Except most computers can't run .rar files. So if you can get a better zip file then fine but the one I have will still work better for most people since the .rar won't work at all.kregano wrote...
Quick question, which version of Xtaf did you put in there? The one I posted in the RAR is the latest version and is a standalone program, while it appears that Darth_Trethon put up an older version that isn't as polished and has some compatibility problems.javierabegazo wrote...

Don't qoute me on that, but I can't see Microsoft letting free stuff slip past there greedy fingers. Not to mention BioWare would miss out on potential DLC sales.

What I'm saying is that javierbegazo can unrar the latest version of Xtaf and stick it in with the rest of the files by itself because version 6 is a standalone program, unlike version 3, which is in your zip file.Darth_Trethon wrote...

I'm pretty certain any modding on the 360 will get you banned.

NOT unless you screw with acheivements, the 360's hardware or software and multiplayer games which this method does NOT. All you do with this is change values in your game save which nobody but you sees since there's no multiplayer. I am 99.99999% sure Microsoft can't even detect the changes in the values stored in your save.

Can you also make an individual download of the zipped rar file please so I can upgrade the individual download link too?javierabegazo wrote...

i'm sure microsoft knew this was coming when they added usb support. only time will tell how they respond to this.
This is NOT new. I've been doing this since before having the USb support. Microsoft won't touch single player modded saves. You get banned when you screw with your XBL profile or achievements, avatar stuff, microsoft points you didn't buy or when you mod the 360's hardware or add programs that don't belong on the 360. With my instructions you do NOT do any of those things.

You can always just download winrar and ignore its ****ing about how your 40 day trial is up. The message will come up every time you use it; but all you have to do is press cancel and then use it as you normally would.
Sure, but really, the best program (personally) for handling anything compressed, is this
7-Zip Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives
It doesn't even require an install, and it handles well....everything
Another favorite is
jZip - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
But this one will have to be installed

this may sound like a stupid question but can we get characters early now(ex. getting Tali before getting Archangel-Garrus) and if so how do you do it?
See two other screens here

But doing that can get buggy though

Question: I downloaded both the Gibbed Xbox Save Editor and the USB XTAF Xplorer archives. The link under "here" for the Save Editor took me to a Source file (is that the right one?) which dumps a whole load of directories and a .sln file on my desktop and no application that I can find and the XTAF Xplorer download extracts only a readme and USBXTAFGUI application which gives me an "Application failed to innitialize properly" error whenever I try to open it. Am I doing something wrong here? Did I not download the correct files?
What operating system are you using? The "here" link should only open 4 things that you MUST keep in the same folder(see picture in my opening post) and the XTAF should give you a folder with 2 things in it one of which is the USB XTAF and the other is a file called io.dll which you should never touch.
I'm running Windows XP Professional. The "here" link led to a "Gibbed ME2 Editor (X360) Source.zip" file which contained the following:
/bin
/Gibbed.Helpers
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.AudioExtract
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.FileFormat
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.SaveEdit
/Gibbed.MassEffect2.Test
Gibbed.MassEffect2.sln
readme.txt
The USB XTAF Xplorer .rar extracted the following:
USBXTAFGUI.exe
readme.txt
If I download the .zip version from megaupload.com it extracts a USB XTAF Xplorer.exe and io.dll file but again the executable gives me an "Application failed to initialize properly" error.
Use my link to download the USB XTAF because in all likelyhood your computer can't read .rar files. I provided a zip file in my opening post. As far as gibbed's contents are concerned ALL those HAVE to be in the same folder(just create one yourself and move them in there) or the save editor will NOT work correctly.
It's cool. I tracked down the problem. I just needed to update my .NET drivers. Now they all work fine.
