Can we change the color that our renegade scars glow???
I believe we can, but I haven't messed around with them. Navigate to Raw > Squad Player > Appearance > Head More > Vector Parameters > Collection and there should be 1 entry that is related to the scaring (something like HED_Scar_Vector_Colour or whatever).

Does anyone know how fixing the .ini file after editing it manually for PC actually works, i've been attempting to ini mod the xbox version for the last week and I think that this might be the last stumbling block.
Sorry, no, I just know the magic "fix the ini" program works. Might be as "simple" as a checksum. I am curious as to how you've been attempting ini modding on the xbox. (I can think of a few ways, but none I'd condone)

Basically I installed the game to my hard drive and am trying to change the coalesced.ini file that got put on there, since the xbox checks to see if the disc is in, but then loads the data from the hard drive any altered settings should work.
Please keep up the hard work. ini modding on xbox would be awesome

Did you reduce B to 0? You have to change all 3 colors. This has worked like a wonder for me.Shotokanguy wrote...
Hang on a second, using Paint to determine what color you want on something isn't reliable at all! 255 in red and green makes yellow, but a 1 in the R and G fields in the GSE makes a real green color, with a bit of yellow in it! For hair, at least. How does that work?
Yes...there's a 0 next to the B.
Are you saying you put 1 next to the G and R, and your character's hair comes out yellow?

Yep....perfect yellow. Just did it a minute ago for the hair....on a large HDTV. Could be something off about how your TV reads colors....I don't know. B=0 G=1 R=1

Have a go; I couldn't get textures on the jack model, and the face, looked a bit like it was covered with a clear plastic mask or something, and the neck had some of Jack's scars or whatever, but no tattoos.

Jack's entire head in a single model, sadly 1 that like the hats, has no texture, could ofc, be possible to alter the lips in morph face in the editor, but that is no guarantee and would require a lot of back and forth to see the changes in-game.

Put the Jack.MDL in place of the Hairstyle.MDL, used Shrink in Toolbox > Head Morph Fun Stuff. (FemShep's head is larger than Jack's)
Tried Jack's textures under both hair and face diffs, norms etc. (No luck just a texture-less Jack head)
Then I tried to apply all of Jack's texture to Shep without the Head.MDL, then the textures showed up on Shep's face, but there might be some interaction with the underlying skin color, or something, it looked very plastic like.
Needs some more testing, but frustration got to me and I've taken a break from this particular experiment for the moment.
I will however put some more effort into locating the flash drive for my camera.
EDIT: Jack's eyebrows are part of the face texture, so try this on a Shep with no eyebrows.

So you actually had Jack's face? I'm going to try and play around with this aswell, thank you very much.

By the way it sounds and what you're doing, maybe you could access the .ini files by first installing the game into the XBOX directly into the hard drive, then somehow transfer all those files to some memory card which can be put into a PC for editing. Hmmmmm, sounds VERY reasonable.
I'm supporting Gets Shot, hope you make a breakthrough!!

From what I've heard, some guy extracted the coalesced.ini, but he said the the .ini would not inject back into the game without being the exact same size as it was originally.
I his words;
"I got coalesced.ini out of the files but trick is it will only re-inject at same size, so same amount of characters, that bites!"

The problem now is fixing the ini.
Does anyone have any experience with the ruby programing language i have a ruby script that supposedly fixes the c.ini for PC but I can't tell what it is actually changing so I have no idea how to change the same thing in the xbox ini
filename = ARGV[0] || 'Coalesced.ini'
File.open(filename, "r:ascii-8bit") do |f|
exit if f.read(4) != "\\x1e\\x00\\x00\\x00"
data = Array.new
i = 0
until f.eof do
data[i] = Hash.new
data[i][:offset] = f.pos
data[i][:name_len], data[i][:name], data[i][:data_len],
data[i][:data] = f.read.unpack('VZ*VZ*')
f.seek((data[i][:offset] + data[i][:data].length + data[i][:name].length + 10))
i += 1
end
data.each do |section|
if section[:name_len] != (section[:name].length+1)
section[:name_len] = (section[:name].length+1)
$is_fixed ||= true
puts "Fixing section name at 0x#{section[:offset].to_s(16)} ..."
end
if section[:data_len] != (section[:data].length+1)
section[:data_len] = (section[:data].length+1)
$is_fixed ||= true
puts "Fixing section data at 0x" + (section[:offset] + 4 + section[:name_len]).to_s(16) + " ..."
end
end
if $is_fixed
puts "\\nWriting fixed file to fix_#{filename}"
output = "\\x1e\\x00\\x00\\x00"
output << data.map {|section| [section[:name_len], section[:name], section[:data_len], section[:data]].pack('VZ*VZ*')}.join
File.open("fix_#{filename}", 'wb') {|f| f.write(output) }
end
end

Is it possible to Hex Edit the XBOX save files?
Only at the start of the game and it's very limited. You can only do ammo for regular weapons, minerals, credits, squad points for shepard and team and paragon/renegade points. Once you advance far enough in the game it all turns to giberish and the values that need to be changed are no longer distinguisheable making it impossible to hex edit.
