well...im not sure what sort of infrastructre the mighty USA has, but should this ever happen here, I wont be worrying,.....

Power stations (unless nuclear) are not very high maintenence, add together all the hydro electric stations around the country....wind power farms....then minus the amount of electric NOT being used.....they will last for a quite a long time before one decides to malfunction....

Actually, wind turbines and hydroelectric facilities tend to be higher maintenance than your standard power station. They both suffer wear and tear from the environment, so both require a fair bit of upkeep.

No! You're going to have to share with me. I live in Florida too after all.

Besides, it doesn't get really cold so we don't have to worry about freezing to death.

I have thought long and hard about this day... When the outbreak is still only a class one outbreak is when i'll decide to begin my mass sell off of the non-important items in my house. I will then use this money to to buy non-perishable food items and hire a contractor to erect a ten foot cement wall around my property. I will begin cultivating the land and opening the well in my back yard. The weapons will be stocked in the attic of my house with a trapdoor that I will cut into the roof. I will provide a haven for people if they pass an extensive psych examine. If they threaten my haven I will shoot them without question. They will become more of a threat to me than the zombies. I will have extra bags of cement that i will keep in a waterproof container to prevent an moisture from ruining it. Anybody who enters my have domain has to contribute to the survival to everyone as a whole. If you do not contribute then we will ask you to leave. I will maintain a library of skill based survival books. Religion, sadly, will need to be kept out or kept to themselves because those people crack under pressure. There is still a long list that is a bit more extensive, but you probably dont care to read it all

The biggest consumer of electricity is the industrial sector and well; it will not be there...

You can't stay too long in space though. Food, for one, but also bone loss. Without gravity you will loose a lot of bone.

We need to develop some sort of gravity generator before space is a viable option.
