What are chipped crystals, fire crystals, etc, used for?  They can be equipped.. by who?  Shale?

Wondering that myself. It lists them under crafting in the inventory menu. I have been reluctant to sell them thinking they might be useful sometime..

Crystals are used for Shale. Anyone know what the Gems are utilized for? Like the Rubies, emeralds, etc..

small and large chipped/flawed/whatever elemental crystals is equipement for Shale. They should sort under weapons and armour respectively.

No major use - you can sell them - but you might want to keep hold for the Dwarves equipment after they agree to honour the treaty.

If you find any "remarkable" gems, save those for Shale....

Shale loves glittery things - you might want to get rid of the regular old gems and keep the Remarkable ones - you may be able to soften that stone heart a bit :-)

You can't give all gems to Shale, only the ones with the "Gift" tag. Also, the dwarves will only take the mid level gems for army donations. The higher ones(such as rubies, emeralds and diamonds) will not be taken by the dwarves and the only other use is to sell them.

Dont sell all the rubies they are useful for a quest.  It was a pain to track down where I had sold them over the course of the game.
