please put a modio download link up as all the sites and links for modio ive tried so far have been either malware or not worked properly.

Are you not able to d/l it from the game-tuts website?

I tried but of the versions so far 3 and 4 beta have given me .NET Framework errors..

What errors?
Do you have a friend who can try it?
Have you tried re-installing .NET (I think .NET3.5 for v3 and Gibbed, not sure what v4 requires).

Yes, I have both on there and no plus sign.

You have saved a game from within me2 or me3?  Not just moved it there with modio, right?
(Or moved a game save to the usb from the xbox menus.)

In modio v3 it should look something like this pic in the project gallery (it may have the game names next to the numbers if you have the view option set to display them, which is the default.)

That is correct. So far Modio has been next to useless for me. I don't know if it is an error on my end or not(it probably is).

And you do see the game save on the usb when you view it on the xbox (storage->device->me3)?

Just a quick check.  In Modio can you try explore device.  In the explorer,  File->Open device.  Then you still don't see it?

Well I can see it it in ME2, but it says it is corrupted(I used your shell and moved a prepared save into it on  my desktop, injected it using Horizon). I tried to rehash/resign to no avail.

What I see in Modio: http://social.biowar.../1325393/189280

Tried uninstalling and re-installing via clean up tool, no luck. Did it
with modio 3 and 4 beta. Is there any other application I could use
besides modio, Ive heard modio has a lot of issues. And thats about the
only thing Im stuck with right now, Im trying to export my ME2 saves
from the PC to my box ive used and edited it in gibbed and apparently I
HAVE to use modio too? no?

I got it to work using Horizon and not Modio. I just had to manipulate it more than I was in Gibbed before hand and had to replace an old save from a new character.

Can you tell me what you did?
I try to use Horizon and the saves show up there but not on the section of ME3 where you choose a character to import.

A few ppl are having difficulties with Modio.  Could you please post the steps you took to do it with Horizon?  ty

Now Horizon says this:

FATX: invalid cluster index while appending to the cache

What does that mean and how do I fix it?

When I load my pc save (that i converted to xbsav) in to Mass Effect 2 (not tried it yet with Mass Effect 3) he say's it cannot be loaded. The following dlc is missing: Normandy Crash Site, Zaeed. How do I remove this from my pc save? With Gibbed? But how?

Under the raw tab, there is a dlc dependency item.  There you can remove one or more dependencies to get it to load.  N.B.  I would leave the dependencies in for the import to me3.  idk if removal impacts the choices me3 imports.

A lot of ppl also use usbxtaf.   I've not tried it, but a lot of ppl like it better than Modio.

Maybe this question has an obvious answer, but I just want to doublecheck before I get too far along on this...

My previous xbox had my ME1 and ME2 savegames on it - it was stolen. So I started up a new ME3 game presuming I was just out of luck unless I wanted to start over with ME1&2 from scratch.

Then I found this site...

Is it possible to just open my current ME3 savegame file that I've started, and edit the information in it so ME3 thinks I've loaded a previous savegame file? Or do I need to actually download one from masseffect2saves?

Any information's helpful. Thanks.

Nope as far as I know you can't export/import saves unless you physically possess a hard drive/storage device with saves from the previous two on them. There are ways to fix interplatform issues but a stolen xbox and you dont have any of those save on a storage device...highly unlikely.

So best thing to do would be take one of the files from masseffect2saves (and tweak it if necessary), and use it as a starting point for a new ME3 game?

For using Horizon:

1) Go into Mass Effect 2 on your Xbox and create a new game, choose as many options as possible that are in the save you are taking from an online source(ie: vanguard, name).
2) Make sure you save to either your flash drive directly or use system settings to move it there from the Xbox menu.

Now this bit doesn't require your flashdrive.

3) Go to the website you are taking the pcsave from and download it.
4) Now open Gibbed and edit your character's name and class, make it the same as the one you created on the Xbox.
5) Now that it is edited, save it in the Save_0010.xbsav format.
6) Now insert your flashdrive into your computer.
7) Open Horizon as an Administrator and make sure your device is selected.
8) On the right there should be a bunch of tabs that say games, profiles, videos, etc. Click the game tab, then Mass Effect 2, and then open the profile for the character you created. This is done by double clicking.
9) Now a little window should pop up with a bunch of gibberish on it, click the tab that says content or something similar. In the list should be something that saves auto save an a number of files that follow the aforementioned format of Save_0000.xbsav .
10) Now with that tab open right click in the white space there and select inject file, then select the desired save. If nothing pops up it should have worked and there may not be obvious changes, if that occurs exit Horizon and  then restart it. Reopen the profile you injected to to confirm it is there. Then rehash/resign.
11) Eject your USB from your computer then reinsert it to your Xbox.
12) You should have it added to your USB, transfer it to your Xbox HDD and start Mass Effect 3, selecting it from the available saves/profiles.

If there are any questions PM me.
