Well I do have some good news, and some questions.

The good news is I corrected my corrupted save notice by downloading the Modio 3 link provided a page back, Rehashing and Resigning and that fixed it.

I do have a question though, even though I have an almost maxed out Paragon bar, I lost Jacks loyalty after her Loyalty mission because of the fight between her and Miranda.

Now for some reason I was not allowed to pick the argument that would save me the trouble, instead I had to choose between Jack and Miranda.

And when I try to talk to jack to get her loyalty back, neither option is highlighted for me to select so I can't.

Is there a way to mod back her loyalty, or does anyone know the correct percentage of Paragon points I need to get the dialogue option highlighted?

I tried modding 2000 paragon points, but for some reason that save file won't even load. So any help in trying to get her loyalty back would be great.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you can change the loyalty in gibbed under Plot>Henchmen>Flags , at least that's the only thing I can think of, unless someone else knows a different way I'd try that.

It worked, thanks for the help man.  Thought now everytime I try to talk to her, she just says "F--- Off! "  I am guessing that is part of the game right?

I've never delt with this before, both modding and losing someones loyalty only to get it back.

Make sure you aren't trying to use the beta 4.  Not sure if it works.  And make sure you have .NET3.5 or later installed.

I can confirm Beta 4 works for this. But it seems really easy to corrupt your ME2 Root file. (Make sure to close modio before removing flash drive.)

Good to know.  However, the site does says things "may break" as they work on it.  So do be careful of the beta software.

I used the Gibbed editor to alter a Mass Effect 2 save file I pulled from the MESaves site. I altered the origin from Earthborn to Spacer and from War Hero to Sole Survivor. When I reopen the file in Gibbed its retained all of my changes, however when I import the file to ME3 it goes back to showing Earthborn/War Hero. Any ideas what went wrong?

Not sure, unless the import function is also using information from the container file.  See this post for info about naming the container file (which you can rename in Modio right on the usb).

The only other thing I can thing of off hand is if you forgot to "load to device" so the copy on the usb didn't actually get changed.

Does anyone know if the rewrite/destroy heretics flags work in ME3? I just changed mine, but it still says I rewrote them in the journal.

Alright so how do I go about making a save data item and injecting it into that shell?

If you don't have a game save yourself, you'll need to get one from a friend, or find something you like from masseffect2saves.com.  Make name/notoriety/origin changes and save into the career shell.  Make sure under the raw tab the game finished "Lived to fight another day" is checked.   (Be sure to get completed saves, otherwise you'll have to finish them to get all the plot choices from me2.)

I guess I misunderstood. I have my own ME2 save and I've converted it to Xbox format. What I don't understand is how to get it so that my Xbox recognizes that there's a save on my flash drive.

Sorry if it seems like I'm being difficult, it's been a long while since I've ever done any screwing around with my games.

Sorry if I'm being thick right now... kinda tired.

So do you have an me2 career file?   And the xbox can't find it?

If this is a completely clean usb without having any saves at all on it you need to get some profile structure on it.
Since you already have me3 xbox the easiest way to get the proper structure is to start me3 (a throwaway game) and save a game to the usb while it is plugged in.  (If you can't save to it then move the hdd save to it afterwards.)

Then in modio explore device (or similar in usbxtaf), you should see some structure like this:
Content
|
--> E0000xxxxxxx <- your profile ID
      |
       -->454108CE <-- Mass Effect 2 game ID
            |
            --> 00000001 <-- game saves
                 |
John_32_Soldier_060312 <-- the game saves here
                   Jane_12_Infiltrator_060312

Except you'll have something for me3 instead of me2 under your profile.  Create the me2 directory (454108ce) under your profile like the me3 one. Under that create 00000001 and put your career container in there.*

*Note:  I'm not certain, but you may have to enter your profile ID into the career when you have it open in Modio.

Give that a try.  One person reported it worked for them.

Is there any way to do this at all if I don't have a copy of Mass Effect 2 handy? If so, how could I go about that? I have a good game save from MassEffect2Saves.com, but don't know how to effectively go from that to getting it Xbox-ready.

Thanks in advance. From just reading this thread, you're a huge help to everyone here. I'd just like to make note of that.

Oh, is it similar to that process up there? ^^ Still not 100% clear on that process. So I CAN create the directory and Xbox save without needing ME2 to do it for me, but I do have to have some sort of save on the USB device so that it has the correct structure for my Gamertag, correct?

The flag is updated and ME3 should recognize it correctly, the journal in ME2 isn't updated however.

I think you need the correct profile structure (although perhaps it wouldn't have to be yours), but the easiest way is to either create a game save there (you have me3 now), or copy/move some other gamesave to the usb.  That will create the proper profile structure.

Then follow the instructions above.  One person has said this worked fine for importing into me3.

Ok,
I have created an Xbox Savefile with ME 3 on a flash drive. I have opened it with Modio, I created a new folder named "Mass Effect 2 (454108CE)" and in this a folder named "Game Saves (00000001)" (thats the exact name as I typed it in). I opened the "Game Saves (00000001)" folder and insert the SaveExport2.xbsav.
When I try to open the Save it says "Invalid Package".
I created the xsbav via this: http://legion.cal24.pl/me2/ from my own PC Mass Effect 2 savefile. I edited the file with Gibbed and saved it as an Xbox-Savefile. (I only changed that I saved Ashley and not Kaidan in ME:1, didnt touch anything else).

So I'm kinda stuck right now. Is that already it? Dont I have to do something else? Am I doing it totally wrong??? :maxconfused:

Edit:
Ok, so I actually am doing it all wrong.

Question:
I have the given Filestructure (ME 3) that is required. How do I add the Mass Effect 2 folder correctly?

How do I insert my Savefile into that folder? The file is from the end of masseffect 2 (PC) after finishing the main questline, exportet to a Xboxsavefile (which is automatically named SaveExport.xbsav).

Edit 2:

Progress: I have now only inserted the numbers given by Pordis instead of complete names for the folders. That worked.
I have inserted the "john" save from Pordis for the Xbox. This one can be opened by Modio.
Now when I open the "john_32_Soldier_060312" with modio I see only a "Autosave.xbsav"
How do I progress from here? Do I have to "Inject file" or "inject file into root"? Will this work with my "SaveExport2.xbsav" or do I have to rename that file first? Will my Character really be called "John" and will he be a soldier as the name of pordis file says? If so: how do I change that?
And what about "Profile ID" and "Device ID" on Modio "General File Info"??? It just shows a line of zeros. Do I have to edit this? If so: how?

Hoping someone can help:

I've used Modified-Gibbed-r1b8b to alter my ME2 save so that it looks like I have played ME1, for import into ME3.

The modded save shows up in ME3 no problem, but all of the options I ticked in Gibbed havent taken effect. I changed it so that Wrex was alive, I let the Rachni queen live and saved the Council, oh and romanced Liara.

When I import in ME3 none of the above is recognised. Wrex dead, no romance, etc.

I saved my changes in Gibbed, injected into Modio, rehashed and resigned and saved, then put it back onto my XBOX via USB all according to instructions.

Any idea what I might have missed / why ME3 isnt recognising the changes I made with Gibbed?

I can load the changes in ME2 by the way, have test that, and Wreav has become Wrex, the Asari appears to give me a message from the Rachni queen and so on, so I know ME2 has accepted the changes, but ME3 wont ...

EDIT:  I also made a new cabinet by playing ME2 until the point I wake up, I injected my Gibbed save into that and tried opening that in ME3, which it will, theres 2 saves showing, the first 0001 and the modded 0177. So I know I've added the modded 0177 to this career as otherwise only 0001 would exist. But still ME3 doesnt see what I ticked in Gibbed and has Wrex dead etc.

FINALLY!

I did it. Thx a lot to Pordis.

So, thats what I did:

Required:
XBox-Ready Flashdrive with at least 1 Xbox-Save of Mass Effect 3

Step 1: PC saves -> xbox saves

Goto http://legion.cal24.....php/site/index
Uploaded the AutoSave, ChapterSave and the Save_# to it.
Downloaded them all as Xbox-Savefiles (I gave them their original Names back, but I dont know if that has any influence on the outcome)

Step 2: Modio - Filestructure

Opened the FlashDrive with my ME:3 - Xbox file in it with "Explore a Device", you will see:
partition
   - content (Gamesaves/Profiles/DLC)
      - '########## (large number, thats the Profile ID)
         - Mass Effect 3 (#####)
            - Game Saves (00000001)

Created a new Folder named 454108CE in the ############ Folder (next to Mass Effect 3)
Created a new Folder in that named 00000001
Inserted the "john" xboxfile from Pordis Shepard.

Step 3: Modio - importing your Savegame

Open From Device -> Mass Effect 3 (yes, 3 first!) -> Savefile from ME 3
Copied the "Porfile ID" and "Device ID" (General File Info) to a txt file
Open From Device -> Mass Effect 2 -> john
Inserted Profile ID and Device ID, than swapped to File Contents
Injected all my converted Savefiles from Step 1
"general file info" -> Rehash and Resign
Save to Device

Finish!
I can now import the character! GREAT!!!

Thx alot again Pordis.

EDIT:  My bad.  I didn't read your post carefully enough.  The only thing that comes to mind atm is you perhaps have a conflicting flag someplace and the import to me3 is changing things to defaults?

You might want to try a save from masseffect2saves.com with those choices and if it loads properly, examine the differences in flags.

2nd EDIT:  Is the Played me1 flag set?  me3 import may look at the flags differently than me2 game play.

I can run Gibbed and it works just perfect for me. But I can`t save the PC-saves as Xboxsaves with it (I could chose to do so, but for some odd reasons they were still saved as .pcsav)

I think if the extension is typed in already it might override the dropdown selection.  I'll try to check it out soon though.

If enough people request it, I will make a full (to some extent) guide of the process to transfer masseffect2saves.com files to the xbox 360. It's the least I could do. Let me know if this is something that you'd want, or if it's been done already.

If you are willing to write it up, I'm sure we can get Javier to add it to the OP.   One thing that might be good is a walkthrough beginning with a clean formatted usb stick.  I'm currently trying to help someone get the proper directory structure on it, since the person didn't have me2 saves to create the structure on the usb.  fwiw, using me3 to create a game save on the usb will create the profile structure needed by modio.   Not sure yet if modio will create the me2 directory from the blank container I posted in my files.

I would certainly appriciate it. There are great pieces of information in this thread but it still confuses me in what order to do what, so i dont mess up.

For the people wanting to change the plot outcome from ME1 for their ME3 import, after alot of trial and error I got this working for myself. I used http://social.biowar...t_file_id=11019 and set the appropriate checks in the Mass Effect 1 plot tab and also checked the box infront of Played Mass Effect 1 on the Player plot tab.

This might also work with the version of the editor mentioned in the OP, by setting the appropriate checks on the ME1 Plot table tab and not the ME1 Imported plot table tab, but I haven't tried that myself.

It seems like it should be really obvious, but how insactly do i move my fresh Mass Effect 2 save to the usb drive? I am using the move option but it tells me that this item cannot be transferred between storage devices.

That should be the correct thing to do.  The usb is formatted by your xbox, right?

Yes I did try it using the standard editor, not the XBOX only one, with that checked and using the ME1 Import plot table tab. I'm thinking ME3 looks at if there is any previous import from ME1 in the ME2 save file and if there isn't it assumes you didnt play ME1 and then uses the standard plot you get at the start of ME2 when you didn't play ME1.
