Question: I downloaded both the Gibbed Xbox Save Editor and the USB XTAF Xplorer archives. The link under "here" for the Save Editor took me to a Source file (is that the right one?) which dumps a whole load of directories and a .sln file on my desktop and no application that I can find and the XTAF Xplorer download extracts only a readme and USBXTAFGUI application which gives me an "Application failed to innitialize properly" error whenever I try to open it. Am I doing something wrong here? Did I not download the correct files?

What operating system are you using? The "here" link should only open 4 things that you MUST keep in the same folder(see picture in my opening post) and the XTAF should give you a folder with 2 things in it one of which is the USB XTAF and the other is a file called io.dll which you should never touch.

I'm running Windows XP Professional. The "here" link led to a "Gibbed ME2 Editor (X360) Source.zip" file which contained the following:

/bin
/Gibbed.Helpers
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.AudioExtract
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.FileFormat
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.SaveEdit
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.Test
Gibbed.MassEffect2.sln
readme.txt

The USB XTAF Xplorer .rar extracted the following:

USBXTAFGUI.exe
readme.txt

If I download the .zip version from megaupload.com it extracts a USB XTAF Xplorer.exe and io.dll file but again the executable gives me an "Application failed to initialize properly" error.

Use my link to download the USB XTAF because in all likelyhood your computer can't read .rar files. I provided a zip file in my opening post. As far as gibbed's contents are concerned ALL those HAVE to be in the same folder(just create one yourself and move them in there) or the save editor will NOT work correctly.

It's cool. I tracked down the problem. I just needed to update my .NET drivers. Now they all work fine.

What drivers did you update?  I'm having the same problem and I know it's not zip or rar related.  I've extracted the program, have the green shortcut icon on my desktop, but get the error message whenever I try to open.

Is there a way to give squadmate more powers and to get infinite ammo? I'm trying to make ME2 more like ME1.

I would help but I have no idea what the problem is. I don't remember if it was the Editor or Modio that needed certain updates to function properly otherwise it will display an error message when opening. That's the best I can do, maybe someone else knows more.

I tried giving squadmates the bonus loyalty powers, but it didn't work.

As far as I know the unhalded error occurs in only 2 kinds of situations:

1) When trying to open the character save(something like Name_32_Infiltrator_230310) which simply put will NOT happen. The editor only works with individual saves like Save_0012.xbsav

2) When trying to open a 360 save file in the PC version of Gibbed's.

Replying to Blackashes:
Well, on my FemShep, lip color is easily alterable with "Lip tint". I've had pure white, purple, reddish brown, etc. Works exactly like the eyes do, just "more sensitive" to RGB number changes.

As for Ashley's features--I tried, didn't get any results. Fiddling around with the "morph" options changing everything else to "0" but selecting "1" for Ashley's eye shape, lips, race, and something else---didn't make the slightest change. I tried it with both a custom and vanilla head, and also tried the same for Liara. (strangely, my custom head I've used since ME 1 is listed as ".8" for Liara eye shape--I figure Bioware simply use that as a basis for one of the custom eye options)   Seems the vertices override morphs, and it'd be insane to try to figure out vertex settings.

Ashley's hair SHAPE can be gotten, but the texture seems to be missing.  I've tried 2 different listings I've found for her hair textures, but neither works.  Someone somewhere must know the correct file names.

Thank you anyways,   Modio and usb xtaf work fine.   I think it's the editor.  it won't recognize the xbox save file

The Microsoft .NET driver package(s). You can get them from www.windowsupdate.com under Optional Software Updates.

The individual saves are really tiny....about 500kb and your character save depends on how many individual saves are in it. At any rate you should have space for quite a lot of ME2 saves on a 1 GB stick.

Will the mods reset after when I start an NG+ playthrough after beating the game? Somehow I think I'll have to do everything again. Also is infinite ammo possible? I'd also like to know if anyone has used ME1's armor. In the PC version those armors are unlocked through mods. I heard that casual outfits didn't work.

No as far as we know armor mods aren't possible in gibbed's. As for the mods resetting....some do and some don't. Appearence mods like hair, eyes and color mods don't reset upon importing but just about everything else will(ie your weapons, ammo, minerals, morality, credits...etc.). You cannot have infinite ammo but you can have more than you can possibly use in one playthrough. I usually set all my ammo ammounts to 999999.

Ugh, I was hoping they would stay as they were. I guess it's too bad for ME1 armor it seems like I'll have to hope and wait for DLC in regards to that. Well at least hair and eyes stay the way they are. I've heard that we can use yellow eyes. I'd like to know what the codes for that are. I set my ammo to 1000 and 800 for my assault rifle and pistol. Once I wasted whatever I have will that go back up to 1000 and 800 or do I have to put it back?

EDIT: One more thing. Does the game get too easy if I max out all my powers or does is it still moderately hard?

For yellow eyes the values: B=0 G=1 and R=1 should work....if it's too unoticeable try rising G and R above 1.

Your health and shields don't increase and the powers are only as good as your ability to make use of them.

You can change the eye shape? o_o; How is this done?
