 My character Has just gone up a level from level 5 to level 6.

Problem is that shepherd got 2 squad points but kasumi and zaeed got none.

Is this normal.

 I thought they were supposed to get 1 squad point every level until level 20.

But being level 6 they should have got a skill point.

Has my game glitched?

Problem is i've reloaded earlier save and levelled up again only to get the same results.

Okey so ehm u may have the setting autolevel on squad only but else i dunno what happend

It isn't a bug. You do not get 1 squad point each new level.

No auto level is switched off.

I did notice that after I completed the mission they got 2 squad points each and shepard got another 2.

So now i'm wondering if only shepard earns points for levelling up and the others earn them for missions?

This is something like my forth playthrough and i've only just noticed I wasn't getting points every level up.

yeah i think that makes sense because the only time they like make me notice that i have lvled is like after a mission so i think there may lay something in it and btw i suck at answering questions so i just keep myself in the dark but here i saw an opirtunity and i think i failed it =D
