I tried that by making a new game, and then injecting it into the file while I was still in the first level on the game. I put the flash drive back in, and there was a save file there, but I couldn't open it. Is there a certain point I'm supposed to wait for?

A few questions:
  • Did you mod the new game?
  • Did you create an .xbsav game or a .pcsav game?  (If you see it I assume .xbsav, but gotta check)
  • Have you tried injecting a known working game to make sure it's not something other than the game save?
You should be able to take a game save right from the moment you wake up and Miranda is telling you to get the pistol.  (There are some weapons and things that need to wait 'til after Freedom's Progress to work properly, but headmorphs and abilities and history and such should be fine.  Also, I don't think any of those things would prevent the game from loading---they just might not work as expected.)

ya wen you do thing befor freedom (that should only be donne after)i dont think the game wont load it just screw the mission auto activation up so usualy freedom mission wont start and things like that.

P.S. dont equip yourself with armor piece you didnot buy yet it srew the save up.
wen i did it i was able to load the save but could not save it again from the game and auto save didnt work either the turning disc in the botom of the screen apear like it did save but tey are nowerre to be found.

P.S.S. hope that was clear end of the day for me working night so my head is a litle fusy right now

Yeah but the problem for me is that it just won't open; when I click on it, it doesn't do anything.

I've tried it with a different game save, but I just tried to give myself more credits/minerals. The exact same thing happened; a new save game that can't be clicked on appears.

Would this cause problems if I already have Genesis installed? Even when importing a ME2 career, Genesis still activates.

I've tried google, the search feature and simply skimming, so any help is appreciated.

I'm about to start a new game, and would like to use Gibbed's updated features to unlock all weapon/tech/biotic/whatnot upgrades from the beginning. The starting figures are set at zero, if I recall correctly. Which number should be used to unlock all upgrades?

Thanks.

EDIT: Duh. I completely missed the Google docs linked in the OP. I also failed to realize that the needed instructions are present right there in Gibbed.

I'm sure this has been addressed at one point in these 130+ pages. I tried modding my male Shep's hair with the hair mesh codes in the Google Doc, but in-game it shows up as black bowl hair cut instead of the mohawk I wanted.

I loaded the save back into Gib's and noticed that the hair mesh code was now labeled as "None." Has anyone experienced this before and does anyone know how to fix it? I tried putting in the hair code I had before, which were Formal spikes, to revert my hair back to normal but it remained a black bowl haircut in the game.

I know the mohawk requires more changes than other hairstyles.  I originally did a femshep using the instructions here and it worked.  I assume mshep is similar, but I never really played around with it except the once.

Let us (or Javier really) know if you find errors in his tutorial.

Ooh that could work, it looks like I'm gonna have to do some alterations to the texture codes since all I have is the Mohawk texture code. I'll fiddle around with this new learned knowledge and let someone know if it works out. Thanks for the clarification.

I copied my Mass Effect 2 save file to a USB flash drive, and plugged it in to my computer. My save files weren't there. I read some where that this doesn't work with certain USB flash drives. Does anyone know if this is the case or am I doing something wrong? If it is the USB flash drive could you recommend a cheap one to buy for modding Mass Effect 2?

I used two different PNY brand flash drives and my files didn't seem to appear on my computer.  I am also aware I can't copy a ME save I just used a poor choice of words. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for your suggestion.

  • What software are you using to look at the usb drive on your pc?
  • What do you see on the usb?
  • Are you following the OP, or some other method to find your saves?
  • Do you still see the saves if you look at the usb on the xbox?
(Sorry for the wall of questions. Just trying to problem solve. :)

Edit:  FWIW I use a cheap Kingston.  I would think if the xbox formats it okay it should be fine.

You can't just put your flash drive into your computer and look for the file. You're going to have to download Modio and use it to explore your device to locate your ME2 file. Extract the file to a place you'll find it again, and open it up by clicking on Opening a Save and then click on File Contents which will contain your saves for the career you chose to you wish to mod. I hope this is the problem you are having.

Does USBXTAF work better than Modio? I've never tried it.

I have not personally tried it, but some prefer it. My understanding is that it is more single purpose, whereas Modio adds additional capabilities for other games.

Either way I would give it a shot if u think modio may be causing u problems.

ok for clarification pupose usbxtaf is only used to explore the usb drive so you use it to extract the save from the usb to your pc then you open the extracted save in modio to extract the individual save file wich you then edit with gibbed

NB its a usb explorer you can see every thing that is on your usb in a clear list(well not so much but once your used to the 360 storage jiberish its quite simple took me like a minute to figure out what is what)

Not sure if I should ask but...

Is it possible to edit some Codex entries?

What about the SB dossiers? I would like to add and change some things about your squad members. Also, I would love to make a dossier about Shepard.

I'm not sure they have that even on pc, but you can ask or search the pc forum,  here I think is the appropriate one.

But as c3pu2 said, it prob involves at least changing disc contents, which is not possible on xbox.
