I mean an old doctor, a blue archeologist, a diminutive thief and a snipin' dancin' robot is not the ideal survival dream team. Then again I'm trying to use logic in a forum where the first thing that was eaten was logic

OK, about the logic: it has been known from the very start, that only ONE contestant is going to remain. And "survival skills" or any other "logical reasons" are irrelevant in this situation.

Everyone is pretty much out for themselves. It's perfectly logical to want your most favoite character to survive as long as possible, one round at a time, with possibility to make 16 such steps and effectively win the contest.

And it is also logical to want your least favorite character out in the current round.

But then there is this thing about general (un)popolarity, which makes your vote lost in vain if it's not cast for one of the "favorites" of the current round...

And then the cheating hits the fan, making it all totally senseless, but thrilling nonetheless.

I think someone could make a strong argument for why the character they like should survive longer than others while the character they don't like should be one of the first to go. And it will sound completely logical to them.

That said, if there are two characters I consider of equal survivability, it would make sense for me to vote off the one I don't like of the two as soon as possible. It will look completely illogical to someone who was indifferent to see someone with high survivability killed off early in the game, but hey, that's just gaming the system.

If you wanted an actual discussion leading toward some consensus on what order the squadmates should be pegged off, a poll system would have been extremely low on my list of ways to go about it. You'd be better off removing the voting aspect first. Do-over. Start a new thread.
