How to mod ME2 for the Xbox 360 - updated 5/3/2011-

Seems like modding the face is only useful if you're going for unrealistic colors, since you can guess what those will look like.
At least I can give myself more resources. Hopefully we figure out some interesting stuff to do soon. Like more colors for N7 armor.

Is anyone else having trouble with Modio right now? No matter what changes I make to my career files, My XBOX says the file's corrupted
Hmm I'm not sure. I modded and it worked right but I couldn't delete the save I just added in Modio by pressing X so I went back to Modio deleted it manually in there then rehashed and resigned the save and it refused to work...kept popping up as corrupted so I went in deleted another save and re-injected it and lastly I injected it in XTAF through right click and now it works fine again.
Here's the issue:
I take my XBOX career save, to the PC, and it says the file size is 768 kb
I extract that to a folder, and open it in Modio, and I check the file size, it still says 768 kb.
Then I extract save 0071.xbsav, I simply take two digits off of my 1,000,000 credit amount, resulting in 10,000 credits, I save over the extracted 0071.xbsav file, then I go into Modio
I right click on the old 0071.xbsav, click REPLACE, then I find the newly edited 0071.xbsav, hit ok, then I hit REHASH AND RESIGN, and then I check the size of the extracted Career file, and instead of being 768 kb, it's only 438 kb.
Where the hell did the other 300 kb go?
I don't understand why it's doing this, I've been editing this career totally without any problems at all, simply giving myself the Revenant and Widow, credits, resources, changing the Eye Color, and It's never done this before?

I got it working... no more probing and my next femshep will have some better hair....
I have a question tho about adding henchmen early in the game...
For example I want to add Tali just after freedoms progress what would I do?
check the boxes in henchmen and flags I guess? but what boxes do I need to select?
Tali acquired?
Tali in squad?
Tali reaveled?
Tali selecteble?
and so on.....

I think that something might have become corrupted when Modio puts that particular character save back together. Have you tried modding another character? I've had no moreproblems other than what I described last and something odd happened when I dragged the save to the desktop that time....it told me the save exists andv only asked if I want to replace it instead of giving me the options to "Move and Replace", "Don't Move" or "Move but Keep Both Files". That was the only unusual thing I noticed.javierabegazo wrote...
Ok, so I've even tried ADDING whole extra xbsav files, and the Kb count still takes a massive drop. I don't know what to do anymore

Screwing with selectable characters is very likely to cause problems. If you did this before Horizon then it's highly likely you'll never be able to go to Horizon. Other problems my well apear too given that this hasn't been truoughly tested.

Try this; Load your 0071 game on the Xbox, ( during game play ) when game loads go into menu and delete your saves, the only thing left to choose in the menu will be to save new game. Do this and exit game, check the memory, everything should be corrected. I hope that helps, it worked for me

ok noted, but I guess I can't ruin more stuff then that particular savegame rigth?
The reason I want to do it is because im curious about the hidden dialouge for the party members that you are forced to recruit after Horizon, so if I screw up that savegame it does not matter

As it turns out, the Career container, must've gotten broken or something, because I took my Zephrael modded save files, and transfered them into my Logan Shepard's career, and the game accepts it just fine... Strange, but I'm glad I fixed it

Yes your other saves remain unaffected as long as you don't overwrite them while playing.

Really quickly, how do you make the eye color more radiant?
You have a couple of options:
1) rise RBG above 1 but maintain their proportions as percenteges of the whole. So if for example you have a white at 1, 1, 1 and each color constitutes a third or about 33.3% of the whole then rising them all above 1 but keeping them equal should do the trick.
2) Try rising the A value above 1....not sure if this actually works or not.

Changing the A value hasn't done anything in my experience. I haven't noticed any difference between setting it to 0.5 or 3.

I'm using a usb. I did everything, but when it's time to put everything back on the usb and bring it to my xbox......I have problems. I tried bringing my saved file over, after Rehashing and resigning my numbered saved in Modio, I put it on the usb, put it on my xbox, but nothing was changed when I started playing. Then I tried only takinh the numbered save to my xbox, and it told me the file was corrupted. I'm completely lost

OK taking just your numbered save to your xbox will NOT work. It HAS be inside a character file. The most important part I see is that maybe you may have to save using Gibbed's save editor after making the mods. You need to overwrite your extracted individual save using the save editor's save button; then you need to delete the numbered save you edited in modio and then inject the modded version of that same save from the place you extracted it to.

You don't want to put the numbered save on the USB, you want to delete the old career file from the USB and reinject the new career file that you had extracted to your desktop, that you had opened with Modio, that you had extracted a numbered save, edited it, injected it with Modio, rehashed the new career file with modio, that one :JojiGirl wrote...

Did you by chance delete the ChapterSave.xbsav file from the corrupted career? Because I just did that with one of my saves and it came up as corrupted on my Xbox. I spliced a ChapterSave from another career into it and now it works again. (this would also explain why the file size of your career mysteriously shrunk)

That either seems to be beyond the scope of what can be done so far with the save editor, or no one's figured it out yet.
