actually, I just don't like the way it sounds. Haha.

not really seeing as the widow is described as anti-material, it's all about the weapon description
as for that guy who hates the viper why ? the weapon may not be a one-shot killer but it shreds through eniemies rather quicky...although the widow still overshadows this weapon

The Viper is bascially a very rapid-firing Carnifex with zoom.

I like your Infiltrator videos. It's refreshing to see someone play Infiltrator kind of like I do.
I just prefer the Viper in almost every situation. Not big on one-shots because a shot missed is like losing a son

I probably should edit their description to show which squadmates I took, though. I think I'll do that sometime later, maybe after I upload the Kasumi videos.
For instance, I took Mordin + Jack on Grunt's recruitment, 'cos I think they work really well together ...

I dislike it on my Infiltrator, but find it a very solid addition to my arsenal on any other class.
