So back on topic, they probably wouldn't get sidelined or anything they will probably just end up doing what they did with wrex and have a filler character to replace him if he died but still have the same thing happen

I don't think I agree with that, I think one of the reasons why they didn't focus on Wrex, Liara, Ash and Kaidan isn't so much that they couldn't think of what to do with them but basically because all things considered, they weren't immediately necessary.



This is Shephard's story, and I think all in all, it was a better decision to increase the cast list rather than just have the same crew continue again. Obviously though, they threw in the caveat with Garrus and Tali mainly because they underestimated just how much people took to them.

I thought it was because they wanted those characters to survive safely into ME3. 

I'm all for increasing the cast list so long as that doesn't cause problems for character recruitment or continuation in ME3.

The rage on this site when this "logic" is blown to tatters will be nothing short of spectacular. Yes, guys, it's OBVIOUS Bioware will return every single character that could die as full blown squad-mates with characters arcs and story. No Ashley/Kaiden/Council foolishness. No, it's illogical to think they'd do something of the sort again, Oh, and they will not introduce new characters or if they do, they'll just be included with everyone else. It'll be a free for all, gaming nirvana - pick who you want from all the games. They'll write stories for each and everyone and you pick and play. :DI cannot wait for the rage on these boards.

You assume everyone wants to fix their 'mistakes'.  I have 2 characters to import into ME2, one only had 5 squad mates survive.  I'm not going to replay it with her to fix the 'mistakes'.  She's only importing 5 surviving ME2 squad mates....that's how I want it.

Because I don't think Bioware would force gamers to go back and save more characters just to be able to have enough squaddies to progress with the story in ME3.

The bare minimum is 2 surviving from ME2.  You could just have Morinth and Kasumi.

I'm not assuming that jlb. I am saying that you have the opportunity to reload and do the suicide mission differently. I would consider as an opinion that squad mates dying is a "mistake," but I am not assuming that everyone wants to fix them. For those who import with squad mates dead, they should have to bear the consequences for doing so in light of the fact that it's very easy to change the outcome.

You have to save 2 at the very least which if you add up those who lived in me1 not counting wrex the party still a decent size small but it works.

That's true, but wouldn't you say that there's a reason to have them 'survive safely into ME3'?

It will be logistically difficult I'm sure to think of the permutations that could occur to bringing those characters back (and I don't know whether it's realistic to expect someone like Wrex to come back as a party member considering he's out unifying the Krogan clans) but I do believe that BioWare, if nothing else, deserves to be given the benefit of a doubt.

It will be interesting to learn if our DLC characters will return as well... frankly I hope so (and hopefully they'd return in any Awakening-esque expansions they bring out too) since they are way too interesting to just discard.
