Ah Fable and Peter. Will this revolutionize the world like your other Fable games?

o.0 I am laughing so hard right now, but also a little scared at the same time - will there be custody battles, too?

*Sighs*

This is somewhere between depressing, creepy, and hilarious.

I was thinking the same thing. In Fable 2 if you got a divorce CPS took the kids and you never saw them again. What happens if you break ties with the mama or daddy? Does Microsoft hold them hostage or what?

Well... this is uh... interesting. I guess? -.-

Fighting over custody might be mildly amusing. Of course when I think of fighting for custody in Fable, I imagine a death duel with arms and spells; not a trial. ;)

Anyone want to make a wager on how long it takes for this to be used for some kind of in game prostitution?

LOL, wonder if we can adopt out our unwanted offspring to unfortunate gamers who have no one to procreate virtually with?

Like a virtual orphanage? The Marketplace would be the place to hit for that.

I'm totally getting this now.

Just seems really.....wierdImage IPB.  And I don't see the point.
Just release a new game called Fable 3: Dating and Sex Simulator.  Maybe I just don't understand......but it will probably sell really well.

I'll be getting Fable3 anyway, husband and son have played 1 and 2 and beaten them both (I dabbled with 2 but haven't finished it) but I can honestly say that if they *DO* have an actual feature where you can sell children on the marketplace I'll **** out my character, but otherwise will probably only procreate with my hubby's avatar for the achievement I'm sure will be attached to the process.

No doubt Molyneux (sp?) has said that this is the greatest idea in the gaming history and it will revolutionalize how we play games in the future?

I'm sure he has. Didn't he say the same about our Item Finder Dog?

I'm with you Sar. My boyfriend doesn't have a 360 so I can't do it that way but my friends from college can help. :P

Yes He did say something about the dog revolutionizing RPG's or something ridiculous like that.

Overstatement of the year. I wonder if Fable 3 will allow dog breeding amongst players dogs?

Well he says this every year about everything he does, doesn't he?  I'm pretty sure to him, every game he creates is a masterpiece.  The last game he was involved in that I thought was anygood was "The Movies".

i think Fable III has been stripped from its RPG title and is now just an 'Adventure game'. I just hope my hero doesnt get fat half way through because he ate too many health potions.

I've been a gamer for 20 years now and it seems to be Peter has been promising the holy grail almost since the day I got my first gaming plattform.

One thing I will give him is that he has great ideas. Sometimes. But the execution so far as *always* fallen well short of what was promised. So yea. He stopped fooling me a long time ago. Some of his games are fun, others aren't, but they're hardly as revolutionary as he'd like.

The problem is his implementations is everything is a gimmick and doesn't really add any depth in the game. No gave a flying !@#$ about their family in Fable 2 because they were just generic NPCs with no personality whatsoever, I didn't particularly care if they lived or died, because it was just as easy to bang any of the various bland NPCs you came across.

Compare this to people's reactions to the romance subplots in Dragon Age or Mass Effect. You aren't going to see "Random NPC Chick #8213 for Fable 3" banners anywhere. So what if the can romance anyone in the game? None of them are actually interesting enough to care if I can romance them or not.

Throw these cheap gimmicky systems in with bland game play and you have a thoroughly mediocre game. Here's a tip Peter: We have to be interested in your game world for it to be engaging on any level.

Yep....when you've got nothing new to offer sell it with Gimmicks.  That is what pissed me off about Fable 2.  Weak story, same recycling of Fable 1 but with a few added gimmicks = BOOOORRRIING.

Well said cynicalsaint1.

Here’s another if you all hadn’t seen it. I was only reminded of it after talking to Darht. Clothes were so important in the second that MORE focus has been put on them in the third.

Yay...A ButlerImage IPB.  I am actually becoming angrier as I read these articles.

Molynieux:  Let's throw in some more gimmicks and we will call it "depth".  Stupid gamers didn't realize all the depth of Fable 2 because they didn't change their clothes....we'll show them...this time we'll have a butler and also a caddy who can carry around your weapons and remind you which ones you haven't used yet.

This will revolutionize gaming as we know it!

.....ugh....garbageImage IPB

That is a ridiculous gimmick even for Molyneux. Mind you, I like the idea of clothing options. I'm a clothes horse, so the idea of regular wardrobe changes is neat to me. I just don't see it as something they should be focusing effort into in an RPG. I never played the Fable games. Reading about them was enough to convince me they weren't worth bothering with. But I still find it sad that each iteration seems less story driven than sandbox. I play RPGs to meet interesting characters participating in a story they pull me into. Not play dress up or birth children I probably won't feel any attachment to anyway. After all, there is no real dialogue in Fable. Maybe I can fart at them to show disapproval or cheer to convey love? Bah. -.-

Too bad too, in any other game I may have been intrigued by more clothing options.

It might be a virtual Demon child.  Come to think of it that is likely what Fable 3 will be....the demon child of 1 and 2.
