Oh man... I'm going out on a limb here and saying I like Isoldore... I mean... ok her reasoning was pretty stupid regarding Connor... but she was scared and looked out for her kid...

I basically de-poessessed the brat so he'd stop being such a pain in the arse to Isoldore and Teagan pretty much...

I really... hate Connor... but I just can't kill a kid

Don't fully understand why there's so much hate for Isolde. She never struck me as a bad person, just a desperate mother who made a bad decision out of fear of losing her only son. If anything could make someone behave irrationally and selfishly, then it's the threat of having a child taken away.

My PC later had Alistair do the Dark Ritual with Morrigan for similar selfish reasons. She hated blood magic, didn't trust Morrigan, yet when faced with the chance that she might lose Alistair if he sacrificed himself, she suddenly found herself turning a blind eye to the possible consequences of unleashing an Old God baby upon Ferelden. Even if the baby was not truly evil (if you trust Morrigan enough to take her word), it's still likely to be incredibly powerful, and therefore potentially dangerous. In my opinion, if the Old God baby doesn't result in at least as much pain and death as Connor's abomination, it will only be because the PC lucked out with her call, whereas Isolde's plans to keep Connor (and thus those around him) safe backfired.

Isolde, number 1 character on the annoying charts. In fact it was solely her fault when i slit Connor's throat, yes i hated her that much I hurt her child to punish her (i know im a horrible person)

I can't stand her.

Mostly out of the reasons how she has treated Alistair as a child and that she is a total b*tch to him, even when he's trying to save her as$ nonetheless. Her arrogant behavior was also a huge, giant RAWR- factor for my F!Dalish, but moreso the ****ty treatment of the first human she come to trust and care about. So she was practically dead from minute one upon opening her mouth and screeching disdainting at Alistair xD

Or so my Dalish thought... There was only a little flaw in her 'have revenge for hurting Alistair' plan...

Posted Image

*sigh* She ended up going to the circle and saved both. Not that she cared about any of them, but *points at the picture* Oh well...

Lol, I swear she was all "rawr, by the creator I swear I'm going to KILL her!!111!" ...before she made the mistake to turn around to Alistair.

Alistair: Don't kill her. Please :crying:
F!Mahariel: But..but she is behind everything. It's her fault. :pinched:
Alistair: :crying:
Mahariel: And the way she has treated you all the years. You suddenly decided to forget about it?
Alistair: :crying:
F!Mahariel: ...You are doing this on purpose, are you?
Alistair: :crying:
Mahariel: Fine. Circle of Magi, that is.
Alistair: Yay.
Mahariel: I hate you.

Even though Isolde drives me absolutely mad I do have to applaud her voice actress. I think she did a really good job.

I usually use the Circle to help Connor.... mostly because I don't want Alistair to yell at me. Hahaha.

OK, I admit it - I like her. Yes, she is incredibly stupid but I cannot punish a mother for loving her child - at least as long she doesn't do anything evil on purpose.

Which action I take always depends on the character I play, a good character who has been to the Circle before always gets the magis support, if not it depends if he/she trusts Jowan enough to let perform blood magic, thinks what option will increase the chances of getting Eamon's support,....

My next playthrough will be a male powerhungry HN who schemes with Isolde (who only plays dumb to get her way) to control Eamon.

Heathen... you actually like her?  I can't stand her, in fact there were 2 good scenes she was involved with, one when you first enter the castle, and if your character is female Connor goes "shes nothing like you mother! look at her pretty and half your age" made me giggle that, and of course the part where you punch her

I always restrain myself and don't punch her.  While I hate Isolde, I don't hate Connor.  He truly is an innocent caught up in grown up issues he couldn't handle.  The one time I was able to kill Connor (and it was like pulling teeth without novacaine) I let Isolde do it.  And got some approval from Wynne and Leliana (with persuade checks).  Its far more dramatic that moment the light goes out in her eyes when she realizes her son is lost and there is nothing anyone can do to help him.  And it made it more bearable that my PC wasn't the one to kill a child and that poor baby has suffered enough, it should be his mother who sends him on his way.
Man my Isolde hate increased exponentially that run through.  Now I just let Jowan do his ritual and either go myself or send Morrigan.  I reason it takes too long to go to the Circle (even a day would be too late if I come back and everyone is dead) and something must be done immediately.  Game really should have consequences for that decision.

Well I have to say I can't stand her at all but yet I can understand her actions, though I do not agree with them.
On a mother level I understand her concern for wanting to protect and keep her son at her side. Obviously the thought of Connor being taken away and trained as a mage terrifies her because she does not want to lose him, again understandable.
However that fear causes her to make very unwise choices that almost costs her Eamon and Connor lives, not to mention my ass had to go through the Fade which I absolute hate, hate, hate doing! That is my first beef with her when sometimes I just want to go the easy route and have her do the blood magic sacrifice. But being the "good" person I am I go the Circle and begin another side quest fiasco. I need to let my evil little person out more often though Alistair is the main reason I go the circle. For me being put in charge the man has me wrapped around his finger! (damn charmer)Posted Image

But as a person who treated my beloved Alistair like a third rate **** pile and that just really steams me up. Posted Image I don't really hate her but she is not someone I would around me all the time. Her Orlesian simpering ass would get punched or pushed down the stairs, whichever came first. What I would really like to do with my character is point my finger at her and repeat "Haha this is what you get". But in a way her guilt she seems to feel over all that has happened is punishment enough. She has to live with her actions the rest of her life. Karma is a **** isn't?Posted Image

LOL the sounds of silence...

I would be a lot more understanding of her concerns about her had she not cost the lives of SO many people.  Men women AND children herself.  Stupid cow lost any sympathy points when she comes down to the windmill and spouting her teeeegaaan thank the maker line.

At that point I just want to punt her off the cliffside.  She really cares about no one but herself, Eamon and her son (and apparently Teagan as well) anyone else is just collateral damage.  Self centered Orlesian cow.  I really hate that woman I really do.  Damn good writing if thats what they were going for cause she gets me angrier than Loghain. Nothing pisses me off faster than doing crap to a child.

The voice makes my ears bleed and makes cranial intrusion seem attractive in comparisson. But the voice actress is to be congratulated, I have never quite hated a character like that in any game ever

Agh I hate that "Oo is dis wuman teeagaaan?!"
Her voice is soooooooo annoying, and she's the whole reason why all this sh*t is going down.

The first couple times I went to the Cricle. But, this last time I wondered "let's just see what will happen?" So I went with the blood magic route and killed her...I gotta say the blood magic looks cooler, so I think I'll just go with that from now on.
Also I find it funny when Alistair confronts you at camp about it and you tell him "Oh I think it went rather well" and he actually thanks you. :P

Oh yes she definately needs to be congragulated for a job well. She got did get Isolde's voice down pat to match the character. Posted Image   I too have never hated a character quite so much as that simpering Orlesian whiner of an Arlessa.

What's amazing is that everyone pretty much forgives her for killing like 60 people.

I thorougly despise Isolde, and doing the Connor quest the good way (i.e. getting the Circle's help) was the only time I regretted playing a "shining knight" kind of character. Though even she massively saw red and wanted to break Isolde's jaw, if nothing else, and make sure that she is held responsible for her role in these atrocities.

It would be one thing if Isolde had "just" made some bad choices. What really got my blood boiling though is her hypocrisy combined with the fact that she doesn't give a dead rat's **** about anything or anyone that isn't "WAAAAAH! WAAAAH! WAAAAH! MY SON!!!!!! WAAAAAAAH!" Oh yeah, there's her comatose husband too. You could almost forget about him with all the whining and screeching and wailing about her brat. But there are who knows how many dozens or hundreds of people dead, including other people's beloved children -- people her family is obligated to protect! Does she give a crap? Nope. Does she admit any responsibility, or to being a stinking hypocrite? I fiercely dug through the conversations looking to extract such an admission, but in vain. Is she held responsible for anything? Again, no.

That's why I hate her.

Maybe she actually has some redeeming qualities when all she has to worry about is which dress to put on in the morning, who knows. But as it is, she embodies the worst side of "nobility": spoiled, hypocritical, arrogant, uncaring and vapid. Beats me what Eamon sees in her.
