Does anyone know if you could mod ME1 the same as ME2 ?

I really want Conrad's hairstyle from the first game and some of those NPC armors.

I figure I should mention that my attempt to transfer my modded save to a buddy's 360 via a USB drive was a no-go -- showed as corrupted. Apparently, you need the proprietary memory cards to do that, which is typical MS shiestiness. There's probably some way to circumvent that and make USBs work cross-360s, but from my searching that way hasn't been found yet. Too bad.

wait wait wait.... I gave my neighbor a modded sentinel...and he used it...... or was it normal save.... crap can't rememer

I think there are ways to circumvent this issue, I'll try some and come back.  Of course, the easy way is to just mod one of his saves.
You can use a usb or even have your friend email an extracted save to you if he's not confident of modding it himself.

I can confirm that you can mod a squad member into the new DLC Arrival if anyone wants to avoid the solo thing. I have Miri and the Doc as a squad at the moment.

Thanks.
Do you just have to add them under the squad in gibbeds?

Yeah I added Miri in just before the doc joins you by checking the in squad box. The game took her out again though when we moved from the prison to the project base. I'm going to try to re-add (2 this time) before the next fight and see if it works.

Just played through it myself, solo with an unmodded save and the fights can be quite tough.  Gonna give it a go with my insanity infiltrator next to try and get the sneaky achievement.

I forgot about the stealth achievement - what do I need to do?

I did get "last stand" on insanity with a legit character.  I used my area reave sentinal thinking survivability was probably going to be necessary - and it was, I'm not sure I could get through that section with some of the other classes.  My exploding tech armor and the extra health from reave saved me a few times.  I swore out loud when the heavy mech showed up!!  This is now the hardest part of the game I think.

I was actually hoping they were going to introduce a kind of "survive" mode on this level where the waves just kept coming and coming until you died, kinda bummed they didn't.

I also can't get extra squad mates to work on the project base.  I only tried twice but I'm not sure I care that much anyway since it will be at least 2 mods even if it can work somehow.  The squadmates are listed when you get your weapons and armor after the mech too, they just aren't there.

I've got the game paused at the moment and I'm liking the music that's playing alot too.

I liked it a lot even though it's not bridging the gap really and there are a few plot holes.
I did my first run with my Revenant Soldier on Normal and jeez, that last stand was a b!tch.  When I heard the order to activate the heavy mechs, plural, I just thanked the stars I had Cain with me! This fight is probably the reason that, unlike Shadowbroker, there isn't an Insanity achievement.
Oh, and I thought it was just gonna be wave upon wave until the took me down.

Somebody did a Vanguard video (), which I'll try, but not sure I fancy my adept in this one.

As for the sneaky achievement, you have to rescue her - I think get to her cell - without drawing any hostile attention; not sure if varren count.

Anyone care to give me a quick msg run down... or detailed of what arrival is really about.

Never really trusted the whole "bridge gapping dlc" idea from Bioware. And want to know the story before considering to purchase it. If not then at the end of the year when they give a nice discount.

any big fleet arriving in horizon type of thing?

I haven't been following this exchange so maybe I'm missing part of the issue but I've done this for ME2 and more recently Dead Space, you just have to make sure that you change the profile ids and the device ids in modio to your own id numbers.  Remember too that NuTitan's first post here was to offer his hex edited Shep for others to use, which people did, but most of us just pestered him for the screen shot so we could do what ever we wanted ourselves.

Sorry if this is useless and you guys are talking about something else.

Thanks, got it now.  I like the DLC too, but like you I'm a little underwhelmed by the writing.

I haven't gotten it myself, I was reading a lot of comments on it and it seems to be very short, like 45 min to do everything, weak storyline, no new gear, that's what I've gotten from reading comments anyways. Wouldn't be surprising though, a quick money grab is on par with what's been done so far. I was hoping for another Shadow broker type dlc. Again, this is what I've read, haven't played it myself, can't really see buying it for 560 points though, doesn't sound worth it.

It's no Shadowbroker that's for sure, but then I thought SB was better than anything in the regular game so that's a pretty high bar.  If you like combat I would recommend it, as it has what might be the hardest part of the game and you have to do it solo - plus lots of other fights too.  If you like more story elements, new gear or weapons and choices that matter take a pass and watch on Youtube.

m3h got feed back in quantity and nah.

they set the bar pretty high for shadow broker. and that was 800 points. Saw it on my friend who I convinced to get it. Hell to the N.O.

if Shadow Broker is 800 a bar set by Bioware itself. then Arrival should not be worth anywhere near 400.

basic proportional Math. if shadow broker is 800.... anything else can't be near even 1/4 of its price

I'll wait until the end of the year to get it cheaper.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

And bioware.... seriously dont know what math you doing but.....proportions... is high school algebra... you know setting equations :P

I'm trying to extract my charcters face from the save file for use in 3ds max. gibbed's editor allows me to export the mesh and gather all the co-ordinates for the vertice but there's 2,232. i'm wondering if the mesh exported by gibbeds has a format which is readable by any modelling program, or if there is a script to import vertice's from a text file.

Any help would great, thanks.

Additional: Great thread, it's added many hours to my game over this past year, thanks for all the contribution.
Additional additional: Personally i thought arrival was great, story lacked a bit but it was fun. It's also funny when you fail.

Sorry, I know a little bit of stuff relating to this, but not enough to help.  Best I can do is refer you to http://www.masseffec...php?faceID=1148 someone there may well be able to assist more if nobody else comes back here.

PS: Thanks for the feedback on Arrival, I agree, it's fun but a little weak on story.  Think I might still be on a downer for BW thanks to DA2 (again fun, but weak).

Don't use the medical bay upgrade.

Yeah, but if he plays paragon they will gradually go away - ( I think anyway,  god it's been so long since I played an unmodded game)

I think if you max out both paragon and renegade points in Gibbed they will stay in the half way state for the whole game, if as Mark B points out, you don't use the med bay.

I think they slowly go away if you're paragon and slowly get worse if you're renegade - but I'm not betting any money!

A few weeks ago a friend of mine who got the game on ps3 was trying to describe something he hated in the game when he was done I told him "that's how you find N7 missions, it's not so bad" , he said "no not that", finally I realized he was talking about scanning for minerals - I had totally forgotten that was in the game!

I hope ME3 is as moddable because I would not have played this game 1/4 as much as I did if I couldn't mod it.

Let's hope someone makes a tool as good as gibbeds.
OK I can Hex edit some things myself, easily enough, but the save editor makes it so much easier.

I think Gibbed is still making save editors for the PC so hopefully he will make another one for ME3.  Someone else tweaked Gibbed's tool last time to make it Xbox compatable after he made it but I think that's an easy tweak so I'm pretty hopeful.

moDS!!!!! :P sry had to yell out that. Like I said before I hope future games have the ability to just plug the pc keyboard into the actual console aka xbox.... #???? and just press ~ so we can put console commands. sigh....

would be so kool. Consoles and pc players playing together always. Little difference in the coding between pc and xbox (seeing as they are the same damn company for god sakes)...

So kool to play an MMO online on xbox.... with someone on pc.... so kool lol

Still erm back on topic.

All I know is modding comprises 8 of the 10 playthorughs on mass effect 2. So 80% of the drive to play came from me or others who helped me not from the developers and their gre...erm I mean thoughtful ideas :P
