Hey Pordis, is there anyway to give squadmates extra abilities?

Not sure.  I haven't seen anything too promising yet. :(

Or maybe I should say yet :)

[btw  I assume this source file is from Gibbed---so another kudos to Gibbed for all the work.]

I don't think these are in the save files.
The only thing that would be in them would be the evolution choices, I expect.

As I understand it, they are doing that on the PC with external texture mod programs---so no I don't think so.

[Edit:  Yes, certainly more choices than what is in game.  I'm not sure what HED_Addn_Colour_Vector does, but I think it may do what you want.  I just looked and I don't think it's a highlight, maybe something like eyebrow colors???]

Maybe.  Gibbed gives you access to a hair colour and a highlight colour (I think).  Look in raw tab->morph head->vector parameters:  HED_Hair_Colour_Vector, and HED_Addn_Colour_Vector.  Play around with the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) values.  As a starting point, you can pick some colours in MS Paint (for example) and look at the RGB values for that colour. [Edit: I think Paint uses integers 0-255, so maybe divide the integers by 255 to get a decimal value for Gibbed.  I hope to have easier access to these colours in a new version, hopefully before long.]

*Please note:  This is one thing I changed in my version of Gibbed.  The RGB values order was RGBA before expanding and something like ABGR after expanding.  I changed mine to RGBA after expanding.  So just pay attention to which is called R, which is G, etc. since my ordering is different than the original Gibbed.  (It just bothered me to have it change after expansion---what can I say?)

Is there a way to make all missions solo? At least for the combat portion? My modded shepard is a badass, even on insanity I can destroy all enemies with only my biotics. But it's annoying when you throw a pull field on a group of enemies, just wanting to see a warp bomb blow them all away, but garrus and zaeed snipe them before you get the chance. I wanna walk around terminator style just taking everyone out on my own. Is it possible?

Yes, but you have to save and mod at the beginning of each mission.  Under henchmen flags uncheck the in squad boxes for whoever is in your squad and you'll be solo.  Be warned though that some missions require a squad member to trigger dialogue or you'll get stuck.  For example you can't leave the last room of Samara's recruitment mission until you mod a squad member back in because their dialogue triggers the option to return to the police station.

Oh damn, thats not good. I guess I'll just leave it alone then. I don't wanna have to run into that issue and have to mod every single mission. What about weapons? Can you mod the game so that whoever is in ur party is carrying like just a pistol instead of the more powerful weapons? That would make things a lot more like solo play IMO.

Yes you could do that. It's probably better to also not have them levelled up in any way and to order them into the middle of the battlefield to get killed before you really even begin to play.

You can also mod them to have no guns, but then they will look pretty wierd because they will stand with their arms outstretched and they will move by just sliding around on the ground without moving their legs - they won't fight at all though.

Edit:  If you aren't already doing this I would reccomend playing with your save right on the usb so you don't need to go back and forth to the dashboard when you mod.  If your save is on the usb you can just pull  it out whenever you want (you'll get a message on screen that a save device that is needed has been removed) and stick it into your computer and do the mod.  Unchecking the in squad boxes is a pretty quick mod and then just keep all the solo saves of your favourite missions to play again.  When you put the usb back in the message will go away and you can load the save you modded.

I have all my favourite missions saved with just me and Liara (as far as the game is concerned that is the same as being solo since she won't speak anyway) and it wasn't that big a deal to make them.

I'm not that hardcore gamer so maybe I'm way off here but,  doesn't the game let you set the squad AI so they only attack defensively---and then you can arm them with pistols?  And maybe even tell them to go sit in a corner so they don't try to attack so much?

They will still shoot pulled enemies and ruin a lot of his combos before he can warp bomb them.  The game's AI is programmed to always focus first on the floating enemies and even shut off they will still do it unfortunately.

I had no idea you could take away their weapons entirely, I'm assuming they'll still use biotics/tech? How do I go about removing their weapons?

I've only ever done it by accident, but here's what I remember.

First, it will look like this - which I find too game breaking to use myself.

They can still use their powers as you can see in the video but they won't shoot.  I'm not sure if they can die or if enemies will even shoot at them though.  All the times I got this glitch in game (you can do it to Shep too) were the result of screwing up the weapons codes - leaving them blank might work too.  So the easiest thing to do is probably just go to the weapons and loadout sections of Gibbed and either mis-spell the weapons codes or delete them all together.

I never really explored playing like this so that's about all I know, I also think I remember that this will continue from mission to mission too (until you fix it) so you won't need to keep redoing this mod.  Honestly though, it looks kinda weird.

I just uploaded r1b6 which should have all the interesting variables from PC Tweaks that Gibbed had listed in me2 plot variables source. Post any errors or problems on the project discussion page (or here). Or pm me if you prefer.

And remember, backup---be safe out there.:police:

Thanks for your help, I'll mess around with it a bit and see if I can get it to work. Can't wait to walk around like the deadliest son of a **** in space! lol

Anyone know how to remove squad mates weapons? If you look at the post right before this you'll know why I'm asking. I've tried putting "mispelled" weapon codes and deleting the weapon codes but no luck.

Hmmm, I guess there is something else I'm not remembering.

Edit:

You're doing something incorrectly, or maybe the word I used is the key, but I just put the word "none" in all 6 fields of my squad's weapon's loadout and they both (jack and kasumi) have their arms out with no guns now.

I've glanced through the OP and it's quite a lot to take in.

So, can you add ME1 choices to a new ME2 character? I've lost my saves and I'm pretty cheesed off.

So do you just make a new ME2 char, save when you wake up in the med bay. Then, move save to usb flash drive, put in PC, make plot choices from ME1, save, put back on flash drive and move back to ME2 folder on xbox?

Please excuse me if this has been answered in the last 117 pages or whatever.

The me1 plot choices only take effect on game import.  See this post of Mark B

If you have any desire to do excessive modding, I've extended Gibbed's editor.  You can check it out on my project page here.

[edit:  btw, if anyone has started a FAQ of things outdated or not well covered in the OP, I'll happily include it in my project.  Or maybe we can get Darth_Trethon or Javier to edit the OP?]

That's only true if you edit ME1 plot table, editing ME2 plot table gives instant effect (and yes, ME2 plot table does contain ME1 decisions).

I've never had a career with a double named character, but I've changed and loaded save files with double names and even hyphenated names---and they load and seem to play fine.  At the worst, you would only have to change it back in Gibbed, but I seriously doubt it is a problem.  The game allows it at character creation time IIRC.
