Hey guys would like a little help modding my Mass Effect 1 save. All I want to do is have Wrex alive and that is it, I dont' care about the other cosmetic stuff all that.

How would I go about changing it to say that Wrex is alive in my game so I can see him in Mass Effect 2 and 3.

I didn't notice an answer to this...so.

When you wake up in me2, save game.  Mod the me2 plot table in that to indicate wrex lived.  (I forget the exact name of the variable.)  Also, make the similar change in me1 plot table (I think this might be used by me3 import... even though the first change is enough for me2.)

Slynny97 wrote...Hello everybody !I think I am doing somthing wrong.I mean everything works, I play on changed save but then my Xbox crash and later if I don't delete those character I made, Mass Effect 2 won't turn on. Every single time it crashes when I'm turning it on until I'll delete my character. Can you help me guys? Can you tell me what is wrong? I would really grateful ;)
PS One more thing, in "ME1 Imported plot table" are 2 options which look the same, I mean " [Garrus] Recruited ".Which one should I chose? or should I chose both of them?

By crashes, do you mean you press start and it hangs or goes to a black screen?    Go to system->storage->games and find your career file.  If it is not corrupted, save it.  If it is already corrupted you won't be allowed to move it to usb so you'll have to use whatever backup you have.

Next, start up me2 and load a different career.  Then put your career back on.  Note if the file size is about 1mb, I would backup and delete a few of the game saves from it first.   I have noticed me2 and even me3 have difficulty saving when the file gets too big.  In me2 it can lead to the game not starting.  me3 seems to handle it better and you can delete a few saves yourself.  Plus it seems to be mostly the quicksave and autosave that have problems in me3.  Often the quicksave will fail, but you can still add a regular save.

Not sure if this is most appropriate area for this, but...
(* Am using a JTAG Xbox 360)
Please advise if you, yourself would be able to help or know of someone whom would be willing to assist.

Can anyone look at my me2 save and see why me3 will not recognize for importing...
I've tried to resign/rehash w modio, horizon & Lefluffie.

Either the me2 save is corrupted (but am currently still using ok while playing me2)
or
something screwed up with device id/console id not matching my profile's id's???
(can give the id's currently on my profile)

* (ME2) tried to start new game importing my ME1 career - saved resulting ME2 new game.
Then put new ME3 disc in and tried again to import ME2 game, won't recognize any me2 saves at all...

At the same time, I've downloaded a game save from a forum (me2 for import into me3) resigned/rehashed to match my profile and IT is recognized for import into me3...

HELP
I've spent 60 hrs plus playing me2 (not to mention me1) had to play through ME3 once without and really ruined everything for me almost!!!

Will pm links to all my saves/profile if you think you may be able to help...
Either reply or send me a pm PLEASE
TIA Jason

I'm trying to do this and despite having a pendrive/USB in Modio can't find a device, I've done the modding it just won't save onto my pendrive.

@coldengrey the me2 game *does* have to be finished or at least marked finished. me3 does seem to look at more info in the game save than re-import into me2 does. For one, I think it looks at both the me2 plot table *and * me1 plot table, even though some of the info is the same.

For ppl having difficulty with modio finding your usb.... does the xbox find it okay? (Is it formatted by the xbox?) You can also try the utility usbxtaf, if modio isn't working for you.

With patch 1.02 out does anyone know if the modded faces from Mass Effect 2 will work in Mass Effect 3 now?

Is it possible to just flag all the squadmates as acquired/in squad/selectable without breaking the game. Especially Legion, I would love to have him a long more than just one mission.

How exactly do you 'delete' the face code so that you can import to ME3 without the code getting screwed up?

I'm looking at it now and there's a line saying "Face Code", but it's already blank!?

I did do that once with Legion... the only thing I recall being weird is I took him on the mission to "acquire" him and the part where he is being carried to the normandy, there wasn't any body being carried.  Some of the dialog with Legion on the citadel meeting the council is quite hilarious.  All I did was look at the acquired squad mates and set his the same.  I don't believe I tried importing that into me3, so idk if there are any potential problems that way.

If it already says,  raw tab: player-> Appearance->Has headmorph = false, then you have sheploo.  If not then set it to false.

Ah, thanks...

Still didn't import to ME3 properly though unfortunately, so I guess the gibbed method ain't gonna work either. :(

Out of curiosity, is there any kind of guide for what all the other appearance options actually change?  Like 'Leg ID', 'Full Body ID' etc?

Nope, you can't change sheploo at all.  There are some ppl who have tried to recreate the sheploo face as best they can.  I think I might have a ref to one of them in the interesting posts file of my project.  I know there are others around on masseffect2faces.com and more.  It one of those is close enough for you, you could mod that.

idk about explaining all the options, but iirc one of the links in this forum OP had some good discussions about technical issues and variables... although maybe it was only about the headmorph.   femshep.com also has so good modding references, you could check there too.

Hey everyone, so my question doesn't have to do SPECIFICALLY with ME2 modding, but it's related. I use a USB flash drive to mod this game, and it's getting annoying to have to use the USB ALL THE TIME. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to connect my XBOX to my PC and view the files wirelessly? Is that even possible? Sorry guys I know it's off topic it's just that this is the best place I know to ask these questions.

Well since noboby responded, I'm assuming there is nowhere I can wear other npc outfits besides the standard wear.

@devastator afaik there isn't any way on console to get npc outfits

@miggz187 I've not tried that but I do pop up the dashboard with he xbox button and remove/mod the USB save w/o stopping the game since I play from the USB. But then I live dangerously and keep frequent backups on my pc. ;P

Any way to edit the career files, not just the save files that lie within them? I would simply like to create a new character to import to ME3.

See this post for some career file info.  But the safest/easy way is to create a new career the way you want in me2, then inject the game save you want into it.  You can save right after Miranda tells you to get up, before even getting the pistol if you want.

I've not really tested the limits on me3, but I know me2 didn't care if the career file did not match the game saves.  I tested many of my friends mods by putting several into the same career file, even though none of them matched.  It just made it difficult to browse what the saves actually were since some of the displayed info is read from the career file when selecting a save.   I would guess that most likely me3 won't care, but if it does it would prob mess up the class/origin/background of the character but nothing else.

Thanks for response! I did manage to fix everything. I did have one of the save files that had completed. My problem was the whole 'cloud import problem', which was fixed by transferring from 360 hdd to usb thumb drive; then ME3 had recognized my ME2 import :)
----
Have a new question now though: Getting an error message, in modio, when trying to reinject modded game save on ME2....
"There was an error while saving file- reason: parameter is not valid" (Modio message)
- Does that mean I modded something incorrectly?
- I am supposed to 'inject file into ROOT'? or 'inject into current folder'

Save to device should put it in the correct folder for you.  You want it in the me2->saves folder under your GT.

Here is an example of the directory structure under Modio.  N.B. depending how you have viewing set in modio it might give you names or numbers for the directories.
