Oh. MOVE them. Yeah, I'm an idiot. Anyways, I just put a standard USB key in the Xbox, had it do the formatting when prompted, and then tried to COPY it. Not MOVE it. Incidentally, I have a habit of missing really, really obvious things. Thanks for the help, though

I'll check tomorrow and get back to you when I inevitably screw something else up.

Before ME3 comes out I want to experience all the plot differences in ME2 so I created a new character that lets the council die, but I keep getting the dialogue about a human dominated council and so on.

On the ME wiki it says there's a third option. One where the council dies, but is replaced by a multi-racial council:

“In 2183, the heart of the galactic community suffered a devastating attack.

The Citadel space station was invaded by a synthetic geth army attempting to open a portal for the Reapers: enormous machines that eradicate all organic civilization every 50,000 years. Commander Shepard led the defense, but the Citadel Council was lost.

Now, the new human-led Council attempts to quell rumors of the Reapers' return. Hoping to ease public concern, they've sent Commander Shepard and the starship Normandy to wipe out all remaining geth resistance.”

How do I use Gibbed's to get that text? I can't figure it out. I either get the one where the Council survives or the one where there is an all-human council.

Help, please.

Wiki states:
"Focusing on Sovereign and abandoning the Council sees the Destiny
Ascension destroyed and the Council killed, resulting in a new Council
being formed with Captain Anderson
or Ambassador Udina as chairman. Depending on the player's
paragon/renegade score, Ambassador Udina either states the necessity for
the new Council to be assembled of only one species - the humans, or
merely calls for a human chairman in a multi-species Council. This
however has no real impact on the story, as Mass Effect 2 will not treat
these outcomes differently.
"

Don't think you can do anything about this on gibbeds - you either saved them or you didn't.

Can I change my Shepard's appearance even when I'm in the middle of the game? At certain angles his cheek-bones are way to tapered, his eyes too small and I don't like how his nose looks. I don't know how to change it, though.

Gibbed's editor lets you change the headmorph on any save.  If you want to change major facial features, IIRC ME2 allows this when you import your character into a new career---so you could start a new career (doesn't have to be same class, but does have to be same gender), and then edit the features on startup.  After your first save, you can export that headmorph and import it into your current career.  Note the headmorph is saved for each game save, so it can be different for each save.  (That is also how some players change gender to progress same sex romances.)

Alternately, there are some parameters under RawTab->player->morphhead->{morph features, offset bones, scalar parms, vector parms}  that control the facial features, but it is rather a trial-and-error process.

I personally keep copies of headmorphs that I like, and periodically change skin/hair/eye colors, etc.

Some people post headmorphs on MassEffectFaces also, but I prefer my own.  (Note: these are probably all pcsavs, which are not compatible with XanderChaos' Gibbed editor for the Xbox---they are little Endian.  If you want to go this route, I'm working on a modification of the editor that will deal with the cross-platform issues. Let me know.)

The only way to change mid game is with gibbed, and it's a bit complicated if you are just tweaking and don't want to do a whole new head morph.

Here is how what appears in Gibbed's tabs relates to the sliders.  The intent of the article was to allow someone to get an actual ME2 facecode from an ME1 import but it will give you the necessary information on how to tweak anything you don't like mid-game in the save editor.  I fixed a few things on my ME1 Shep this way.  This guy put a lot of time into this.

I may be remembering wrong but I don't think you ever get to edit an imported ME1 Shep in the creator, you can try to redo it completely from scratch but I don't think you can tweak starting from your creation.  If your Shep is a ME2 creation you can just get the face code and plug it in and then tweak from there - obviously not mid game though.

Both this and the Quarian Shield Capacitor (http://masseffect.wi...onic_Array).PNG) exist in game and would bepossible to turn on through hex editting however the issue is locating them in the save.  Finding the gaps in the upgrades list (page 99) is probably the best place to start.

If I find out more I'll come back.

I did it once, but it screwed with my save, preventing me from using the research terminal. I think I had some absurd values for the upgrades (like in the hundreds or thousands) and had to bring them back down to get things working properly. Even after fixing it there were problems with my save- I couldn't open the journal without the game freezing.

The ME1 choices are only taken into account at the start of an ME2 game, so no I'm afraid you'd have to start a NG+ based on a save you've editted to have your preferred ME1 choices.

See my post on the previous page regarding how to do this without having to finish the game.

I read the post--  thank-you!
However I was wondering: will that method prevent me from getting advanced weapon training later on?

No, you should be fine (provided the save you mod hasn't got it already).

I just need to say to everyone answering questions on this thread, and helping us idiots with modding our 360 saves:

YOU ARE ALL SAINTS.

I lost all of my ME saves recently when my Xbox was dropped by a certain sister of mine(Love her to death, but genuine murder entered my mind when I heard). That was easily 20 ME1 careers careers, all level 60, all completed. And about the same number of ME2 saves at various levels of completion. That was about a solid month of my life in those save games alone. They were my babies, and now they're gone forever. Posted Image

But thanks to you(and my own habit of saving face codes in a document on my computer), this has not been the disaster I had originally thought it was. I still needed to buy a new xbox(sister paid for it), but I don't have to go back and replay all of those careers in ME1. With help from this thread, I'm well on my way to performing my own Lazarus project on my ME1 saves. I won't get the same import bonuses, and it will take a little longer to get to level 30, but those are prices I'm willing to pay. Also, they might have issues when importing to ME3, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I just wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sorry to hear about your sister/xbox interface issues.

As regards ME1 histories, I covered how to do this a page or so back.  One thing I would say though is as ME1 histories only take effect NG+ imports, therefore ME2 recognises them fine, I doubt there will be any issues with ME3 unless you have a modded appearance, by which I mean custom hair, eyes, etc and even then noboby's sure.

Lastly, when you start your NG+ character, you should get some of the bonuses, if not all and you can always just mod it again to give it the credits & resources you should have - or additonal ones so you don't have to mine the whole galaxy for the 21st time.

Just as a thought.  Did you try to read the hard drive in another computer or Xbox?  Maybe some of the game saves can be recovered?  (Not that I've tried this...but I certainly would if something like that happened to me.)

Yep, I tried. The hard drive isn't even readable anymore. The Xbox dropped right on the hard drive, and fell down half a flight of stairs. Both the Xbox and the HD were DOA. Why my sister wanted to play Fable 2 upstairs is beyond me. I still haven't apologised for ****ing her out for that. I'm kind of brooding about it right now. I'll forgive her in a few days, I'm sure. Doesn't mean I'm not going to be vindictive for a few more, just to let her squirm. She deserves it.

Right now, I'm just looking at the bright side of this whole situation. I'm sooooo glad this thread exists. I'm slowly rebuilding my save games from memory. In fact, there are some plot flags I wanted to change on a few of them. For instance, I was never able to bring myself to kill the Rachni queen in ME1, even if it was something that my Shepard would have done. Clicking a few plot flags in the save editor is a lot easier on my conscience. And I'll just pretend in that playthrough that the Rachni queen was really an evil, plotting **** who inteded to take over the galaxy just like her ancestors tried to do. So she actually deserved it, and I never killed the innocent surivior of a once-dead race. Posted Image

Innocent?  She's genetically wired to destroy all other species.  Since she communicates telepathimusically (with songs?) she just knows what to tell you to get away until she is strong enough to destroy you. It's just your anthropomorphism of her that is making her seem so innocent.

There. Did that help your conscience?  :D

Just looked at your PC/Xbox tool, which with my new PC version of ME2 may come in handy (if I ever get round to playing it), many thanks.
