Purely on my own opinion, most girls would get a better kick out of it, with the various romances and roleplaying. But, there should be no reason why your wife is better at it. Perhaps you just suck?

So you're drawing a conclusion based on the evidence of... one man and one woman?

No one said it was a good conclusion.

Men are of course better. Its not that women are all bad... they just arnt "built" for gaming so to speak.
Its the extra appendage we can use for mashing attack keys that make us better!

Uh... yeah.  Okay.  I don't want to see your keyboard.

For the record, my girlfriend can come close to kicking my ass at Quake Live, and I've been playing PC shooters all my life.

I assure you the extra appendage makes you a better player

How dearly I'd like to see that, you hitting all those buttons with the extra appendage! :wizard:

On second thought, maybe not......

*disappears back into the kitchen*

it is both a gift and a curse... the game gets much tougher on certain fights... like broodmother where our extra appendage is left useless and spongey

I believe the O.P. did imply just that, in fact.  Why people feel the need to perpetuate this myth is beyond me... Everyone is different; moving on...

As an experienced gamer for the last 20 some odd years or so... wait more then that, but anyways, gender has NO role in how good a person is at a game, although it can help if your opponant is online and arguing about if your male or female and not focusing on avoiding your bullets XD

Its the different play styles, what your most familiar with, etc that dictate how good you are at a game initially.

I'm better at Dragon Age than my husband is, but I think that is because I spend more time playing it than he does. He likes it, but doesn't get totally immersed in the story like I do, so it doesn't hold as much replay value for him as it does for me.

I am the best player in the world. I am male. Therefore, males > females.

OK, I don't think that's appropriate to say. Maybe you feel that way, but keep your opinions such as this one to yourself. Do know that your message will be seen by many, and many among them, will take offence.

I think you are correct that what I said is offensive... You must realize that it is only offense to women. Men should not care about women's feelings. As a matter of fact, women should not be able to use a computer. Only men, whose brains can take up complex tasks should be able to use a computer. I believe women should stick to operating microwaves, owens, stoves, and the fridge. <_<

What I realize is not important here. I have given you my advice of keeping your opinions to yourself, what you do after that is of your own accord.

Women are always second to men. That is not only a factual statement but it is a law. Women belong in the kitchen and the bedroom. I am surprised that women are allowed to play video games. Video games were created by men for men. Women are inefficient at anything other than activities that are involved in the kitchen and the bedroom. After all, it wasn't Adam who first ate the fruit, it was Eve, a women.

Great post!

Oh, no... gaming skills are based on gender? :(

That means I shouldn't be beating games in half the time or effort it takes my brother because males are better "programmed" to sit on their butts and mash buttons and so forth. Ah, yes. I'm going to go into the kitchen and do something... female-ish. :D

LOL "Boys are better at [games] than girls...!" o_O

In some cases sarcasm is hard to detect, but in this case I think it was laid on heavily enough to be pretty blatantly obvious.  It's ok, though, your responses made it even funnier.

Heh, I'm female. My default play level for ME (1) was hardcore, whereas in DA:O it's easy. (I've just graduated to normal, to be honest. First time I did the Deep Roads on normal, I ran out of injury kits and had to backgrack all the way from the mother, back out of Orzammar and to the Dalish to buy more elfroots. Pain in the bum). Reason is I'm more interested in the RP aspects of and cba to micromanage, buff people with salves and whatnot. I have far less patience now than when I was young.

I remember years ago my old boyfriend bought Elite Plus for our PC. "You won't like this," he said, "you'll never be able to dock."

Red rag to bull. Turned out I was pretty awesome at docking. I reached Elite status far sooner than he did.
