This. Gender has absolutely nothing to do with it other than the way people are bought up.Stabby McGoodstab wrote...

This ..I would imagine this to be the most true.

Just the opposite for me. I play DA:O on hard by default and ME 1 & 2 on normal. The interface for DA is much more intuitive for me than the interfaces for ME & 2. Plus, I can't shot well enough to hit the broadside of a barn and drive the Mako like a drunken monkey. Just for our sexist poster, I love to drive sports cars and am much better at it than my husband. However, I am a slob and my husband is better at keeping house than I am. So I say to thee evil male, get thee a broom, a swifter duster, and a Shamwow and all will become clear!
I am playing on hard mode, and I keep checking options, because sometimes I think it has switched default to easy...lol. So maybe I need to step it up a notch and play the next level up.

heyyyyyy don't lump all guys together like that I actually use my brain for thinking you don't see me saying women's thinking ablities are complicated by that PMSGithCheater wrote...
The extra appendage would be an advantage for males playing video games ... but men also use that appendage for the majority of their thinking and reasoning abilities.

My husband and I both are gamers. We met in an online game, a shooter type and there it was very competitive. He of course would always get much better scores than me because for me it was a social game, I went and joined a clan and played for the craic and the chat. If I had the opportunity to kill someone or chat to them I would chat, lol.
So that was me. But there were many really high scoring women playing that game, wow they were fiercesome!!
So I found in that environment that it was fairly balanced, definitely a personality thing, some are more competitive than others. I played sport (lol) and was always the one at the back of the field chatting to the goaly.
Now I play dragon age for fun in a non-competive way. I have played through it many times at every difficulty but I get more pleasure playing it with different clothes/armours on or with different mod weapons. My husband plays different games but replays them at the hardest levels he can.
So a poll to see how many people play competively would give a very good idea about male/female competiveness because I notice many males here in this forums are more about the social and fun too. I guess just as many women like to play for the challenges as does my husband.

Just curious, since DA:O is the first 'modern' PC game my wife got herself involved in, she turned out to be a natural at it despite me being a BG fan and all - and still got my butt kicked back in 1.00. At first I thought as my character was a 2H warrior and hers as a DW city elf, that the classes were imbalanced, then she proved me wrong when she made a 2H build.
In Mass Effect 2 it seems the complete opposite, she is happy with playing through on normal difficulty, while I finished 4 insanity runs so far. Guess having shooter experience pays off. But then again, having my BG gaming skills in DA:O didn't pay off at all. And I start to wonder, if women are just better at this type of game.
Your thoughts?
Gender doesn´t matter there at all.
Also, dual wield warriors ARE way OP and a lot easier to play than 2h warriors, even if your wife turned out to be better than you with 2h, too.
