how is it it any more pretentious for any of the trailers of the first two games?

I enjoyed it...thought it was well done, and actually makes me want to get back in.

That said...I enjoyed the first game alot, but never really got into the 2nd for some reason. Maybe it was the ridiculous amount of vehicle missions? Could have been that we STILL didn't get to fight a Brumak. Could have been that they over did the terrible one liners.

My question is why Chris Priestly is so interested in it?

I find it concerning that people are interested in Gears of War now because there is a female cog.

Remember people that this is Gears of War. The game where their big attempt at writing a story made just as much sense as the online did (which was no sense at all if you never played it's online feature) They added a bunch of characters just to pretty much kill them all off and leave the original team still there. Seriously? That was it?

Whenever Gears of War got fun they would insert something to remind you that the EPIC is nothing but a bunch of 13 year olds in grown men's bodies. I'm sorry but I'm not even going to buy to see what happens. Not only will I probably correctly guess what will happen two chapters ahead but It'll be a 60 dollar beta in terms of online play. I learned my lesson with GoW2 and I'll pass. Especially since now I have Battlefield Bad Company for my online needs.

Meh. The trailer seemed pretty generic, and can't even remotely compare to the Mad World one.



I'm still waiting for someone to make a game that actually has the same feel as that Mad World trailer. As much as I have no interest in Gears of War, that trailer is probably my favorite game trailer ever.

A trailer about nothing for a game about nothing. Trailer for the original GOW was okay though, only because of the weepy song. But this one is only interesting because we a see a girl with a chainsaw gun in "only-boys-fight" game universe.

I thought the GoW 2 trailer was pretty cool. But in terms of best game trailer, ME2 still takes it for me. I never got so hyped for a game in just one trailer.

I'm all for cinematic trailers (I LOVED the ME2 Launch trailer), but this trailer is just the same old crap. I really liked Gears 1, Gears 2 was meh (pretty much the same thing) and at this point, I'd only play it just to know the end of the story.

As a trailer, I liked it. They took an action sequence and put forth the feeling that the moment was about more than blood and death, which is good.


On a side note- I'm a PS3 gamer, so I could care less about the game. I liked the trailer though.

Anyway I liked the trailer. Probably the best one visually, a great song too, though a more dark/sad song couldve made it better. Still don't know why people think the first game's trailer is better. :/

no one whinges about how much of a sausage fest black hawk down was, because lets face it, it was awesome. gears doesnt need a female char, however im all for it. trailer gives impression that this is humanity's last stand which is pretty cool

Possibly, but I tend not to play online multiplayer. But if/when I do get them, I'll give it a go of course.

Get Gears of War 1 for the PC. It includes bonus chapters that are unavailable on xbox including a Brumak fight.

Thought the trailer was good. As far as the actual game goes I think the 4 player co-op will be cool, though I hope they scale the difficulty so the more human players the harder it is. Not sure about following 2 different squads though, I really liked Delta Squad and the character there in, seems odd to introduce a second squad to follow in the last act of the trilogy. Though that squad will most likely be Anya's squad. Have to wait and see.

I thought the trailer was alright. A nice little tease to get you wondering what's going on. (Like why is Anya now fighting with the other Gears instead of providing intel?) Anyway, I wasn't that excited until I read that Karen Traviss is going to be writing the game's story. As someone who greatly enjoyed her work with the Republic Commando novels I'm looking forward to seeing if she can actually make the GoW story interesting. Maybe I'll actually play the campaign of GoW3 more often, instead of really only playing the multiplayer like I do with the first two games.

I always feel like the Gears of War trailers make the game feel so story oriented but whenever I play it, I never really get so emotionally dragged into it. Except for maybe that one time in GoW2 *SPOILER ALERT*



























where Dom has to kill his own wife just to stop her suffering. I think that's the only time I've ever really felt like the Gears story was epic. But then again GoW2 was thousand fold better then GoW in the story telling department, rinse and repeat for this sequel please?
