I think we can safely write off Splinter Cell Conviction as a contender. It's a decent game but it's campaign is only 5-7 hours long.
Regardless of how good Blizzard's support is for their old games, I think that releasing the game in three different packages at 60 dollars each is just poor for consumer relations and I think it will hurt the game's reviews.
Considering how long Blizzard's development cycles are. We may not even get to see all of Starcraft 2 until 2015 or longer.
Yea but the campaign you get for the Terran's is longer than all of the different races campaigns combined. Also each game after Wings of Liberty will be an expansion pack. Not too dissimiliar from Broodwar, except that the game will get more support after its first expansion.

It's a contender. Still too early to say. As far as a game with a great story where you make all the decisions for the characters another original title Heavy Rain is also a strong contender. GOW3 might get a nod, but I rented it and its really over-rated. Mass Effect 2 will almost certainly be the best Xbox 360 game released this year. Unfortunately for PC owners, ME2 has to contend with Starcraft II, which is the sequel to the best selling game of all time. So I'd say best game on 360 this year.
Starcraft was the best selling PC game of all time? I'm pretty sure the best selling PC game of all time is The Sims or Myst.

As for Blizzard, they explained that the single player campaign should have the same length as the original game but solely focused on one race. Plus I think they stated that there would be some kind of interplay between every missions. Which should prove quite interesting.
For Starcraft, it's either gonna be simply good or totally awesome. Yes, I have high expectations and Yes I was surprised Bioware beat them during the March madness...

It takes so long for Blizzard to make games that all of their long time fans have moved on except for the WOW crackheads who experience no joy outside of their stupid fictional social life.

Heck, I clocked thousands of hours on Broodwar, and I never finished the campaigns.
It's all about the tourney scene ... heck, the AI says GG when you beat them, it's hilarious.

I wasn't too surprised about Blizzard losing to Bioware. Blizzard's games take a generation to develop.

Never mind Bnet, it's the main attraction on three TV stations. People have full time jobs playing Starcraft.

Hobby .. they got legions of mad k-pop and k-soap fans, so I'd say their hobby is ... err .. TV.
But as a sport, Starcraft is more popular than Taekwondo.
And they invented Taekwondo ... which is an olympic sport.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be great but it looks like more of the same.
I heard that, 5 to 7 hours if you play on easy or normal and just run gun.

I concur, the spectacular world that Final Fantasy XIII introduces you to is entirely superficial. You can't explore it, you can't interact with any NPCs. When you're actually playing the game it feels more like a platformer like Crash Bandicoot than any kind of RPG.
I think Game Trailers described the world in Final Fantasy XIII like an incredibly cool theme park, but you can only stand in the line. I agree with that. Final Fantasy XIII has no immersion and no sense of adventure.
It is in my opinion the worst main title in the Final Fantasy series. Even worse than Final Fantasy VIII which I thought was garbage.
The glory days of the Final Fantasy series are long over. Final Fantasy XIII won't even be nominated for game of the year.
