Why not?
What's not right about geting off to almost perfect girls?!
Anime girls tend to have the face of a 12 year old on a 18 year olds body.
Many tentacle beast lovers are being held for ransom.

Nevertheless they are usually quite beautiful.... seemingly 5 years old ones nonwithstanding. Pedophilia is just sick.
Edit: And no tentacles. Tentacles suck - just look at broodmother.

Well, I think if they are giving the guys some eye-candy, they should do the same for the girls. At least then it would not stand out and be so glaringly obvious that they are doing it if they did. However, that is extremely slow in coming as far as games are concerned. Most male developers and game designers are a little too insecure and scared to make a sexy, shirtless man for some reason.

Its a shame too. But its all dependent on the demographic that the particular game is going for. Lets just face it, theres not all that much when it comes to gaming geared directly to females. There are games for both kind of but for females, not really. . .

The problem is that men are super fearful of being gay, because of the huge social stigma attached to it. It's just not a good idea to even do anything at all that could be remotely construed as "gay".

this is true, but they did have Zevran in DA:O, but the entire idea behind that stigma is absurb

#1 is, "If we put this into the game, will it give us greater sales?
#2 is, "If we put this into the game, will it _cost_ us some sales?
Though there are a LOT more women into gaming these days, the overall population is still waaaaaayyyyyy short of a 50/50 split. (I'm inclined to guess that it's at most 70/30 for M/F -- but that is purely a gut feeling with no hard data to back it up.) And though society overall is _much_ more tolerant of predilections of sexual preference, it is still far from being "generally accepted."
It is _much_ easier to make people upset by something that IS in a game than it is for something that IS NOT. That is, as long as a game is not a deliberate depiction of Modern Day society, the way to play it safe is to portray the "traditional" heterosexual relationships.
Somebody upthread pointed out that generally speaking, males are MUCH more concerned about viewed as being even remotely, latently, slightly homosexual. And for many of those uptight homophobes, flashing some male skin at them is very likely to have a negative reaction. As in, they may decide to NOT buy a game with male nudity and/or homosexual relationships -- for fear that others might comment on his owning such a "gay" game.
On the other hand, flash a LOT of T&A at them and it gets their hormones cooking as a fringe benefit. Good gameplay and horny to boot! (Now, where did those magazines end up?) And depictions of lesbian relationships tend to turn more guys on than it turns off. (It feeds the common male sexual fantasy of him being just the man to make those women at least bisexual possibly even straight hetero. Then they're already all set up for a menage a' trois.)
Female gamers, on the gripping hand (attaboys for those that recognize the reference), aren't nearly as hung up on the sexuality thing. If they're solidly hetero, dropping naked female flesh in front of them, even as a lesbian relationship, is a matter of being that other person's (or character's) concern. That is, such images don't challenge a women's sexuality nearly as much as it would a man's.
The net effect of all this:
more female flesh -- more sales
more male flesh -- possibly fewer sales
heterosexual relationships only -- no effect on sales
homosexual relationships added -- possibly fewer sales.
I was VERY surprised to discover the extent that BioWare went to in incorporating the homosexuality in DA:O. It puts them near the leading edge of "telling it like it is". Well, "like it is", but with a LOT of cleavage.

I am disappoint. But Bioware could still use a little bit a of extra cleavage.

I do wish there was more eye candy for us girls though. But it's a bit more difficult to get male eye candy in a game where you're pretty much fighting for your life/to save the lives of other people. Having a shirtless guy running around in your group is a tad bit detrimental to living.(Though it might serve as a good distraction technique if he's particularly attractive..)

Personally, I don't mind the amount of cleavage or leg.(Actually, I wish there were at least options for slightly more revealing armor for DA female characters. And I'm female.) It's not like they really shove it in your face all that much, or that the entire game revolves around the half naked women. If it degenerated that far, then I would start having issues with it.
