Dear Lord in Heaven, I've done it! Thank you Pordis Shepard for that fantastic idea!

so how did you end up fixing it? i have the same problem when trying to import my save aswell. the decsions don't import to ME3.

Create a new profile on Mass Effect 2 (Make the Gender the same, the name doesn't have to match if you don't want it to) and get up to the part where Shep wakes up. Make 1 save and export your game to THIS version of modio (others don't allow injection):
http://hotfile.com/d...odio_3.zip.html

Get whatever save you want, and inject it. Rehas/Resign, load up the save and you're good to go. add me on XBL, I'll be glad to help you.

I'll take you up on that offer, have been trying to figure this out all day.

alright, i made a new save on ME2, i woke up an saved the game. i opened it up in modio and injected my already completed saved that is editied to my likings into the new container. the roots of the new save contain xbsave0001. and my edited save along with the autosave. still didn't work when i tried importing to ME3.

do i edit the brand new save to my likings? or can i just rename my already edited save save xbsave0001.?

"2) Fire up ME2 on Xbox 360 and create a new career with the same name as your PC career (e.g. mine was "Jack" Shepard - dare to be different)
3) Run through and get to the first point you can save - after Shepard wakes up and leaves the infirmary"

Can anyone upload the new career save from an xbox 360 ME2?

I no longer have my copy and I have a save I want to use but apparently I need to start up a fresh copy of ME2 on Xbox and save as soon as Shepard wakes up.

I really do not want to buy another copy of ME2.

Thanks for all the support so far in this thread!

This might have already been asked, but I don't feel like spending hours poring through the thread. I converted an ME2 PC save to an Xbox save and I put it on a flash drive, but the 360 won't recognize that there's a save on the drive and I can't move it over. I don't have ME2 on 360. Is there some kind of hidden trick here?

Unfortunately, the save must be created on your own console, to appropriately tag it with the correct hardware identifiers.

You will need to obtain a copy of Mass Effect 2 for the XBox 360, even if only temporarily, so that you can create a save data item.  The save file must be injected into that save data item.

Luckily Pordis Shepard has one for you if you cannot obtain one. It is in the section of downloads in their profile.

@rsloan76 I have heard ppl with at least a few mods importing okay, but idk exactly the extent of issues. Certainly facecode mods can cause problems... even the unmodded me1 faces don't import.

ppl moving from pc. The xbox uses a container file to hold the game saves for me2. See my post here and the links it references. I personally haven't tried me3 yet, but this did work fine for import into me2.

All ME2 mods seem to work. The problem seems to be ME1 Editor, Romance mainly (Sad face no Ashley or Liara)

Edit: Not sure if it was something I was doing wrong with editor. but I doubt it since I got a final save from ME2, modded it very slightly to be like the character I lost. Everything seems to work (class changes, final plot choices, ME2 Romance, etc) Just not allowing me to mod it so Ashley is the ME1 Romance. I'll mod it and then import and it'll say 'No Romance in ME1'. Even though the final save already had Ashley as the ME1 Romance.

It'll say corrupted or save won't appear when importing ME3.

That sounds more like inconsistent flags or some such.  Maybe compare your settings with settings from a save off of masseffect2saves.com with the romance options you want.

btw I just quickly imported one of my saves and it went fine (except for headmorph of course---no surprise there, you've seen my avatar, right?  ;P  ).

Did it allow you to change ME1 Romance? I did get my save from masseffect2saves.com. Making sure the romance for Ashley was there. (Maybe they lied when uploading) But I've tried a few different saves. All ending up with no ME1 romance.

Hello everyone. I spent a lot of time cheching if someone had a simialar problem to mine but I wasn't able to find anyone, if someone had already addressed the forum with a similiar problem I'm sorry. I played through ME1 and ME2 on my PC, but now I have an xbox and my PC wouldn't support ME3 anyway, so I'd like to play ME3 on my xbox. Naturally I'd like to play it as soon as possible and the experience wouldn't be the same without my past saves. I converted my pc save into SaveExport.xbsav but I can't open it with modio, whenever I try opening it just says "can't open the file, invalid package error". I tryed putting it into different folders, renaming it and putting it into a flash drive, but nothing helped, I even tryed opening up a number of original PC saves, but those weren't opened too. Because of that I can't insert those saves to my flash and transport it to my xbox. I don't need any save editing or anything, I'm just trying to play with my ME2 past PC saves on xbox. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Not on the save I tried, no.  I can prob round one up to try tonight or tomorrow though.   Is it just on the opening character import screen decisions you are speaking of?

So far my (rather heavily) modded ME2 save is working in ME3. The face code imported, but my custom hair style and eye color are gone. So, minus my slightly less attractive femshep, I'd say the modding didn't mess the games up. Some other people having problems might be experiencing glitches that have nothing to do with using gibbed.

I currently do not own Mass Effect 1 or 2 on either PC or Xbox 360. Do I NEED to play ME1/2 on my xbox then mod it on pc in order to get my perfect playthrough for ME3 on the 360?

I have the 360 version of Mass Effect 3 and only that and I don't have any old saves anymore (new HDD), is it possible to mod a PC ME2 save file?

I have 2 save files on ME2 (both completed) on my 360 but they where just "joke" playthroughs. Can I use those instead?

I tried all the steps in the first post and nothing worked :(

Depends what your "perfect" playthrough is. xD

Yes.  At least it works for me2 import and I don't see why not for me3, although I'm not positive it has been tried.

Gibbed doesn't have access to every plot point in me2.  It wasn't ever a game save creator, although it does quite a lot.  There are also game saves on masseffect2saves.com that might be closer to what you want.  idk.

So far my face codes didn't work. I dont know why but whenever I... "click that the early save is done" thing. So I dont have to import from ME1 or finish me2 the face code goes away in the squad menu.

I just loaded an earlier one with the same face and I copied the code to ME3... unfortunately it looks NOTHING like my guy from ME2... like nuthing at all. me1 and me2 it looks similar, to me3... doesn't look similar at all.

HOpefully modding comes soon. Because the universal cooldown ****y idea is still alive and kicking which drives me nuts... I take nothing but a rifle to make sure I got a 200% bonus on cooldown which is ridiculous. But oh well.

Dont know why tech powers biotics and combat powers dont have their own cooldown.

Also ... I miss my star glowing orange TIM eyes. :P

NOTE: for refenrece of anyone.

My game was modded.

Upgrades, Ammo, TIM eyes.

Funny enough during collector base, my ammo reseted to normal.

When importing to ME3. face didn't import and having 10 rifle upgrades didn't matter.

Powers imported all fine, although I had to go back and reset all my powers to lv 3, coz I dont like some of the powers in me3 which were already chosen for me. This was before the reset powers thing which I have to pay for now... bastard greedy a-holes.

FYI: i like working for the private miitary contractor sector... far better funded. Normandy looks like a quarian ship... is like I can barely walk without stepping on a cable or a box of some kind :P

I did everything exactly as the original post said. Then when I go to ME3 importer none of the changes took effect, it was as if I never touched it.

Also I found a PERFECT PC save file, can I use that instead? Maybe I missed a step. I'll try it again and if it won't work I'll detail every single aspect lol, sorry for the troubles but thanks anyways for being supportive!

EDIT: I'm having a little trouble figuring out gibbed ME2 saved editor but I think I can manage through it. I really don't know what I'm doing here lol, what's the difference between me1 plot table and imported plot table? Is there anything specific that I need to put to get it on? is there anything that will cause it not to work?

EDIT2: Gibbed save editor doesn't include dlc...or I just don't know how.

EDIT3: Okay, I've done everything by the book and now I'm at the part where I have to "inject" files. Do I inject files into folder or into root?

EDIT4: Gah it didn't work again. The import showed no changes! Uhh why doesn't bioware make a genesis comic and save us all the trouble of repeating hours and hours again?

I'm tired, I guess my playthrough won't have wrex, kaiden, alien council, rachni, geth, or any of that awesome jazz.

<snip>

Are you trying to import an me1 designed face?  If so you might want to try the workarounds in this forum OP.  The problem seems to be that the faces from me1 never have face codes in the saves (or if they do the face codes are *not* for the me1 face but for a face the person started customising).  I am helping my son try that.  I have a code for his to try, but won't be able to try until tonight to see how well it works.

The pc save I think should work fine.  See my post a little way above for pc to xbox conversions, if you need.

The raw tab has a place for dlc dependencies in the file, but I've only used it to remove dependencies, not insert dependencies.  I think that would be problematic since it would create the dependency but not insert the plot points and decisions for that dlc.

I think part of the issue is that this editor is not a game save creator.  It is intended to tweak saves for play in me2, not create a finished me2 save complete with me2 decisions for import into me3.

On the xbox for me2, the game saves are inside an xbox container file (the career file).  Gibbed works with the game saves, Modio and usbxtaf work with the containers and the xbox formatted usb stick.

hth.

Pordis, if I've switched consoles since playing/selling ME1 & 2, and my save files won't open properly after being extracted...

How do I use one of the masseffect2saves without an xbox container file to inject it into?

Is it possible to download one? Or do I have to go buy a copy of ME2?

I'm okay with switching to someone else's similar path, but the instructions seem to suggest that I need a working xbox container from this console to inject it into?

I'm not sure I understand.  Your saves won't open with Gibbed?  That would only be a windows permissions problem.

You *must* have an xbox container to use game saves on xbox.  No other options.  I supplied a default one in my project files  with the ID's nulled you are welcome to use.   If ppl are having trouble with the one I supplied and you think it is because of the null ID's let me know, describe the problem, and I'll see if I can figure out what you need to do.  Because I have successfully used me2 careers that did not belong to my profile before without problem in me2.

If anyone is having trouble with Modio telling you there is no profile to upload the career file to, try starting an me3 game with your usb in the xbox.  Tell me3 to save the game to the usb storage.  I think this will create the file structure Modio is looking for on your usb.   Tell me if this doesn't work.

2 last things (I'm doing this now)

Do I need ME2 once this is all over to save again or can I just go directly to ME3 and import this save once it's finished?

Second which inject option do I use? Inject from folder or inject into root? Thanks for your patience! :D
