What are you doing first and why?
Play through the original campaign, or start creating with the toolset? Or maybe a mix?
Campaign or Toolset first?

Yes!
I actually hope to mix and match the two.
Play some campaign, play around with the toolset to tweak stuff, etc etc.

I don't think I'll be able to play through the whole campaign before starting to look at the toolset.. But I do think I will finish the campaign prior to producing anything worthwhile(read: something that's not utter crap and just made for practice's sake) out of the toolset.

Both. I'll start the campaign first then start building soon after, in parallel.

In NWN, I started out with toolset first and campaign second (because for a long time, the OC kept crashing when I tried to start it, but toolset was OK). The problem was that I never got a 'feel' for how things looked in-game, so all my built areas were HUMONGOUSLY large (think 16x16, 32x32 tiles for those of you who know) since I really had no idea of scale.
So, this time, definitely campaign first. I want to see what things actually look like in-game before going to work out my version.

I'm also planning to play through the campaign first. It will help me see some of the possibilities with the toolset, considering BioWare used the same tools to create the campaign.
However, I might get bored and fiddle around with the toolset somewhere along the way. Nothing serious though before I've played through the campaign.

For me, campaign first, unless I get bored with the campaign. I played BG1 and 2 clear through, so, I don't see that happening.

I'm also going for the campaign first. First I want to get a feel into the game because as of right now I don't know anything of how Dragon Age will play out. I want to enjoy the game before I start getting my hands dirty. Because work is work.

It would seems reasonable to see what Bioware has done with the toolset by playing the main campaign. Having an idea of the capabilities and limitations can be found by doing so. Might even show you ideas that you may not thought was possible.

Campaign first (multiple times). The toolset will just have to wait for awhile, besides, I can always just come back and steal everyones hard work.

For many people, it will probably be easier to start on the campaign, and wait with the toolset until more tutorials have been written - the toolset is powerful, but it is not trivially to use.
In my case, however, the answer is "neither". I'll start looking at the game resource files. analysing their formats and writing some tools to manipulate them.....then I'll probably get around to play the campaign.

A little of both. I admit, when I first heard of Dragon Age, I only cared about the toolset. Over the past year or so, I have fallen in love with the campaign itself, so I'm definitely not going to miss out on it!

Easily campaign first for me. The mods I want to introduce will be stories set in the Dragon Age world, so I feel I really need to glean all that I can from the lore to the gameplay mechanics before I really set about my work in earnest. Of course I'll probably mess around in it at day one in breaks from the story, but I imagine I'll also generally be enthralled with the actual game first before I start thinking of the inevitable questions, "So what do I want to do with all of this now?"

It's not even sure that the toolset will be released on the same date as the game... but even if it will, I'm going to play the campaign first.

For me it'll be the campaign to figure out what's possible and adjust my ideas accordingly. (I'm always secretly waiting for more tutorials)

It depends on the campaign. I tried playing through the NWN2 OC about a million times but never got further than the beginning of the second act--the game didn't pull me in. I think DA's campaign might be different though, and in any case I'll try it for a few days just to get the hang of how the game plays and feels before really investing time in the toolset.

Mix ... but then it depends on how difficult the toolset is to get into ... and the campaign (of which I completely believe that it will be great).

Start playing the campaign. Then when get a feeling of the game mechanics, use the toolset to reverse engineer the best moments I come across. It's a great way to learn the the finer points of the toolset. At least it was a good idea for Bethesda games and editors.

Definitely the campaign first. I doubt anything will be able to pull me away from it on the first play through.

Start in the campaign. I would like to mod in the DA world, so learning the lore, history, and what's possible with the new toolset will come first.
Also, all of you more experienced modders will need time to put together the tutorials I rely on to get me through :-)

Same for me. Campaign 1st to see what the Bioware developers have created out East. (and indeed looking forward to the tutorials)

I will want to modify my characters looks and bodies first and then while campaigning I'll keep watching everybody elese's mods

I'll start with the campaign, but I am positive that I will end up mixing in some toolset time as well. Besides, finishing the campaign will likely take me months and months, and I certainly don't want to wait that long to play around with the Toolset!

I don't think anyone would try serious modding before playing through the campaign first unless they came out of beta. I probably gonna "play" (not mod) around with the toolset as I play the game, do some mock up modules, get used to interface ...etc... Also playing through the campaign would give me an idea what I can and can't do with the toolset and adjust my script accordingly.
