Bugs I have:
Companions give 100% approval once they offically join me. This happened with two companions, and they were different then the companions reported by others with the same bug. It's already really easy to up approval rating. The ones that the bug didn't effect were still up towards 100 pretty quick. Except for Oggy. Even though he knows me from the previous game, he not only started at neutral, but I don't get many opportunities to raise his as I do with others.
Texture bug with Vilgilance: Now I admit, this bug doesn't effect anything, I still find it really annoying to play the game having to look at the wrong texture when the right one is so awesome, and wanted to fight the rest of the game with the correct texture. I know that I can disable Warden's Keep, but I didn't want to risk other problems that that might cause.
Please, if you also have some bugs, even similar ones to mine, post them as a civil, non-bitter reminder:)

I've been watching the tech forums more and more to at least get information on issues, even if I don't have a ready fix for them. I'd encourage you to post to the appropriate ones to talk in detail about any issues that are really annoying you. There are posts at the top of each that detail how to report bugs so we can get the best understanding of what's going on and enter them into the bug database. In most cases, we are aware of the issues you'd meet, but a full description, rather than "this thing is broken", is always helpful to making the fixes we can.

I can't talk details at the moment, but there is another update in the works. We've all been working to compile issues and QA and the dev team have been in bug triage continuously to decide on the contents of the patch and what fixes it will contain.

Thanks a lot of acknowledging it, it's good to know something is coming. I apologize if i put this in the wrong forum, but I didn't mean it to be a bug report so much as a, as i said, civil discussion about it. The bugs I have effect gameplay, but only superfically compared to others. It's good to know my wait won't be for nothing.

1) approval increase seems to not be working right for companions (stuck at +5?), nor how they display their approval level, or grant approval-related bonuses. Some are getting an immediate +100 to approval on joining or first interaction.
2) PC trap dectection seems borked; apparently only NPCs now can find traps.
3) The complete Blackblade armor set appears not to be in the game. (This appears to be an end result of another bug, I think, the last High Dragon never dropping anything as loot.)

Edit: Oh yeah, just recently realized that Vigilince was showing up as Starfang, too. As much as I don't mind the look of Starfang... Vigilince is epic, and I would seriously love it if it's appearance was correct.
A bit unrelated here, but: how come my trusty mabari wasn't with me in Awakening? He's a war dog, he should follow me everywhere! D= I can't even remember if the dog was mentioned at all... Hrm.

yyyyyyyep.
My biggest problems are the Blackblade armour, that approval bork and weapon runes becoming armour runes.

I view patch plans as being more news they do sort of "owe" the community. Especially given the state of Awakening. And it's worse for the console owners, they can't even use the modfixes.

The game was released about a month ago and really... its not in a good shape! But as common as it is today - also this game could be saved with A PATCH .... ! Give it to me now, our precious... patch.

Post launch, we've had 50 change requests logged. We can only do 4 updates per year. Each update contains 5 changes max per system, unless the changes can be bundled.
Some back of the napkin math means = most things wont be changed/fixed/modified.
The most important ones will.
Sentinel/Vigilance graphics IMO are top of the list.

Just so you guys get an idea what bug fixing is like. Our company
launched a new app this year (we are not a software company but we have
a bunch of apps we launch internally)

On the flip side of that though TaleWorlds, a company with about 3-5 people and a couple of grad student volunteers managed to crack out 4 patches in under two weeks for WarBand and arguably did more to improve their game in that short span than BioWare has done to improve Origins in almost 6 months. Yes I am aware Warband isn't on the same field in terms of complexity and it indeed had far more that needed improving than Origins. The point is there is no set standard for patch development and release, it is whatever amount of time and resources they decide to allocate to it. Unfortunatly though most companies just don't give it a whole lot of attention because it's a 100% net loss.

There is a 37 (and counting) page thread about 1.03 patch issues and a 20 page thread about Awakening bugs in the tech forums. Both threads were started...a month ago. On top of this, there are specific threads detailing the more serious issues and relevant information (along with specific instructions on how to bypass issues) has been posted even on DA wikis. The information is out there and has been out there for a long time. With all due respect, certain issues are so obvious (for instance the 100% approval bugs) that no further explanation is required. It is actually as simple as saying feature X is...just broken. While we appreciate your response, a bit more detail on what issues are being worked on and a very rough timeframe on a patch release, would be more meaningful. Thanks.

If so it never drops a thing..ever I have played through there maybe four times so far...nada, no sparklie. I always wondered about that...
If its not supposed to drop anything..and I am mistaken please let me know.

How long did you wait for the sparkle? I've noticed that sometimes it takes a good 20 seconds before it will let you loot some mobs. I"m glad I found out about this now. When they patch the game and I finish my first playthough, I will be able to look out for that.
Here is a question though that has bothered me? How are they going to fix the approval bug that knocks them to 100? I mean do they just revert them back to neutral? Cause that does seem fair considering all the opportunities to gain their approval that we come to as we play after that bug hit? Not to mention gifts that are already given. I've actually already done the Justice side quest for instance. So if they fix the bug, will I have to do it again? I truely fear that I'm gonna need to start from the begining again just because of that bug.

* Upon leaving the grand hall of the citadel it left me standing in an almost empty "graphics glitch" with only a few items shown like some doors in the middle of a blue nothingness. Reloading did not help, had to restart the game. This happened twice.
* I found lots of old notes/information from the main game remaining in codex which felt confusing since most of them were not relevant to Awakening. Either there should be all of them (and none active!) or none of them. This small issue got me worried from the start;
* Chasing a bad guy in the city and got interrupted since one of the party members found his missing sister - it ended in a movie/fight (at thte same time) were I couldn´t do anything or interact at all - another restart
* Some minor issues as codex not updating though it says so and item/stat bugs
* Random crashes - back to desktop (belive it´s Win7 64bit related as probably the grapics bug above)
Finally - I really lost it in Wending woods and since then - I´m no longer able to venture forth...!
Cause the V girl is gone and the mine remains securlely locked so then I turned to this message board for help;
However I cannot find any news about an upcoming patch or any accnowledgment from BioWare (besides, patch for main game should have been possible to download from within game menu and not "hidden" within message board in my opinion).So I tried and signed up for the newsletter but haven´t got any so far. Give us a time table on an eventual patch, please! And kindly some explanation / your thoughts about the fact that a lot of people like myself, are finding it hard to even play the expansion because of the bugs..
Worth to mention is that I encountered no serious bugs during the main game so something is indeed different - my thought being that Awakening was rushed.
And as for content the expansion (so far I´ve played due to the bugs - is good but not great). Though you seldom see reviews of expansions that exceeds the main/original game in praise I believe that BioWare should be able (according to classics like BaldursGate .... and its role playing legacy) no - must be able and should live up to the past greatness even in expansions. Until this happens;
I´m awaiting the patch...
