This might have already been asked, but I don't feel like spending hours poring through the thread. I converted an ME2 PC save to an Xbox save and I put it on a flash drive, but the 360 won't recognize that there's a save on the drive and I can't move it over. I don't have ME2 on 360. Is there some kind of hidden trick here?

You will need to obtain a copy of Mass Effect 2 for the XBox 360, even if only temporarily, so that you can create a save data item.  The save file must be injected into that save data item.

Luckily Pordis Shepard has one for you if you cannot obtain one. It is in the section of downloads in their profile.

Alright so how do I go about making a save data item and injecting it into that shell?

Heres my current situation and hopefully someone can help. I sadly lack the knowledge of how to do all of these things and dont even understand the terminology you guys use to explain a process. So my situation is that ive beaten ME1 to a save of my liking but had to get a new HDD. Therefore I just played through ME2 and got ME3 yesterday to notice that basically all the decisions are different from ones I made in ME1. This saddens me deeply and I see a lot of people having success in getting saves to work but I am completely clueless on how to perform this. Id love to basically have a ME save with all decisions from ME1 & 2 be like I had them before. I dont play on PC, I strictly play on XBOX and I do have a USB drive but again cant get ANY of this to work. Any help is MUCH MUCH MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The romance problems might just be a problem with the xbox version of importing. =/
Gonna try to get it right again.

Yup, went on ME2 saves and got me a save file that was perfect for me and just followed your instructions! Everything is working like a charm! Thanks!

How do I change who I pursued a relationship with? I already beat the suicide mission, but I never pursued a relationship and I want to have one on this character for when I import it to ME3.

Baaah, can't get xbox to read any of the saves as completed ME2 saves ready for import.
Every save I try (modded only slightly, mostly name.) doesn't show up in the import window in ME3. ):
Bioware we need a genesis comic now! Getting tired of this. There should of been comic with realease date. -.-

Edit: Somehow ME2 file root became corrupted. Guess I'm running through start of ME2 again to make another root folder. Damn you, Bioware~

You can't. Download a new save from masseffect2saves, or just play ME2 again (I advise against it, though).

YES, Got it to work perfectly with a perfect save. Some of those saves on Masseffect2saves.com just suck, gotta route through them to find a really good one.

If you are talking about me1 romances, you can change the me2 plot flags:  uncheck no romance and check Ashley/Kaidan/Liara  <--- choose one.

If you mean me2 romances, you'll have to do that in game by chatting them up.

If you don't have a game save yourself, you'll need to get one from a friend, or find something you like from masseffect2saves.com.  Make name/notoriety/origin changes and save into the career shell.  Make sure under the raw tab the game finished "Lived to fight another day" is checked.   (Be sure to get completed saves, otherwise you'll have to finish them to get all the plot choices from me2.)

The OP in this forum is quite detailed including pictures of what to do.  Have you tried following the steps in it?  If so, where are you getting lost?

If you want to edit your current me2 save, you can change the options included under the me2 plot tab and it will take effect in your me2 save.  Please note that the editor does not prevent you from choosing conflicting plot choices, so be careful what you select.  Conflicting choices will likely bork your import into me3.

If enough people request it, I will make a full (to some extent) guide of the process to transfer masseffect2saves.com files to the xbox 360. It's the least I could do. Let me know if this is something that you'd want, or if it's been done already.

If you are willing to write it up, I'm sure we can get Javier to add it to the OP.   One thing that might be good is a walkthrough beginning with a clean formatted usb stick.  I'm currently trying to help someone get the proper directory structure on it, since the person didn't have me2 saves to create the structure on the usb.  fwiw, using me3 to create a game save on the usb will create the profile structure needed by modio.   Not sure yet if modio will create the me2 directory from the blank container I posted in my files.

I strongly suspect you're doing something wrong. Modio won't give an error when injecting a file - are you trying to OPEN the file, or just inject it into an open career file? All you want to do is go to file contents, right-click, and select "inject file into this directory".

If you're doing that already then I don't have additional suggestions - sorry!

1) Upload your saves to EL's site and download them as xbsav files
2) Fire up ME2 on Xbox 360 and create a new career with the same name as your PC career (e.g. mine was "Jack" Shepard - dare to be different)
3) Run through and get to the first point you can save - after Shepard wakes up and leaves the infirmary
4) Quit to Xbox home screen, go to settings, and go to Memory
5) Open your HD in the menu, then navigate to games - ME2 - your career save
6) MOVE career save onto your Xbox formatted USB drive (it will not copy)
7) Plug the USB into your computer and fire up Modio; hit "Open Save from Device"
8) Navigate to your career save, pop it open, and go into File Contents
9) Now's where those converted files you downloaded come in - inject those (properly formatted: Save_000x) into the career save file. Detailed instructions for this available at the top of this topic
10) Rehash, resign, save file, eject USB
11) Transfer career save back from USB-->Xbox
12) Open ME2, open career save, and enjoy

Cheers.

I'm not doing anything wrong. I used this program when I would mod my Borderlands saves. So I know what I am doing, I am just getting error messages from Modio.

I missed earlier maybe, but which version of Modio are you using?  3.0 or the beta 4?  (3.0 should work, not sure about beta 4)
What is the error message?
Will the Modio/Explore device function allow you to extract the career file?

Creating the structure is as simple as playing through the first 10 minutes of Mass Effect 2. Assuming you don't bore yourself to death with the cutscenes. Would it be possible to manual inject the folder structure into the Data Partition?

So I'm not really sure where else to ask this. Couldn't find a ME3 modding forum on here, and since you guys have been really helpful in the past I thought I'd ask. I saw online that you could hex edit your money, I did so and it worked just fine. I got the idea to try it with my skill points and it worked... or so I thought. I had 81 points, gave myself 999, maxed everything out, but when I walk into a new area that requires loading, all my skills r set back to zero, the points r gone too, not all of them, just the ones I used. So I started with 999, and then ended up with like 860 or something like that, but my skills were at zero, it keeps happening over and over, anyone know why? or how to fix it, if not I understand, actually if you could point me to a ME3 modding thread that would work too.

I think so.   I have someone who is testing this tomorrow.  Well today now, I guess.  He first ran into the problem that there was no profile on the usb for Modio to save it to.  Using me3 to create a save on the usb fixed that.

Note: this is for ppl without me2, since otherwise they could create the container file themselves, too.

The only reason that I think this would happen is if your Level isn't porportional to your skill points. Even Level 60 =/= 999 skill points. Just a theory.

Also, I'd advise against modding the game on your first playthough. It ruins the fun and makes the game tedious.

Well I do have some good news, and some questions.

The good news is I corrected my corrupted save notice by downloading the Modio 3 link provided a page back, Rehashing and Resigning and that fixed it.

I do have a question though, even though I have an almost maxed out Paragon bar, I lost Jacks loyalty after her Loyalty mission because of the fight between her and Miranda.

Now for some reason I was not allowed to pick the argument that would save me the trouble, instead I had to choose between Jack and Miranda.

And when I try to talk to jack to get her loyalty back, neither option is highlighted for me to select so I can't.

Is there a way to mod back her loyalty, or does anyone know the correct percentage of Paragon points I need to get the dialogue option highlighted?

I tried modding 2000 paragon points, but for some reason that save file won't even load. So any help in trying to get her loyalty back would be great.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you can change the loyalty in gibbed under Plot>Henchmen>Flags , at least that's the only thing I can think of, unless someone else knows a different way I'd try that.

I think your right, I'm just gonna play the regular way, at least my first 3 or 4 playthroughs, the money thing got me the weapons I needed anyway, maybe after I'm done they'll be a good editor out or something, thanks for bringing me back from the dark side lol.

Make sure you aren't trying to use the beta 4.  Not sure if it works.  And make sure you have .NET3.5 or later installed.

You can also use usbxtaf.  Some ppl prefer it to Modio.

It works perfectly fine for me... Make sure you're using Modio 3, not the BETA Modio 4, though, as that may be a probable cause. Hope that helps!
