I know there are already posts about this, but since i tryed all the possible outcomes with several reloads and i read all the posts about it, i think i can summarize a solution to help players not being annoyed.

Problem: when you enter the silverite mine you are stripped of all your equipment (by game design) and you should get it back before leaving the mine. Unfortunately there's a bug by wich in some circumstances your main PC is not getting back his equipment FOREVER.

How to avoid:

1: SAVE GAME BEFORE ENTERING SILVERITE MINE

2: After the cutscene you can find yourself in one of these 3 situations
    a) You and your party are wearing clothes, and ALL of your inventory is gone (except plot items). This is the lucky case, the game is working. You can go on playing and you will get back all your equipment.
    B) You and your party are wearing clothes, no one has anything equipped, but things in your inventory are not gone (potions, gifts, non equipped weapoms and armor, etc). Bad situation, you are going not to see again PC equipment
    c) Your companions are wearing clothes, but PC is naked and it's still wearing jevelry. Also items in inventory are not gone. Bad situation again, you are not going to see PC equipment again.

In Situation a), during the cutscene, the background is lightned (sign that the game is working correctly)
In Situation B) or c), during the cutscene, the background is dark (sign that the bug is occurring)

If situation B) or c) happen to you, don't bother to go on, just reload the game you saved before entering the mine, unequip all your PC items and put in the inventory, and try again. If After unequipping all your items, you still find yourself in situation B) or c), reload the savegame, go to vigil's keep, put all the items you care in storage chest, equip your PC with armor/weapons/jewelry you don't care to loose, go back to silverite mine, and just go on playing. If your items will be lost, you have your better equipment in vigil's keep.

If the game is working (situation a), you will find your equipped items on the fourth "Experimental subject", and all the items in your inventory in a chest near the merchant near the end of the dungeon. If the bug is occurring, you won't encounter the fourth "experimental subject" at all, and the mentioned chest will be empty.

There are some items that, if equipped before entering the mine, seems to trigger the bug. But in my experience the bug occurred also with none of that items equipped, and in some cases with some of that items in the inventory. In other circumstances having some of the following items equipped did not trigger the bug, so don't take the following list as granted.

Honnleath helm
Key of the city ring
Andruill's Blessing
Ring of the Dawn
Spellweaver sword
Harvest ring
Lifegiver Ring

It seems that even if some of your party members have some of these items equipped the bug is occurring. It also seems that if you and your party members only wear equipment from DA:Awakening, and no item from DA:Origins or any DLC/Promotional are neither equipped nor in the inventory, the bug is not going to happen.

I hope this helps new awakening customers, and also i hope that BW releases a patch to fix this and the MANY MORE bugs that came with patch 1.03

I was hit with this bug ©, although only one ring remained equipped (Lifegiver). I was almost about to give up until I decided to use the toolset to get all my gear back without redoing the mine.

Uuuuggghhh, this happened to me too, no experiment subject spawned for me; and of course all 4 auto-saves were after the critical cutscene. Honestly, that's just terrible. Really makes me feel confident investing in more DLC... really.

At least in my personal experience, when it bugged out, reloading and trying again (without changing anything equipment-wise) fixed it.

Strange, I've run through the expansion twice with imported characters and they both had the Key of the City, Lifegiver, Anduril's Blessing, and The Spellward equipped, but did not encounter this problem; I did not import them with Spellweaver or any of the Prisoner of Stone items, however.

I have encountered the bug (situation c) in my first playground with only Harvest Festival Ring from your list. Unequipping the ring did not solve the problem (in opposition to unequipping everything that solved it).
I highly suspect that Keening Blade could also be one of the items that are responsible of the bug as it is a class specific sword (unfortunately I did not keep a save to test what happens if I keep only the Keening Blade equipped).

Fortunately I had a save before visiting the Wending Woods, fired DA up with console enabled, stripped my character down to nothing but the Keening Blade, and killallhostiles'd my way up to the mines. Result: Keening Blade, by itself, did not cause situations b or c to occur. Took 13 minutes, all in all.

It seems that the items your pc wears are not the trigger for the bug, becouse some players with the incriminated items does not experience the bug. Maybe the trigger is a combo of 2 or more of those items. I don't bother to test since it's not my job and bioware should. And Yes, the toolset would fix this, but is it fair that we have to use a toolset to fix a bug for a not-so-cheap expansion? Going on with awakening i am encountering sooo many bugs i am getting disgusted.

I don't want to be a whiner, but awakening in my experience is unplayable, and i am not talking of game design/plot choiches i would have made different, but BUGS.

For instance now i have Velanna unplayable (i recruited her for last and i have no option to make her become a grey a warden), Sigurd personal quest not triggering 'cos i did Amaranthine quests before recruiting her, stealing broken, several quests i have completed at vigil's keep are not completed in my journal, i can't craft decent runes, the merchants did not get the upgrades after i have recruited the 2 additional merchants, cannot enter the magazine for anders side quest, and some more i can't actually remeber...

If you're playing the PC version, there's little reason not to save often. Despite quick saving continuously, I never overwrite hard saves, and I make sure to save manually relatively often. I just finished Awakening with 179 save files.

Despite having a save just before entering the mine, and several more during the mine, I still couldn't be bothered to redo it all again. I used the toolset to copy/paste my equipment from an older save (just before being imprisoned), but that still requires a relatively recent save file.

Lol 179 saves. I have an SSD, so that's not gonna happen.

Wish I had read this before getting all the way to the end and realizing I was totally boned. Sigh. Guess I gotta redo the last 3 hours or so... /cry

Fixing this bug is still not on the list of "what 1.04 patch will fix", just FYI.

Once you know about it, there are ways to avoid it. The problem is how many people who don't know about it keep getting bitten by it: which is why I say it should be a very high priority for bugfixing.

I just went through the mines. Just started playing awakening since patch 1.04 is finally out. Didn't realize till I got to the end of the mine that my gear is gone for good. At least I save constantly, but no, I don't really want to go through the mines again. It was fun the first time but sheesh.

9 months later and this bug still exists, and the game still does all 4 auto-saves *after* you enter the mine. Grrr.

Ouch, this it the 4th or 5th time I am playing this and the 1st time this (scenario B) happened. I liked my character, but I would have to reload a save from about 2 days ago and I don't think I'll bother. It really bugs me when stuff like this happens. Customers who pay for the game should not have to go through elaborate work arounds for the game to work.

There's a fan-made patch that fixes this, try the Projects section here or DA Nexus. IIRC it's character and/or class specific items that trigger the bug if equipped.

GOOD LORD....

I wish I knew about this sooner...now I'm ****ed...the helm, rose's thorn (which took me AWHILE to get by the way), key to the city...all gone...I think I won't be going through with the game again.. Just gonna waste my time replaying a hard save which was about 10 hours prior....**** this.

I just had this happen to me. Don't have a recent game save (hours of gameplay). Quick saved in the mine.

God, I wish I knew about this. Now I'm downloading the toolset and going to put the Sentinal armor back in. Thats the only one I really want back.

I got through this fine (thankfully). What i don't like, is that I can't go back in to finish the quest for the wedding ring. That, and apparently I left without getting the dragon egg.

Thankfully I've been through this part of the game twice, and not encountered the bug. Even though I had Spellweaver in my inventory and the Lifegiver equipped on my main character. I though this glitch only be triggered a certain way? Like screwing something up in the quest for the Wending Wood, about trying to enter the Silverite Mines too early or something... I forget where I heard that before.
