Hoping someone can help:
I've used Modified-Gibbed-r1b8b to alter my ME2 save so that it looks like I have played ME1, for import into ME3.

The modded save shows up in ME3 no problem, but all of the options I ticked in Gibbed havent taken effect. I changed it so that Wrex was alive, I let the Rachni queen live and saved the Council, oh and romanced Liara.

When I import in ME3 none of the above is recognised. Wrex dead, no romance, etc.

I saved my changes in Gibbed, injected into Modio, rehashed and resigned and saved, then put it back onto my XBOX via USB all according to instructions.

Any idea what I might have missed / why ME3 isnt recognising the changes I made with Gibbed?

I can load the changes in ME2 by the way, have test that, and Wreav has become Wrex, the Asari appears to give me a message from the Rachni queen and so on, so I know ME2 has accepted the changes, but ME3 wont ...

EDIT:  I also made a new cabinet by playing ME2 until the point I wake up, I injected my Gibbed save into that and tried opening that in ME3, which it will, theres 2 saves showing, the first 0001 and the modded 0177. So I know I've added the modded 0177 to this career as otherwise only 0001 would exist. But still ME3 doesnt see what I ticked in Gibbed and has Wrex dead etc.

EDIT:  My bad.  I didn't read your post carefully enough.  The only thing that comes to mind atm is you perhaps have a conflicting flag someplace and the import to me3 is changing things to defaults?

You might want to try a save from masseffect2saves.com with those choices and if it loads properly, examine the differences in flags.

2nd EDIT:  Is the Played me1 flag set?  me3 import may look at the flags differently than me2 game play.

Thanks, will give the saves from masseffect2saves.com a try, can only think its something like you described.

The played me1 flag is ticked yes, I assume thats correct?

Is there any way of importing a ME2 character played/saved on the PC into ME3 on the xbox?

I only have ME1&2 on the PC but have bought ME3 for the Xbox.

The furthest ive got is converting my PC save into an xbox save...

For the people wanting to change the plot outcome from ME1 for their ME3 import, after alot of trial and error I got this working for myself. I used http://social.biowar...t_file_id=11019 and set the appropriate checks in the Mass Effect 1 plot tab and also checked the box infront of Played Mass Effect 1 on the Player plot tab.

This might also work with the version of the editor mentioned in the OP, by setting the appropriate checks on the ME1 Plot table tab and not the ME1 Imported plot table tab, but I haven't tried that myself.

THIS!  :o

This worked for me, I have done everything else in the previously recommended version of Gibbed with no luck, ME3 just wouldnt see the changes I made, when I was 100% sure I had done everything right, and could even play in ME2 with the changes active (i.e. Wreav became Wrex, the Rachni queen sent me a message and so on).

I switched instead to the version of Gibbed Boksin linked here and ticked everything that seemed relevant as before and finally ME3 is seeing all my changes and I have the perfect mix of ME1 and ME2 to import into ME3, sooooo happy!

For XBOX owners at least I think this version might be better, as there seems to be something in the other version that ME3 doesnt like.

EDIT: Only issue is I cant seem to get it to accept that I saved the council, I have 'Saved The Council' ticked and 'Chose Anderson' ... am I missing something else?

I can live with that one error if it cant be fixed though, everything else is fine.

It seems like it should be really obvious, but how insactly do i move my fresh Mass Effect 2 save to the usb drive? I am using the move option but it tells me that this item cannot be transferred between storage devices.

That should be the correct thing to do.  The usb is formatted by your xbox, right?

I was being an idiot, i now have the xbox save on my pc (just started the new game on 360 and saved the first chance i got after Shepard woke up) and also the downloaded pc save from masseffect2saves website converted to xbox file with gibbed editor. I am just a little confused now as to how to work with them both and get the save back to xbox. Anyway, sorry for my stupidity.

Can one of you try setting the plot flags in both me1 plot tabs plus the played me1?

Or try the the r1b7 version of the editor, just to make sure a bug didn't creep in the last couple of revisions?

Where is the "john" xboxfile from Pordis? Seems that I need that, following the guide from Traim.

Ok Pordis, back and with GOOD news. I gave r1b8b another shot, this time ticking flags in both ME1 Imported plot table and ME1 Plot table. Everything worked, all ME1 options have been recognised by ME3.

Before I only ticked the ME1 Imported plot table options with no success except that in ME2 the changes were all recognised, hell I could fly to Tuchunka and see Wrex sitting there but then ME3 wouldnt accept that even if I imported a save that had my Shepard standing in the same room as Wrex.

So, r1b8b is fine, but both tabs need to be ticked. I apologise if I was supposed to be doing that all along and was just being a giant noob. I think it was also essential to set the values for earthborn and soldier correctly and to add relationship progress (4 for Liara). Again, perhaps I was supposed to do that all along.

At least you can rest assured that r1b8b works fine in the right hands. I think the only reason the other (XBOX only) Gibbed appears to work better is because it only has one set of flags and so its easier to avoid flag conflicts / silly mistakes.

You can be confident when you recommend r1b8b as a solution for ME3, you're just going to need patience with people like me, haha.

Thank you for all your hard work / help, very much appreciated. Shepard out. ;)

Thank you for trying it out.  It was actually a surprise to me that both were required.  'tis good to know.

btw all, Vaporizer has uploaded a v1.0.9 version with additions.  See the file for a description of changes.

Not sure I'm clear exactly how much you have done.   This is a fresh me2 save and you want to add one from masseffect2saves?
Insert your modded save into the xbox container, rehash/resign, save to device, eject usb from your pc.

See the step-by-step with pics in the OP.

I mean i just booted the game up and saved right after Shepard woke up. I have it on usb drive and loaded up on modio. I understand i need both saves? Sorry i am a little confused about that. How do i get them both up in Modio? I also have already converted the masseffect2saves website save into xbox file with gibbed editor.

I'm trying to get my pc save files converted to .xbsav and the dropdown menu isn't working. I'll try manually setting it and see how it goes.

It converted the save though it won't open in Modio for some reason, says it isn't a valid file :x

EDIT: I used the website to convert it into .xbsav and Modio still doesn't recognize it.

It sounds like you are at step 5 in the OP.   Right mouse click on folder contents and inject your new save into the current folder.
Step 6. Rehash/resign
Step 7. eject usb from pc and try it on the xbox.

Modio works with xbox container files, not the me2 saves.

See the instructions a few pages back on pc -> xbox  and possibly this post also if you need to create the file structure for me2 saves on your usb.

Edit:  If ppl are having trouble with pc->xbox conversion in the v1.0.9 editor, give it a try in the r1b7 that I re-uploaded.  If the older one works please let us know in this forum or by pm that we have a bug.

Okey, thank you very much. Just making sure, i now have in the file contents folder -
autosave.xbsav
chaptersave.xbsav
save_0001 - which is the fresh mass effect 2 save that was made on the xbox
save_0411 - downloaded from masseffect2saves.com

I did rehash and resign. Do i now select save to device and just choose select there and that should be it?

Anyway, thanks for all you help.

That should be it.  I hope you meant, AutoSave.xbsav, ChapterSave.xbsav, and Save_0001.xbsav, Save_0411.xbsav

I think the names are case sensitive, but not sure I've tried it differently.

Yes, all with the xbsav. I loaded it up in xbox and it seems to be working. :) Thank you again.

Can I upload a ME2 save to my xbox if I don't have any ME2 saves on it? It's a brand new xbox (got it today) and I don't have any ME2 saves. I downloaded a save file from the MES site, but I can't figure out where to put the save on the USB drive.

Does anyone know if the rewrite/destroy heretics flags work in ME3? I just changed mine, but it still says I rewrote them in the journal.

The flag is updated and ME3 should recognize it correctly, the journal in ME2 isn't updated however.

Right, thats what I'm hoping. I just saw that it wasn't recognizing changed classes/reputations/origins and got worried.

That sounds like something new Vaporizer added... so no.  Sorry.
