Dragon Age: Origins - Divinity is a brand new user module for the main Dragon Age: Origins game.
Based in the fantastic lore of Bioware's latest RPG, Divinity plans to create a wonderous story-driven experience, based on the history of the Elves and Andraste. With two new specilizations for each class, three new origin stories, six fully voiced companions and a campaign lasting around five to six hours, Divinity brings back the old days of Premium User Modules, with no price tag.

Storyline:
"And so we burned. We raised nations, we waged wars,
We dreamt up false gods, great demons
Who could cross the Veil into the waking world,
Turned our devotion upon them, and forgot you."

Dragon Age: Origins - Divinity places you back in the land of Ferelden, to the far south-west, more specifically the town of Abrandor. After completing one of three select Origin stories, your character is dropped into a new episodic epic questline, part of the 'Tales of the Coast' saga.
Thousands of years ago, before recorded histoy, the Elves were a florishing race, one of pure lore, an advanced language and strong religious beliefs. This vast knowledge was lost after hundreds of years of inprisonment and slavery - mostly to the powerful race of humanity. To all the other races of the World, they were simply vermin, and second-class. Centuries of this has made it instinct. The Lands are so used to the racism that it has become second-nature.
Not only are most Elves resented, though, they are also resentful. The years that had been stripped away from them because of enslavement could not be counted. The amount of parents that saw there children take the same path of misery of them was unprecendated.

Deep in the frozen trenches of the Frostback Mountains, a tainted God lays in wait. To him, the ancient elves that he lived alongside left his marvellous cities to populate new lands and live in perfect harmony. He had believed all these years that Elves were the dominant species. He ponders on this, and rests alone in what was once the largest underground Elvish city, oblivious to what the Elves had lost and become.
Thousands of years ago, when the Elves fitted the old God's image, they had promised to return, after all other races had learned their ways and knew of the might of their Gods and the ablities they held. This did not happen, and the slavery began, and slowly the promise was forgotten, cast away into the depths by time. Eventually, only the family with direct descentance from the first Elvish leader held the information and passed it down through generations, the last child of the family was Andraste's friend, Thane Shartan. Though he fell after Andraste was betrayed, he kept the information to the grave, with no son or daughter of his own to pass it on to. He kept a book alongside him always, and this held the promise, and a device, much like a clock, which was the key to returning to the mystical cities. The old God did not know of this, and assumed all was well.

Meanwhile, upon discovery of the battleground where Andraste rebelled against the Tevinter Imperium, bodies of the dead begin to resurface and the Chantry hopes to recover more clues to Andraste's history. Her advisors and allies, noteably Thane Shartan, were found. Now, the Chantry plans to take these bodies to Denerim, to lie them to rest alongside their kin and fellow warriors.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your character comes into the story at the town of Abrandor, after your Origin storyline. Here, your saviour Prophet, a mysterious hermit who helped you in your Origin story (Prophet acts as a Duncan-esque character) tells you news that a Chantry wagon and patrol had been ambushed by a group of mysterious hooded 'bandits' and that they had killed everyone at the scene. The escort wagon was also taken, which was carrying several bodies from the battleground. He then uses the fact that he saved your life to send you to investigate, and that you owe him a great debt. He then admits that he cannot come, but 'will return' to help when you need aid.
Soon enough, you character returns to Abrandor to look for clues to where the carriage was attacked and tries to find revelations to who did it.
Here, you will enlist two new party members, for the first step into the story...

Features:
As mentioned before, Dragon Age: Origins - Divinity features numerous ideas for your character. As a side note, you cannot import a previous Dragon Age - Origins or Awakening character into the module, only create a-new. In this module, you are not a Grey Warden, and the story is not linked to the main campaign of Origins. This is a different character in a brand, new story.
It also works both ways, you cannot export a character from Divinity into Awakening or Origins and this is because of equipment variation and storyline purposes.

- Three new Origin stories:

Town Guard - Warrior, Rogue - All races
Apostate Apprentice - Mage - Elf, Human
Adventurer - All classes, all races

- Two new specilizations for each class:

More to be revealed soon.

- A episodic length campaign:
Divinity is just the first step to a much larger and epic campaign, split into around six hour gameplay chunks. This works like a TV-series, Divinity is just the pilot. Each episode will have a cliffhanger ending and will be continued in the next. We are aiming for around three or four episodes.

- Brand new characters, all fully voiced acted:
With original and deep characters, we want you to know and love them as much as you do with the Origins characters. With some unique party members, and each with a determined and deep background. Origins party approval makes a return too, expect to not get along with some characters.

- Romances
Alot of people were disappointed at the fact that not much of your romance was continued in Awakening. In Divinity, there is a wide range of characters to equally fall for. Your romances will also continue throughout the episodes, as well as the characters you meet stay with you throughout.

Q&A:

What's the release date for Divinity?
Currently, we are not willing to give a definate date, though we will say, because of the episodic structure, you will see it fairly soon.

Is there new items & equipment in Divinity?
Yes, there is. Using the tier system from Origins, you won't see any items that are as powerful as Awakening, but there are still lots of great stuff. We also have alot more specilization certain items, full hermit type robes and special heavy cleric armor, for example.

When will we see some gameplay and some of the new stuff mentioned?
Soon. Very soon.

Believe you me, I would jump at the opportunity to see this project through. But unfortunately I cannot program the toolset nor create modules itself. So I hope you receive lots of support on this.

May the force be with you on this one

Edit: Nice new banner, careful you'll threaten bioware staff positions if you keep this up.

Question about the Cleric spec. What kind of feats will it have? Turn Undead/Outsider a la d&d, Divine Might (ak+dmg bonus), Cloak of Bravery?

If you want someone to test the module before release.. well, I offer myself to do it ^^

Firstly, I would like to give a deep apology to the team I had gathered and collected for this module. For the past month and so I have some health issues (that lead to some serious concerns for myself) mixed with an Internet Provider change and internet downtime. I know I basically disappeared with no explantion nor warning, and its inexcusable, and once again, I'm sorry.

As for the module, I'm willing to pick it straight back up and continue from where I (or we) left off. In the spare time I've had, I'm starting to put a proper public website together, which will come alongside a fully-fledged update to the public (for the long wait with no info). As for the health issue, I'm happy to say I'm 100% and back to my old self.

When I started this project I swore to myself that I'd see it through, and prove I can do this. I haven't and won't break this promise to myself, and anyones I made to any of my team, or the public. I'm happy to say that (once I've reconnected with the team) Divinity is back on the rails, and ready to shed some light.

Thanks for reading & I hope you'll like the upcoming update,

Silent Oblivion

Awesome! Welcome back, just let me know what needs to be done and I'll see what I can do. It's a been serendipitous that I was extremely busy during your LoA, but that period is past. I'll contribute what I can.

Just to also say, thanks for the fantastic response on the thread. I'll answer any questions you guys have here (or on the Q&A board) and once the main sites up, we'll have a forum for all our followers to discuss and get constant updates.

@0ts0 - Our Cleric is first and foremost a healer/buffer. His/her's four ablities revolve around either increasing a party members health or upgrading them in some way. The turn undead aspect doesn't exist in the module (lack of undead etc). Of course, the Cleric is great in battle, using maces as thier main weapon and gaining their own passive ablities to themselves.
Expanding on whats originally said, each specilization has an unique quest just for them. It'll be a multiple part quest that expands as the main story progresses, and will end in an amazing armor set restricted to that spec.

I have some experience with the toolset and 'm willing to offer you help on this project.

The only addon I released so far is Extended Dog Talents (in my sig). It's nothing spectacular, but it should prove I'm competent at 2DA and script editing. Therefore I could easily create new spells and talents. I can do some other stuff too, such as conversations and item or creature design.

What I'm not good at is art & graphical design.
