Can anyone help me with a few problems I'm having? I've gave myself lots of ammo but whenever i pick up a thermal clip, the ammo count is reset. Any way around this? Also, i removed my heavy weapon (blackstorm) from both the loadout and weapon lists, as i never use it. However, i find in game that i always end up just being equipped with the standard grenade launcher. Any way to remove the whole class without hex editing? That stuff is way beyond my level right now.

Nice work btw :)

How much ammo did you give yourself? I think the quantity may be your problem. I had no issues with 999999 but if you try to go into millions or tens of millions that may be a problem. As for removing the heavy weapon you have to overwrite it in the save file with a weapon of a class you don't have. So if you're playing as a soldier for example then replacing the heavy weapon with an SMG in gibbed's should do the trick. But these aren't permanent.....if you pick up a heavy weapon during a mission(Horizon) then you'll have to mod again afterwards, likewise certain situations will also reset your ammo......Kasumi's mission will reset your ammo and the 8 pannels you need to activate at the start of the suicide mission will all reset your ammo. Also if you fail to pick up a weapon during a mission it will likely be forced in your inventory later on which will also reset your ammo however if you pick up all the weapons during the missions you find them in this will NOT reset your ammo......only if they're forced in your inventory by the game.

Yeah ill try that. i gave myself 10000 rounds (thermal bullets? LOL) for each gun, as when i used the max setting (9999999) my shep would reload the gun, only to still have 0 bullets in the thermal clip. i don't mind putting the ammo back at the parts of the game you said, but it's always when i actually retrieve a clip that was placed there, or from a fallen enemy. It also happens with medi-gel, i give myself 100 but it resets when i use a medi-gel cabinet. I don't need the medi-gel, but as both the ammo and gel are having the same problem i thought it would help. Thanks for the help, i can finally remove my heavy weapon now :)

if you give yourself ammo via hex editor they will always remain high no matter the weapon you pick up or the weapon you change.

Example: Since the beginning of the game I gave myself 15000 rifle rounds. Picked up the vindicator, the revenant, I've changed to avenger and to mattock and I still got well over 9000 still unused.

Same for everything else

The only only Time the Ammo resetted for some reason was after In Kasumi's loyalty . Since you have to go into the security room and fight with a small pistol... that semed to mess me up.

So for the previous statements. No for me Ammo has not resetted aside rom kasumi's Loyalty mission if they are done through Hex Editing.

how to do hex editing on it. very very simple.
-Equip the avenger easiest to find, its 400 rounds
-go into hex and find the number 400 but in its hex coding of course.
-before you change it go back into gibb and check the next weapon you got in the little gibb window. Lets say is the shotgun with 31 rounds.
-If is the shotgun just look for the number 31 in hex coding.

If the 31 is only a couple or two lines away from the 400, then you found the weaponry ammo.

Still to be double sure check the weapon below number 2 in gibb, might be pistol, or rifle I duno.  Do this with all weapons except the heavy, if they are all a couple of lines away from each other, those are the ones.

I changed those numbers, and they never reset unless I go into kasumi's. Which I actually do her mission before hexing so it never again resets.

Thanks for the help, i've managed to locate the ammo numbers in the hex editor, any idea what i should change them to to give myself...say the same amount of ammo as you? Do i just find the hex value for the amount of ammo i want, then put that in place of what is there?

Again sry for not answering sooner lol was replaying the IFF to collector base part so :P.

Well amount. I suggest you dont hex gibb or do ANYTHING until you go through

_kasumi/ plus loyalty, a

_garrus and mordin's recruitment

Now yes it is a bit too much but the former messes up ammo count, the B messes up weapons.

Since I change all pistols for AR's And change some of the AR's to revenants. (Zaeed and Grunt get revenants)

But amount.... not really sure. I have actually gotten use to normal ammo... although the mattock still gives me a weird feeling, and not sure why Bioware could not just give more drops or bigger drops... can't believe some drop ammo gives you 1... 1 damn bullet... thats just insulting.

But anyway back on topic... I give myself 9,999 For AR.

8,888 shotgun, 7,777 for smg, 6,666 for sniper

Now why do I do that. Is easier to find them... at least I think so. But you can try to go bigger I guess... Maybe 40,000 ar, 30k for shoty, 20k for smg, 10k for sniper. You can if u want.

Does not really matter what number you put I think but from what Darth has stated it might be a good idea not to go overboard... stay in the thousands or tens of thousands.

Although he did mentioned hundreds of thousands... Still your choice, but dont go over what Darth mentioned might give you trouble late ron.

Too many nines in there. You have allmost 10 million not allmost 1 million. The one extra nine will likely cause your game to either reset or corrupt. It may not seem like a big mistake to you but it IS a big mistake to the game. Attention to detail is the difference between a smooth game and a ruined save.

Medigel cannot be modded with gibbeds....not in any permanent way. As soon as you pick one up your whole modded quantity will go away, the end. If you want to mod medi-gel quantity you need to hex edit.

Hey, I know you guys are probably tired of answering questions about this for nearly a year straight, but I can't seem to get the hair modding done correctly.

I followed both this tutorial and the tutorial at masseffect2faces.com that someone linked too earlier. I've read through as many pages of this thread as I could stand before I decided to just ask right out; what am I doing wrong? Sorry if this question was asked and answered already.

Near as I can tell, I am doing everything correctly. But whenever I go to actually load the modded save file, it appears to be corrupted. I assumed it was because the hair textures are just not on the 360 version, but it seems that plenty of people here have successfully modded their characters hair. I have followed the tutorials to the letter, triple checking everything, but it always comes out corrupted.

The only thing I can think is that I am somehow misinterpreting the steps and doing something wrong somewhere. So I'll state what it is that I am doing here and please tell me if I am doing it wrong.

First I go to the systems settings on my Xbox, and copy the ME2 save file to a USB.

Then I upload the file onto my computer using Xtaf. I extract the file to the desktop. The file is usually called something like "Name_12_1101101_0"

I then open Modio. I select the the "open new save" option and load the downloaded save into Modio. I go to the "File Contents" tab and extract all of the files into a new folder on the desktop.

Then I open Gibbed, load the save, and go to the "Raw" Tab. Under Squad, I decompress "Player" then "Appearance" then "Morph Head".

On the Masseffect2faces web site it says to change the "Hair Mesh" Code to the new desired code. I do so. Then move to the "Texture Parameters" section and click the button with the ellipsis, as instructed.

I alter the HAIR_Diff and HAIR_Norm codes by copying in the new desired code over them (deleting the old codes).

I hit save and copy over the desired save I want to replace. I go back to Modio, delete the save I edited in Gibbed, then inject the new modded version in its place. Click "Rehash and Resign" then close Modio.

Delete the save file from xtaf and inject the modded version.

From their I just plug the USB back into my Xbox and try to play the game but it is usually always corrupted. Almost every other mod I have tried has worked so far. Aside from changing the endgame status, which also always leads to a corrupt save file for me, I have never encountered any other problems.

Am I doing something wrong? Any response would be appreciated.

So, does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

I know that this is unlikely, but is it possible that modding support was patched? It seems that no matter what I try, my file always ends up corrupted now. Even simple things like adding ammo or Paragon/Renegade points corrupts my saves. My old files that were already modded still work fine, but whenever I try to mod a new save it doesn't work. And I think I just downloaded a new patch like two or three days ago.

Found something funny that might be known to most but here it is:

For weapons modding under #3 of the guide put *SFXWeapon_MiniGun* and

*SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_MiniGun* Without the * of course.

Thought this weapon was a riot. For refrence sake I found it on https://docs.google....mcyZHdnbg&hl=en :D

Have Fun! ;)

not sure dude. Might want to try to delete all modio usb, and gibb. And redownload them again.

Actually before doing anything harsh make sure your following the steps... dont want to seem insulting but every time my game is corrupted is because I didn't follow instructions correctly.

make sure you delete the save before injecting its replacement.

Another idea might be to erase saves fromt hat career, the latest ones to see whats going on. As to make sure the file didn't go over 1MB.

If nothing works then yeah... might want to try to redownload everything.

Remember that the numbers you add here can corrupt your save. 1900 maxes a morality bar and numbers like 3500 works fine for me. However trying to add hundreds of thousands or millions may be problematic. Beyond that make sure you rehash and resign the character save in modio after reinjecting the modded numbered save.

Good info on this. I've been looking for a way to extend the life of this game, so all of this is great. Couple of questions though, as I haven't read the entire thing, so I'm trying to figure out if I can do this stuff or not:

1) Can you assign standard class powers to other classes? I want to make a class that has a few abilities that I think are cool outside of the Bonus Abilities, for instance giving my Infiltrator Tech Armor and Combat Drone versus needing AI hacking and Geth Shield Boost.

SN: In my current mod, I have an infiltrator with 11 abilities, 7 bonus and 3 standard. I just mapped the ones not on the radar to RB, LB, and Y, so I still have access to them. I'm sure you all figured that out, but it's cool for people that haven't.

2) I see you can update the ammo for a weapon, but can you update the weapon? I saw some PC hacks where people make 12 shot/clip Widow. Stuff like that it cool to me, because I could modify certain weapons.

3) Is it possible to decrease power cooldown, even for just Shepard? I want to be able to do things like pull+slam instantly, or dominate/hack a whole squad.

Again, I just found this yesterday, so I haven't been able to get thru all 104 pages. I see some things require hex, but I haven't gotten into the specifics, but I have tried a few things and plan to do a bit more. Also, thanks to everyone that has contributed to this. This guide is absolutely amazing.

1- No powers besides bonus powers can be added to sheperd only. Everyone else is locke dout... for now, but dont get your hopes up.

So only shep can get bonus powers. As long as you make sure to take out the other powers.

2- Weaponry. With Gibbed or with Hex editing you can inrease the number of heat sinks. but not the number of rounds each sink provides.
Example: Revenants have 80 roudns per sink. You can increase the total sinks of 480 to 9999 if you want, but you can't change that each sink has 80 roundds.

3- On console only with Hex editing, and all the instructions are in the first page. One youget the hang of it, just let me know I'll give you the list of all the upgrade locations.

Example: The only way to decrease cooldowns is with hex, by increasing the number of biotic or tech upgrades you have.

I for example have 3 upgrades for tech/biotic cooldowns, and each has 20% meaning my powers recharge at 60% faster.

For squadies is a good difference, for shep is nearly instant recharge.

nevertheless. I strongly recommend you go through ALL the pages. Alot of info is found here... and yes i know is annoying but is totally worth it.

Thanks for the info. I have just been using Gibbed Exclusively right now, and I've been cool with that for now. I'm familiar with hex, so if you have a list or can point me to it, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also interested in adding the Shotgun to my Shepard as well. I exchanged the SMG for the Geth Pulse Rifle, but I also want to try that minigun, so I might change it back if its worth it. think I want to do Pistol, minigun or rifle, krogan shotgun, widow, heavy as my set, so I'll be looking to do that as well.

For the powers, I've been running well with the ones I have. I decided against Disruptor and Cyro Ammo, so I was able to take reset the points allocated to those and fill up with the wheel with bonus powers, and setting my Mapped Abilities to Incinerate, Cloak, and AI Hacking. I was thinking about swapping stuff out, but if I can't add other class abilities, then its not worth it. I saw the Mod Codes had some other class powers listed differently, so could I assign those as mapped powers instead? For instance, I see they have the shared abilities, like Drone, Pull, Shockwave. Could those be added, even if it's only as a quick ability? I would love to trade AI Hacking for Combat Drone.

Also, it's not annoying, I just know I misread and skip over stuff, so I wanted to know if the stuff I wanted was possible outside of what I had already seen.

You can only add bonus powers to shepperd. Thats pretty much it. You can't add normal powers like incinirate to shepperd. You can't add bonus powers to squadmates. Squadmates stay as they are.

here are th elist of upgrades If you read the instructions about hex on the first page this will make sense.

Here are the majority of the upgrade locations. Cursor placed right after Paragon Points location.

On the powers, that's cool. I figured but wanted to be sure.

Hex stuff makes sense I think. I saw the screen grab and the posts on lke page 100 - 102, so I think I know what I'm doing (that's why we make back-ups though right?). Thanks for the help on this, and 'm sure I'll be back.

Just for clarity's sake, Gibbed automatically corrects the checksum, right? I'm not sure what happened, but I'm sure I definitely cannot mod my saves anymore. Maybe it is because I am running Win7? Though I was running Win7 initially and I wasn't experiencing any issues. Nothing works. Not Hex editing, not Gibbed editing, nothing. I can't help but feel like I am doing something wrong, but I have followed this tutorial to the letter. I know that it works because it worked before.

What's worse, I still think it had something to do with that patch, which is weird, because I can't find any confirmation anywhere that BioWare even released a patch recently. Still, I'll continue messing around to find out just where I keep screwing up. Or maybe I am just crazy. . .

hmmm weird if it worked before it should work still.

to be absolutely and azzly honest. Your not following the instructions. now before you blow a kidney, I say it ebcause the same thing happended to me when Is tarted with hex.... was missing actually saving ti with gibbbed. i was opening the save after I hexed it with gibb but I saved it else where. ANd sicne I had many copies I was loading onto modio the wrong save. So

SO!!! if it worked before, it still will work. it just means you "think" you became so accustomed to the procedure that your missing something very mundane but still necessary.

now thats just my opinion from my personal experience.

Keep trying. start with a new game and follow every step and cross check. thats how I found out my problem.

You don't have to worry about upsetting me. I'm an adult, I can take it. lol

Anyway, Yeah, I know I am doing something wrong, but what I cannot figure out is what that something is. I deleted the patch that I thought was causing the trouble, and there is still no change, so no worries there (though, it is still strange that I can't find any confirmation that the patch is even legit, but whatever)

I have carefully watched my steps and I think I may have found what is causing the problems. After I make the edits in Gibbed, and replace the old unmodded save with the new one, after I resign and rehash the file, it seems to be corrupting. Or at least I think so.

After I rehash and resign, if I open the save in modio again and extract the save files to a new folder, I noticed all of the save files, except for the autosave file, have 0KB in them. This includes all numbered saves and the file titled charactersave. I'm not sure why. I honestly can't figure it out, but there it is.

Somewhere between me rehashing the file and loading it back onto my USB the files are losing all of their data. Any ideas?

Ok... I think I see the problem. "replacing" a save directly by overwriting it gives me gas... or it gives my console gas.

i never "replace" anything.  Erase Save 000X first. Then inject the newly modded save. At least for me that corrupts my save. or it doesn't allow me to save the game after opening it for some reason.

Not sure I understand the 0kb thing. You got me there.

This is what I do.

before doing ANYTHING. Make 2 saves on you ME2 game, Example. I am at Normandy. I save... lets say #14. Then I save again quickly. Make #15. This means 14 and 15 are pretty much copies. 14 being backup, number 15 the one your going to mmod.
1-Plug USB
2- Extract File onto a file
3- Open said file on Modio
4- Extract the modio individual saves onto the same fiel you extracted the original career file (aka soldier, sentinel w/e)
5- Open last save on gibb aka number 15
6- Save the ...save :P on the same file. Make sure you dont by accident save it elsewhere... it happens if your dealing with back up saves.
7-After you saved the game, close gibb.
8-Reopen gibb and check that your save has retain your saves.
9- Go to modio, erase number 15 save
10-Select inject file, choose number 15
11- Click rehas and resign once... I do it twi btw... just reflex from playing MMO's double click to attack cast bla bla bla.
12- Close that little modio window, but not modio.
13- Open that career save again, extract last number 15
14- Open the new modded 15 in gibb. If everything checks out fine close gibb
15-Delelte the career save on the USBtax w/e that program is called first
16- Now inject the career
17-Select close driver

If after that it doesn't work.... I would smack the pc a couple of times :P

Yep. I'm definitely doing it right.

Everything went fine until step 14 on your list.

For whatever reason, after I rehash the file, all the content in the file is deleted. This leads me to believe that it must be something wrong with my modio. I'll try deleting it and reinstalling it and see if that works. Otherwise, I'll just have to quit modding for a while, or look for an alternative to modio.

Anyway, thanks for all your help, bro. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

EDIT: Yep. Redownloaded Modio and I'm back to modding again. Again, let me just thank you guys for helping me out with this, I really couldn't have done it otherwise.

Yeah. For whatever reason, Modio was corrupting the saves whenever I rehashed and resigned it. Deleted Modio and reinstalled it and everything is working great.

Got the hex stuff, so I'm all good. Now I can really start doing fun stuff like making a true adept (base adapt+slam+reave+dominate+barrier+warp ammo) or something crazy, like a "Cyber Nerd" class with all the Tech abilities.

Also thinking about swapping out my Geth Rifle for another one. I don't have the DLC, so I'm thinking about going with the revenant.

Also, for people unfamiliar with Hex (like me to an extent), I think it might be cool to add that info to the first post, but also explain the GoTo. I got confused for a minute on what +X meant, so some changes weren't working right, and I probably messed something up.
