Hi, I have a question.

When importing the save onto my PC, Modio can't seem to find any profiles. I double checked, and my Paragon save is most definitely on my USB. What do I do now?

You know your save is there because you see it from the xbox? or how?
Which Modio version are you using?  I have heard the beta 4 has problems.
Can you explore the usb and see anything using modio? (Sorry, I forget exactly what Modio calls the explore option)

I transfered the save from my 360, and double-checked (after my first initial failure to find 'profiles' on Modio) to see if my save file was still on there; it was. I've used both 4.0 and 3.0 (albeit 3.0 being cracked, but I doubt this has anything to do with it), yet it still can't seem to find any profiles.

EDIT: Here are some screenshots

The files that windows explorer shows are just the formatting that xbox does.  Windows doesn't read what is inside the files (xbox uses a fatx filesystem).

If you moved them to the usb, the xbox should be able to find the gamesaves on your usb device though, under system->storage.

Last time I looked the Modio 3 was available from their site again.  But at this point, you might want to try c3pu2's suggestion and just see if usbxtaf works for you.

You can get it back onto your Xbox easy if you have a flash drive and the USB XTAF program (google it).

1. Get a flash drive and insert it into your Xbox and configure your flash drive so that you can put game saves on it. (Settings > Sytem > Storage > Scroll onto your flash drive > Press Y for device options > Customize)

2. Plug your flash drive into your computer and open up USB XTAF.

3. Find you Mass Effect 2 folder and insert your main game save into it. (it will be easy for you to find the folder if you first save one of you ME2 saves onto your flash drive, which you can do on your Xbox)

Thanks for the help,

I've only got my last save game file after completing the game i.e Save_0359.xbsav.
I've tried injecting this onto my usb but it just goes into the folder for a different career.
Is there any way to create a new career for this save file?

P.S i tried loading up the save game and it runs perfect except for it being in the wrong career :-(

Sure, just create another career with same class/name/etc (not absolutely necessary, but it makes the organisation nicer).  Save immediately upon waking up.  You will have an xbox container file named <name>_XY_<class>_<date>.
See here for details on the naming.

Stick your Save_0359.xbsav into that container.  (I haven't used usbxtaf, just modio so not sure how/if usbxtaf injects files into an xbox container)

Hey sorry to jump in on this late, I've only read the first few pages of the thread.  In gearing up for ME3, I wanted to have some save files ready for different outcomes (mainly Paragon/Renegade and different LIs).

With this process is it possible to duplicate a career and make multiple versions of it, even if I've completed all the content? (I know I can mess with class, ability points, P/R score...) so I don't have to try to rush through a bunch of playthroughs to get different choices to carry over? For example:

Save 1 (default):  Shepard romanced Ashley in ME1, Miranda in ME2.

Save 2: Change it so Shepard was loyal to ME1 LI.  Basically trick the game into thinking the Miranda romance never happened

Save 3: Same thing, but change it so game thinks Liara was my ME1 LI, and carried over Ashley romance never happened, and Miranda ME2 romance never happened.

I appreciate the help!

Hi. I've tried my best to find an answer for this and can't seem to find it. I've started a new game and modded a few things. (Level, ability points, bonus talents) But when I recruit new people (Mordin, Garrus, so far) they have 0 ability points. Anyone know how to fix this?

Update: Figured this one out. I was dumb. I was thinking of Mass Effect 1 and had my level set at 50. Of course nobody got any points! Changed it to 30 and all is peachy keen. ;)

Thanks for the help it worked perfectly

This is a huge thread but anyone know if you can change a thing like save the reaper base in ME2?
I destroyed it in very play and the one i plan to import has everything done even all of the DLCs
Instead of loading a olddddddddd save to replay the ending and all of the other things can it be done via an editor? I mean gibbs does not show a flag for this....or does it?

Hi, We've just released version r1b8 of the Modified Gibbed Save Editor.
This includes 2 new tabs, Research and Mission Rewards.
There are also some new found plot values available, including:
- The state of the crew at the end of the game
- Whether or not you rewrote the heretic geth
- Whether or not you've destroyed the collector base
Read the notes on the plot table tab on how to use them.

Get it here: social.bioware.com/project/4373/

What new things can we do now?
I haven't checked this forum in over a year and before we could only use different hairstyles.

Have you guys found a way to change Shepard's casual outfit?
Is there a mod available now that can use someone else's facial texture now?

You're right, I forgot to add the second value related to that. I've put up a new version (r1b8b) that fixes this.
Thanks for the heads up ;)

I am learning the hard way,
Small tip: Use high quality USB flash drives also insert flash drive into computer when the computer is off.
As it happens plugging in the flash drive into the computer while it is on, well my computer likes to install new hardware every time something is pluged in,
though I've used this flash drive many times before, this would wipe everything the Xbox 360 saved on the flash drive loosing precious data
Also the Xbox 360 did not allow me to copy the game save only move the game save, so no back up
I am currently trying to regain lost play time, skip through long slow cutscenes/dialog.

Support is too strong of a word.  Tolerate so long as you don't affect other ppls play and don't whine about the consequences would prob be more accurate.  And this has been about modding a single player game.  I'm sure there will be problems if ppl try to mod the MP play of me3.  That said, this is my take on things along with a link to Chris Priestly's comment about it.

If the xbox formats it without problems it really should be fine.  If there is some warning about compatability then sure, I'd look for a better one.  I haven't had to use expensive ones, but I have tried Kingston and HP ones without problems.

The pc really shouldn't wipe out the data on the flash unless you allow it or tell it to format the usb.  And yes, the game saves can only be moved to the usb.  Same with GT if you happened to want to back it up.  (I usually play with my GT and saves on my usb since I play on one of 2 different xboxes depending who is on.  So I do keep my usb backed up on my pc.)

I believe this has always been possible, it's under the raw tab --> player --> appearance --> morph head --> hair mesh.

thanks, testing it now
Also, I noticed i had click the 'talk to mom' and then see that it's just a 'spacer' option.
So I am editing saves and unding that since my character is earthborn, lol
That sounds like a trigger that might cause a game to fail to import but better safe than sorry.
It didn't seem to affect my me2 play but I'm worried about me3 imports so I want few if any conflicts!

again thanks a ton and a me3 editor will be coming ?

ok i'm lost

i'm using modio 4 beta and i can't inject my files onto my usb

i've read through some of the posts but mst don't have my problem . . . only one person did but they said its under AddFile, i don't see that, i have an Open Save but when i use that i can't load anything, it gives me an error message saying "invalid Xbox Package, click continue to try and open or quit to close application"

is it b/c i changed the default program to open the .xbsav to the GibbedMESavEditor? if so, can i change the "default" program

any help would be very much appreciated

*edit - n/m . . . i figured it out, if anyone had my problem just go to Modio, right click on (example) save_0009.xbsav and click add file, then add your gibbed .xbsav file
