I'm not a fan of elves either. I was a few years ago. I probably know more about elves in D&D than any sane person has a right to. However, there are so many things about elves that are silly in a Mary Sue sort of way that I find it difficult to take them seriously. I prefer to stick with humans. There is more than enough cultural variation, conflict, and history there in any developed fantasy setting. If I want to play a non-human race I prefer things like demons or faeries. Despite the fact they are more fantastic in nature than elves, they tend to portrayed as less perfectt, which in turn makes them more interesting.
(Not that elves are absolutely perfect but they come ridiculously close in most settings. In a way I can't blame them for their insufferable arrogance.)
Yes. Elves are pretty as a picture, and it bothers several of my digestive organs.
Honestly, I've always had a soft spot for half-elves. I think it would be interesting if DA:O actually included half-elves as a seperate race. Would they be accepted? Would they be scorned? Would they eat waffles?

They don't exist.

I'm not a big fan of Eilistraee by extension of my elf dislike, but she is tolerated solely because I like Liriel Baenre and Liriel was a wizard/priestess of Eilistraee for a time. The only drow gods I really liked were Vhaeraun and Kianransalee. Probably because I'm partial to tricksters and psychotic undead necromancer goddesses. Plus, she managed to kill Orcus. That's badass.

Yes. I know. That's why I said that it would be interesting if they were included.

Hmm....I only see one problem with that sentence. "Possessed" should not be capitalized.

Or maybe it should be the cleavage in my back fat. That'll bring in the sales.
You certainly have plenty of that.

Yuppers.
...Although I think "Cotton" could be spelled with a "K" instead of a "C". Just so she's percieved as being "hip", "cool", and "jiggy wit' it!".

My elf happily disposes of any human oppressor that steps out of line.
Edit: But yeah I'm used to the "other" forms of elven lore, like D&D or LOTR, where elves are seen as some pristine perfect harmonic nature dealy. In my case I actually found that idea desirable. So poo....

Demonic possession is an integral part of who she is. It's like... the most important part of her character!

Kotton... hmm... naw, the whole K instead of C thing isn't my bag. It feels unnecessarily pretentious. Cotton is all about class after all.

Well, you didn't say "demonic possession". You said "possession". For all we knew, she was possessed with some really bad gas.

Hmm...fair enough. Can it be "Cotton Candy", though?

Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't act like a rabid fan the way some like to. I used to like them too at one point. Even now, it would be a stretch to say I despise them. Every once in awhile I toy around with the idea of playing an elf, but it hasn't happened in years. They just don't interest me like they used to.

Cotton Candy? Hmm... it's very tempting, but no. I think I'll call my Possessed Half-Elf Dwarf Human pirate Candy. Yeah... Cotton and her faithful sidekick, Candy. I like it!
