BTW, does this allows us easy access to DLC?

No, you need to pay for DLC. This only mods the save, not the actual configuration files. And you can't get DLC from modding that either.

I was just curious about the answer

I made use of this thread a few months back. I'm one of those poor souls that bought the PC version specifically for editing purposes and then this function came out and I felt bad.

Oh well, I can still do stuff in the coalesced.ini file and it feels so much cooler to open up the thing in a text editing program and search for, change, and see the finished product in game.

Plus I can do stuff on the PC version that the Xbox version can't do.

However, because all my DLCs are on my Xbox, this modding guide came in real handy with Paragon/Renegade choices and getting Legion for his oh-so-special lines of Dialog.

Thanks Javier for the update to the thread. I'm pretty ME'd out at this point (Have played over 10 games in ME1 with mostly identical choices and14+playthroughs of ME2) so I probably won't be playing it again till ME3 grabs my quad with white hot pliers and screams over my scream that I did it wrong, making me go all the way back to ME1 and play the series again.

Still, it's nice to have a resource like this.

Does adding just credits/resources/paragon/renegade points count?

I also added a ME1 history to a new character.

Still can't believe I managed to do it. It is surprisingly easy.

Thanks!

I have, some hex editing, appearance modifications, stuff like that. Upgrades for weapons and the like were  simple.

Sure of course :)

I'm happy more and more people are realizing how easy it is to bypass the tedium, it's made ME2 a great deal more enjoyable [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Very cool, welcome to thread.

Have you gotten any new accessories to load with textures?

I started the day before you updated the thread, and I really have no idea how I mined through previous playthroughs. But its the morality stuff that takes the cake for me. I love being able to play "my" shepard and not "well I want to be able to diffuse a situation later in the game so now I can't push that guy out a window" shepard. Also got to use the revenant and claymore for the first time. Good stuff.

Accessories? Not yet, unfortunately. I've tried using the original Gibbed's save editor (though I don't believe that section has been changed). Nevertheless, I've found this all incredibly useful for retaining interest in Mass Effect, seeing as it had gone somewhat stale over the months. I just going through semi-legitimately right now, with a few extra upgrades, and then I'll go through as some biotic god (reference fully intended) on my next run-through.

This is primarily the reason why I mod. After doing 5 plus playthroughs, I don't want to waste time metagaming, or mining, or even hacking money PDA's, and it's fun from a roleplaying perspective to outfit anyone with my squad with weapons I feel they should already be able use, like the assault rifle on Jacob

Aaaand bookmarked thread. I'll be sure to try some of this out later, but I'll only really do appearance changes and things like that. I feel it would be wrong to turn myself into a God in-game, those Krogan have to have some chance.

I also hope Bill Gates doesn't knock down my door with the cyber police in tow.

You're modifying the save itself, not the console. There is literally nothing anyone can do about it.
And hey, you're already a god as an Adept on Casual. Why not turn it up to eleven?/shot
*totally isn't planning that for her next playthrough*

In any case, mods really do keep the game fresh. While I don't have time to play as often as I might like, it's nevertheless true that there is literally no downside to modding your game. And besides, playing through with cybernetic eyes is f'ing badass.

How exactly did you get that to work (and is that on the 360)?  Is there anyway to mod bonus powers on squadmates?

[Edit: I keep getting the quotes wrong.]
See the OP near the end for what you can do on 360: :wizard:Docs for Modding Xbox 360 ME2 - Google Docs:wizard:
And yes, this is all on the 360.

Hehe, yeah it's amazing, feels more like the ME1 end game Adept.

Try encounter a group of mercs, and all in 3 seconds cast Area Reave to rip their shields, Singularity, Pull, warp bomb, and then shockwave and then Slam anything else left alive !!

So to become this biotic god, I would just go into Raw > Plot > Biotic Cooldown, and then insert some arbitrary high number, and then begin laughing maniacally? Or is there more to it than that?

Edit: Or I could use the now brutally obvious Skills/Upgrades tab. Switching to the newer save editor has thrown me for a loop.:P

for me its more area reeve area reeve shields gone then shockwave, throw, shockwave, throw, throw, shockwave all dead
some time i go slam instead of throw depends on the enemy

id use more power  but i hate to have to pause the game(unless im about to die then i love pause) so i map 3 power and i spam them like crazy

 Hey Guys,

Sorry I'm new to this and I had a question.

I copied all my ME1 saves onto my USB but when I go to the PC I don't see those files. And Modio doesn't show anything either. It says no device found.

Help?

ME1 saves?
In any case, I believe that if Modio doesn't show anything, than it may be a problem with the USB drive itself. Personally, I use USB XTAF because I'm an old school BAMF like that/shotdownanddead, but if I'm not mistaken, Modio should enable you to get the saves from the drive itself. I'm afraid that I'm not the best person to ask for help with Modio, though, seeing as I use it primarily for Rehashing and Resigning as well as injecting new saves.
