Just curious, since I read on the masseffect2faces website, that said something like modding hair could be interesting on male Sheps, and I could of sworn I saw a male Shep with the fem shep mohawk on that site one time. So we can use female shep hairstyles on males right? I actually think that one long hairstyle with the bangs could look good on a male shep.

So just wondering about this, for those who have messed around with the hair tyles.

You can do it but it won't look right on male shep. The animations will be mostly broken because maleshep's head is of a different shape than femshep's.

What do you mean by broken? Like it will gltch and skip, or make your head look dumb when you move around or in cutscenes? Just wondering.

I haven't tried to mess with skin color but hair and eyes always looked great right off the bat without any trial and error.....except maybe tweaking the brightness once but that's about it. Frankly I wouldn't expect any unnatural color to work right with the skin at all.

I mean like the hair that should be on top of the head being inside the skull and having hair stick out of his skin from the sides of the forehead. I've seen a picture....really hilarious....I should have saved it. I'll try to see if I can find it again.

Is there any alternative to Modio? Can't use it since I don't have .net framework, and I can't install the thing. Help?
Also, has anyone managed to change casual outfits?

An alternative to modio?   I don't know....sorry.  But casual outfits is a yes you can.  In the editor, go to the raw tab,
 go down to no.2 Squad and select player, then appearance.   There is a list of IDs.  I changed the casual ID and the full body ID with the number 95.  I don't know if both were needed, but i started this new game with a brand new Shepard wearing the formal dress.  Unfortunately it won't add to the armor locker.  I know it would be a pain in the neck if you are playing on the 360, having to transfer a save back and forth Image IPB

it would be nice if there was a list of clothes with their ID number
If there isn't,   my contribution is FemShep formal wear......95

In Paint start messing with custom collors. At the bottom right you will see three values for R, B and G that are in the range between 0 and 255. Obviously these wouldn't work in the save editor because anything over 1 already makes colors bright. So you take Paint's values and divide them all by 255. Take pure white for an easy example. The RBG values for pure white in paint are 255, 255 and 255. Take those numberes, divide them by 255 and you've left with 1, 1 and 1. Put 1, 1 and 1 for RBG in the save editor for hair and you'll have white hair. Just find the color you like, divide all three by 255 and you should be left with three numbers that are equat to or smaller than 1 that work just nice in the save editor. Custom collors will usually give you things like .542690213 or something similar so you'll probably want to write them down after dividing.

That's awesome news.

Would you know how I could get a Shepard Skin color like this?
Image IPB

Hmm I don't know....looks like a dark shade of gray.....close to black. Try a few of those.

I would if a PC user could give the ID numbers for the other casual outfits we've seen

Haven't messed with it myself but in the color vectors you should see somthing that says: "SkinTone" on the left side along with the others like "HED_..." and "EYE_..."

Yes it's great and it also makes things more interesting. I just pretend that as a side effect of the Lazarus project my female Shepard's eyes changed to yellow or my other Shepard's eyes couldn't be rebuilt so they were replaced with eyes like TIM's eyes. This is why modding is great.

Oh yeah, I forgot to try "extreme" settings for skin color. Trying to make an asari blue FemShep... Anyone tried yet?

Should be simple enough. I just made a dark gray Shepard in my first try to see how the skin tone worked though the nuance was a bit darker than I thought it's an easy fix that shouldn't take more than a couple of tries. For your blue my blind suggestion is:

B=1
R=0.1098039
G=0.1098039

Let me know how that turns out.

Has anyone figured out how to tweak the armor colors or add colors for N7 customization yet?

Althogh that program didn't convince me. Any other ideas?

Not that I know of. They don't appear in the color vectors that we can mess with at the moment, we can't add to color vectors and even if we could we don't know the names. Gibbed is still working on the save editor and has said the next build will come with 360 support from the start...maybe the next build will open more options.

Nope. Modio and Le Fluffie are the only ones I know of and worked or tried to work with.

Didn't work for me. Maybe I did it wrong but my "Hair Mesh" field had the word "None" in it so I just replaced it with the code you posted. Then in the texture parameters there were no "HAIR_Diff=" or "Hair_Norm=" fields so I added them in with the code you game except I replaced the MDL at the end with Norm and Diff respectively and then changes the three scalp fields as well and adjusted the code to them as well. When I loaded I had my former hair style except that now it was the same color as my skin.....

Yes, under Vector Parameters in the "Emis_Color" box click the + next to Value and you can set the R, G, and B. It's a bit difficult to get the hang of though. One thing I've learned from tinkering around with iris colors is that the color you see in-game is always WAY lighter than the color you see in (for example) MS Paint or PSP. So find the color that you want and then cut the brightness in half and use those values instead. Also, full colors never look good in my experience (ie: setting B = 1.0 and all other values = 0.0 for blue irises). It'll be waaay too saturated and look lame. Color mixtures seem to work best.

Here are some nice ones to get you started.

Blue/Purple
A = 1
B = 0.501960754
G = 0.34117648
R = 0.435294122

Silver/White
A = 1
B = 0.501960754
G = 0.501960754
R = 0.501960754

I have yet to find a good, deep red color that didn't make my Shepard look like he had pink eye. <_<

Incidentally, does anyone know if it's possible to force the red Renegade eyes regardless of alignment score and without the facial scars? I was hoping for something similar to the Illusive Man eye mod. I suppose one way to test would be to mod a character full Renegade and then compare the saves, but I figured I'd ask first.

I  think those two color codes should be posted on the color code discussion in the modding group unless they haven't been added there already. Silver eyes could be interesting and so would silver hair. Well now that's making me wish that someone came up with Gold colored eyes.

Strange, but the scalp, should be none or BIOG_something_something_No_Idea_Bald. :)

Anyway, the mohawk for Femshep worked fine, but the bald part looked iffy, so I combined it with the buzzcut.

A bit more testing and I found out why TIM's eyes look red no matter what you do when you change them. That happens if you forget to rename the "EYE_Iris_Colour_Vector" to "Emis_Color". Putting a color for the eyes will NOT matter unless you properly rename that field.

Can we start posting the Codes for certain features from the Face Editor?

For a full bearded stubble, the code is

BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.Beard.HMM_HED_PROCustom_Stubble
