...persuade Swiftrunner / the Forest Spirit to kill the Dalish.  Never knew he had it in him!  Not that I did it in my actual game... Save before and Reload with the acheivement. ^_^  On that note, how many of you evil folks went through with it?

I only did it for the achievement and then reloaded as well. I've yet to play a character suitably evil enough to destroy the Dalish despite Zevran's pleas, though on some characters I really thought the Dalish had it coming.

Did it once, and the werewolves made a pretty badass army for the Denerim fight. Unfortunately you lose the crafter and his endless supply of elfroots (and well, it's a bad thing to do). I pretty much always do the optimal ending - have Zathrian end the curse. Works out best for everyone.

Haven't gone through with it, but there are two other places as well where he will get very upset with your actions. He may be "amoral," but that doesn't mean he has no feelings.

I wish there were better conversation options for just ganking Swiftrunner & Co... I kind of feel that's what my shem-hating character would do, but there's not really any good path to get there without seeming like a total bastard.

I'll have to remember not to take Zev with me when I go for that achievement, I don't know if I could take it. His "Cruel to the last" line broke my heart. :( I'll have to get the achievement on my HN, he's a jerk anyway. He's become my "get all the mean achievements" character and I probably won't play him past the landmeet/recruiting Loghain. lol

Have you tried offing all the mages with Zev in your party? :) He is surprisingly sympathetic!

He can be persuaded to see the benefits of such a decision.

Never had Zevran get mad at me, cus never used him or Sten. They never seem to fit in to my party :)

At least Zevran speaks up before you do something instead of yelling at you afterward, like the other companions.... Funny that the elf would be the only one in the party with the testicular fortitude to stand up to the PC.

Sided with the werewolves once so I could summon them in the final battle, but I don't recall Zevran being in the party at the time. I did see his reaction on a different playthrough (the reload kind) "just to see." Since he's the only elf companion we get in the game, I was a bit disappointed we didn't get MORE dialogue out of him (Oghren is a chatty cathy in comparison), but it's understandable considering his character.

Edit: More in Brecilian Forest, I meant. Not overall.

i like having Zath end the curse, but the wolves were pretty awesome in the final battle. having an army of wolves and golems was hilarious. i do remember Zev getting really mad back at camp, but i put him in his place.

It makes me smile because certain people are insistent that Zev's immoral and evil. His reaction here and other places where you can slaughter countless innocents prove otherwise. He has a heart, he just prefers not to advertise that fact.

I did it once - but the comments the werewolves made about never being cured and never being accepted made me reload - while the Dalish had it coming, the werewolves deserved a cure.

Normally I'd agree, but if they let you talk them into slaughtering the Dalish...well now they, too, deserve to be cursed. And if their lives are really that bad, maybe that should stop continuing to infict the curse on others?

How do the Dalish deserve it?  I mean obviously Zathrian's sorrow has consumed him completely, he's certainly the root of the problem and arguably the biggest "bad guy" in the whole situation, but the werewolves are hardly innocent, and what did the rest of Zathrian's clan do to deserve being slaughtered?

When I played the game, I could never figure out who the bad guys are; the werewolves may seem evil since they are more savage and without witherfang they'd have barely any sense of reasoning. But on the other hand the Dalish, Zathrian created the spell that turned elves into werewolves but the rest of the Dalish elves are ok, just hostile until they get to know you.

Zevran is nothing but a sleazy assassin who has no feelings and is evil and stuff. He just tries to talk the warden out of doing bad or stupid things because he likes to argue.

Edit: I know all of this because I leave him in camp always.
