hey folks I hope you can help me out here I'm playing a sword and shield warrior in origins now but I'm thinking of respeccing her in awakening into a twohander since awakening is a lot easier and you don't really need a tank.So what would you say I should do?

Well on my first playthrough the only new companions I liked where Sigrun and Justice, who I picked up last, so I played most of the game with just my mage and Oghren and we did fine, so I imagine you'd do fine in a group without a sword and shield warrior. I'm on hard by the way, not nightmare, might make a difference, I don't know, but I doubt it.

yeah I already beat awakening a few times and don't go farther than hard so you'd recommend to just respec into a twohander right?

If you want to, go for it. Bosses might require a bit more healing but with all the aoe a 2h warrior has in awakening groups of normal enemies should die before you need much healing at all.

that's true in previous playthroughs I had no trouble with any bosses and I didn't have a tank

Not sure it makes a difference if you have a party. For a solo nightmare run, I would probably lean in favor of S&S, because Carapace is a great panic button. I do love the CC that 2handers get though.

Well, from my observation, S & S warriors get one new offensive ability in Awakening -- the ability to run at people and knock them down for 1-2 sec (Juggernaut). It doesn't strike me as something to write home about. Would be cooler if it had some knockback (sent them flying) and stun for a few seconds.

On the other hand, the 2handers are getting a variety of different ways to slash multiple enemies at once. Both sustained and activated attacks that hit multiple enemies. BTW, if you're getting tired of seeing how slow you are with your 2H weapon, try putting 3 momentum runes in that bad boy, you'll notice a difference.

I put in a couple of those +crit chance/+crit dmg runes on Vigilance as a 2hander and with Massacre the game just got really boring as everything either got down to 10% health or died if they were normal.

I'd also crit things for up to 300 or more dmg and it would just devastate bosses as each hit would take a chunk of their health especially when you used activated abilities like Sunder Arms, Sunder Armor, or even Onslaught.
