thats surprising, might look into getting a team or whatever together to try make one. should be really easy, just something that better explains what each flag represents and which combos contradict each other.

hehehe. lol it is a nice screen shot :P. Ah well I guess ME2 reached its apex in modding. Resonable given ME3 is coming out soon anyways.

Eager to get Syndicate before ME3 :P

I messed up~ (even though I swear I didn't)

So I did a replay on my main shep with the hairstyle and hair/eyebrow/eye colour that I really wanted. And thats all I did until last night, when I gave her some more renegade points, credits, and resources (and I tweaked her eye/eyebrow colour a bit). And now I can't save the game. I can load, but I can't save or delete existing saves.

It also does this other thing where it will freeze, which has only happened during a loading screen. When this happens, I have to leave the console alone for a few hours (until it cools off?) otherwise it won't load any of my profiles at all. It's also worth mentioning that I keep my gamertag and saves on a usb because I frequently use more than one console (mine, my brother's, my friend's, break room console etc) and the freezing thing has only happened on my console which is a newer model.

:(

I play from my usb for the same reason.  That shouldn't be any problem.   Does this happen with other career files or just this one?

Read this recent post and see if it addresses your problems.

Edit:  I see you have registered pc games... but you are playing this on xbox?  You might try the suspicious game saves on your pc also.  My version of Gibbed will convert your xbsav files to pcsav  (just drop the pcsav into any me2 pc career directory... you don't have to create a new pt.  Perhaps rename it to, say Save_1001.pcsav so it doesn't conflict with your other saves.)

As an aside, the pc is very nice for playing around with colour/feature mods, since you can mod the game save directly and immediately load your change without stopping the game.

2nd Edit:  Thinking more about this, I would guess the most probable cause would be a career file that is getting too large (around or over the 1mb size).  I have noticed problems with game saves when this happens, even without modding.  And now with all the dlc, the game saves seem to get larger than they used to be.

I've only tried modding this one file so far, so all my other careers are "pristine". I did recently pick up a bunch of the DLC and I always have near the limit on saves, so I'll extract a few/a lot of them via Modio and see how that goes. I'll also try the suggestions in that post and post results.

PC isn't an option; those games in my profile are actually on the Mac (except ME2 which I got for free with DA2 or something). I looked into running ME2 through bootcamp, but I needed to do stuff with Wine, and then VMware, and then I needed to get more memory.... and then I realized it was too much trouble so I just went and bought the games for 360.

Thanks :)

i had a problem like that a while back but i absolutely cant remember why it did that it must be some were in the forum though

you should try to take youre backup save and do the exact same thing that you did  the first time and see if it does it again

Good.  It sounds like the size problem with the container file that I have seen.  Other than the trouble of moving saves to the pc, it shouldn't stop you from keeping as many saves as you want.  But I generally find that about 10 is as many as I can safely keep on xbox without running into trouble.

I know this is a bit late, 155 pages in. But I'm having real trouble transferring my PC save of ME2 onto my xbox, I've managed to get it on to the HDD and the save shows up in game but when I try and load the save file, nothing happens.
I've tried loading saves with and without the DLC dependancies (using gibbed) but nothing seems t load. I'd really like to put my .pcsave on to the xbox.

Help would be much appreciated, thanks :)

If there is a problem with dlc dependencies, the game will give you a specific warning and refuse to load the save.

So you are loading a pc save file into an existing xbox career?  And you converted it with gibbed to an xbsav file? Can you load other game saves okay?

Can you give a little more detail about exactly the steps you took?

Here are some steps to follow:

  • Prepare you pc save by opening it with Gibbed, then saving as xbsav format. (Note you can change the name on pc to help remember what it is if you need to. It just needs to be changed back---or copied---to the Save_0010.xbsav format before you try to use it in the game.)
  • Move your xbox career to your usb stick.
  • Put the usb into your pc and open Modio.
  • Open the career in Modio
Note: I prefer to extract the whole career to pc so I can work with a copy. By default Modio extracts it to a default directory (iirc somewhere in the user's documents). After you copy it you can open the copy with modio.
  • Since you are just using your pc file you don't need to extract any of the game saves. I would just inject the pc->xbsav file you prepared in step 1 into the container (maybe as Save_0002.xbsav).
Note you can rename the file with Modio after injecting it.
  • rehash/resign
  • load the career back to usb device.
  • eject and remove the usb
  • test it on the xbox
You should be able to load the career directly from the usb (you might need to press Y or something to load from a different device). I know some ppl do have trouble loading saves from usb sticks, but I never have.

Edit:  For pc -> xbox ppl looking for an xbox container.. give me a bit and I'll put up a link to one you can try.  Or better, try to get one from a friend.   But  Caveat Emptor.  I will not assume responsibility for ppl borking their saves.

Okay there is a John_32_Soldier_060312.zip file in my project files you can use for a container.  Use at your own risk.  I had to zip it to upload the file.  Unzip before using.

I'm not sure where I was going wrong, but following your steps it worked perfectly.

Thanks again :) :D

Will this affect my save in anyway? I've heard of saves being unable to carry over to the next game because of mods like this.

Read this post.  Especially the link to Chris Priestly's comments.  Then you must make your own decision.

Personally, I feel if it imports into me2 without problems it should be okay.  But obviously none of this can be tested until me3 is released.  Plus it is unreasonable of us to expect bioware to ensure compatibility with anything except their own work.

Just curious but is there any way to edit ME2 romances using this editor? Would be quicker than starting a whole new playthrough.

No.  This editor doesn't have the me2 plot or romances.  You can look over on masseffect2saves.com to see if they have a game save that meets your requirements.  But that's all I have to suggest.  Sorry.

Thanks, I know earlier in this thread someone, think it was you, said the newest version of gibbeds could convert pc saves to xbox, so will probably try that

although, on my current career prior to actually pursuing a romance with any of the npc's i created a fall back save, so would it be possible to start a new career and then using modio transfer that save file into the new career, that way I can start with like half the loyalty missions completed?

One final question, can't seem to find the post explaining how to copy PC ME2 saves to XBOX, after I save it as a .xbsav do I just inject it into a career and then rehash resign like normal or is there something special I have to do to?

Yup no problem whatsoever. If fact the only issue I have noticed putting saves into a career is that if the name/class/etc doesn't match the career, it just shows up strangely in the career selection---but it plays fine.

Hi guys I have a few questions and I dont feel like reading through 155 pages to see if someone has the answer :P So hopefully you guys can answer them for me :)
Ok so question 1) Where can I download the latest version of Gibbed?
2) How do I give my squad mates weapons they shouldn't have? (example: Jacob using an avenger)
3) Can and if so how do i give shep. another power? I noticed that in the power wheel there's always an empty spot.
4) Can and how do i convert pc saves into xbox saves? And my pc save is modded (shep. wearing miri's clothes) will that transfer over if i convert it to a xbox save?
and finally 5) Is there a way that I could mod my xbox save so I can wear miri's clothes? Just in case #4 doesnt work :P
If you guys can answer these questions I'd very much appreciate it :D

The OP in this forum answers most of your questions.  It has a link to my project and near the end is a link to Javier's tutorial.  I think his tutorial covers what you need about weapons and powers, but by project also has a file of interesting posts including a couple here and here talking about the power wheel.

pc game saves should transfer fine as long as you have the dlc (if not you may have to remove some dlc dependencies under the raw tab).

Unfortunately, the pc mods for dress do not work on xbox.  Even the berets do not seem to show up properly.  AFAIK there is no fix for this. :(
