2.4 ghz nvidia 8800 gt .. have tried two mouses, logitech g5 and g9. have tried latest and old drivers from nvidia for the video card and the mouse.

game loads, can get to first mission for the fade area. then drifts then game ceases, when trying to turn character around. this happens in windowed and unwindowed mode. after a few minutes, it recovers, only for the mouse to drift by itself again.

this is running on windows 7 with full latest updates, there is no firewall, i can connect to steam and login fine, and there are no virus scanners on the machine. this is a fresh install of windows 7.

no such problems in windows or any other games such as wow, company of heros, rainbow vegas 6, farcry, gta 4 all running fine.

the game is unplayable. whats with the mouse drifting.

to explain more, with no hands on the mouse, the mouse moves by itself in small jitters, whilst doing this it is uncontrolable. this goes on for around 2 -3 mins then recovers, then if you move the mouse, it begins jittering around by itself again. both are wired mouses. the logitech g9 and g5 and have no other problems with anything else on this computer.

i have recreated this problem 20 times now, going for 21 times soon. still trying to fix it. completely out of ideas.
any help appreciated very much!

i have tried every usb port on the compuuter, two on front, two on top and six on back. all of them recreated this problem.

Try de-installing and upgrading the Logitech Setpoint drivers. I'm using a Logitech mouse too, with the latest Setpoint drivers, and it's working fine.
