Hmm, odd. I had no trouble at all with this game but then I am probably considered an old-school or well experienced gamer these days. (31 years old and been playing RPG's since 1985)
Probably the easiest way to do well is to pause and give orders to everyone but I honestly hate doing that so I just set the "Tactics" for them and let everyone do their thing. Keep the tactics current (redo after level up etc.) and the game really is'nt hard at all.
It's Too Hard!

Question...How many times did you all have to change charaters or reload before you felt comfortable an adverage for you? This is my second character and she has done great all the way through getting the Elves to join. But she is sucking in bigg battles (anything with enemies more then 15).
Never, first one was a 2H warrior..works fine. Second was a mage, was also pretty easy. However these two characters are the ones i´m replaying now because i have lost the epilogue save games.
Third was a Bow Rogue...now that was kinda bad at the start..i went to the mages first, bad bad idea i had almost no talents at this point. However in the end i was doing very well. And in DA:A (at last that bit i could play) with Accuracy&Aim on and rapid aim items the damage was simply absurd.
Haven´t left many different talent builds. I try to get all the achievments even though they are worthless.

Exclusively archer Rogues may not be all that great, but choosing Circle Tower as the first main quest to do is definitely NOT (in general) a bad idea!

I think easy is too easy, but everything above it is too hard for me(most of the time)

If this is your first attempt at this type of game, you might want to try it on easy until you get used to it. however, I have heard that easy mode can be too easy.
The key to this type of game is manageing your entire party, not just your main character. Modify each character's AI settings to get them to do what you want when you aren't controlling them directly. More importantly, learn to micromanage your party. Switch between characters often to make the most of their skills and incorporate strategy into the fight. Don't be afraid to use the pause key.

The first time through this game on easy i was dieing all the time, i had no real idea wtf was going on. All i can say is that until you get the hang of the game play on easy there is no shame regardless of what the hardcore MFers here will tell you, i have played the game 14 times now and i still play on normal, the higher skill levels are way too much like work without pay. There is a bit of depth to this game and alot of it is checking the forums and learning by trial and error, but mostly it is finding YOUR playstyle, the game will mold to it. So get into the game, accept death, save ie F5 often, and take heart even long time players like myself eat one fireball too many, forget to keep an eye on my health, and wake up with a knot on my head after the battle is over, which incedently happend just yesterday in the fade.
If you have specific question concerning tactics, builds etc PM me, or make a post in the spoiler section i will try and give you what help i can.
