I think you'll learn that most of the Talimancer hate (and hate for ANY love interest) is almost entirely unwarranted.  I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone give Tali a slight insult, then see another poster going "OH **** BRACE FOR THE TALIMANCER RAGE."

And then said rage never happens.  You'll notice though that it's mostly the Talimancers and Liaramancers who get trashed the most, even though almost every single character fanbase has equal amounts of devotion.  

No matter how you look at it, hating someone because they love a character is borderline idiocy, yet it's almost a constant on this forum.

Not true Zaeed is the by the book type. He will do what he's paid to and that doesn't include backstabbing Shep.

Chances are, Tali dieing was a reference to a ME1 comic strip where the team was in a similar situation and Tali at the end is about to kill Garris with a knife, and he thinks she is hitting on him. Wrex thinks that because the knife was involved it was "kinky".

I feel that Jean fails to share my dislike for the Talimancer phenomena.  So I will try to explain it clinically.  For whatever reason Talimancers feel the need to mobilize and jump upon any poll that has Tali in it;  And, I believe they do this much more than any other LI fanbase.  Thus they imbalance the polls they participate in and eliminate whatever whisper of a meaning the poll had managed the scrounge together.

How this came about?  Fans from ME1 mobilized themselves on the old forums to hopefully raise awareness to the Developers of Mass Effect that they {Talimancers} wanted Tali as a love interest in ME2.  One of the developers even made a passing reference of a joke about this in one of the videos. pre ME2 launch.  Thus, Talimancers were already mobilized and were active as a group prior to launch of this Social Network and ME2.

What motivation they had?  I believe fear and a little jealousy... jealous that Tali wasn't a love interest in ME1 and thus was forced to skip ME2 to prevent the player from having a chance to get the LI killed.  Of course, I feel that this is completely absurd... Liara was my toons ME1 LI but apparently I can only wish for her to have as big of a presence in ME2 as Tali does in ME2.  Apparently our LI has an important roll in ME3, that would have been broken if the ME1 LI died in ME2... or something *shrugs* obviously there is some information missing.  However, mostly fear I think because you can get Tali killed as a LI in ME2 but a talimancer 'rightfully' wants their LI to have a meaningful impact in ME3 similar to whatever impact ME1 LI's had.

Right or wrong, that is the impression Talimancers give me and that is why I vote against her everychance I get.  Why? because it makes me happy.  As for Day 4 I vote for Samara because I want a chance to eat her via the Romance DLC, or some future expansion.

I don't see their poll pushing as a big deal.  It's just accepted as a given that Tali will come out on top so lets look at the other numbers for anything of interest.  And Tali's presence in ME2 doesn't take anything away from Liara's role.  The two exist completely independent of one another.

Here is my problem with this operation; it's a hate poll, it has been a hate poll right from the start. Disguised as a game, people vote to kill off characters, the scenario is that you kill off characters based on survivability on a desert island, but no one takes that into consideration seeing as how naerly every comment has been about killing characters people dislike.The indicators are Jacob being the first to go and people thought he was dull, Morinth next because people agree she is a b!tch. The most obvious indicator being the most recent one where a majority of the posts have been about killing Tali and people commenting on how the fans will weep when she does get voted off. There was little weeping to be done.

Now I would have dropped this theory if it were not for the subject of the aftermath being about fan rage. Now seeing the comments again, it's about the "Talimancers" ruining polls and now they are trying to avenge her by doing further rage voting. Haters seem much more obsessed about taking down the fans than the fans are about liking their favorite character. The OP does not help matters since he has been rallying people to vote against Tali and he does have a history about trolling the Tali fans. Also I doubt any character will be killed off just as brutally in any subsequent polls, at least not without the OP acknowledging this observation.

Then they get accused of ruining things just for being there, so now a group is not allowed to voice their opinion because they are the largest? A majority still counts for something, whether it's a love or hate group. It's like you invite people to play a game of dodgeball and you take every oppurtunity you can to hit a specific person.

We are just basking in the glory of Tali being dead so early.... that said... I voted Zaed because I don't find him all that useful when I play.  That and I think his dialogue is stupid!

I dunno. Personally I'm going to be playing this like a serious game of Survivor. At some point I'm going to kill all my other favorite characters for Legion, because they are going to be eating my food.

And though I didn't vote her off, Tali has a delicate immune system that doesn't make her very resilient. :\\
