So, yeah. First time playing the game (or attempting to anyway) and for some reason when I get to the part where I need to customize my character's appearence there's no character there. I mean, it's obvious something is supposed to be there and I can change the angle and all that, but if there's someone there they're clearly invisible. I can't even try to edit blind because when I go to all the tabs like skin, etc. there's nothing but blank space. The only exception is voice and even then I can't hear anything if I'm supposed to be able to. Agh, and I was so excited today when I thought I was finally going to be able to play it after all the trouble I had with installing it. x__x;
Cannot see player character in customization screen

If we make a WAG that you have chosen the correct forum, and just aren't that interested in an answer, your query doesn't provide any information. When you do get serious, and take note of the SEARCH availability, and the top line stickied meassages for you edification, and sample some of what is already in process, then this next may start to be more familar.
PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems. There is almost nothing that is truly "standard" between various branded PCs, making the game developers' jobs very difficult, and requiring that warning labels be attached to game boxes for those games that have serious requirements.
In case you have misunderstood how to evaluate your PC compared to that game box label, we have to start from here. Please fill it all in (if you have a problem with that, and are in the DA: O Social Sites' forums, do a search for "Basics" without the quote marks).
Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)
Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon 64 / Pentium / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz (or AMD Performance Number)
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ? (Oh, no!)
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (use the numbers, not the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:
(And this is only for the raw hardware variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)
P. S. Please use every day business style punctuation and spelling. Solid blocks of unbroken text are ignored, as is any foolish IM/TM-style misspelled & unintelligible gibberish.

I understand your point, but there is really no need to be so condescending about it. This is obviously not the forum for me, I'll just try to find a solution on my own. Thank you anyway, though.

He is like that with everyone, just ignore him.
Someone else posted this same issue, he fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling the game but not patching. Which is a good idea because patch 1.3 is pretty buggy anyway. the thread is here if you want to check it out:

Sorry don't know how to make links
hope it helps.
