I have to say, the game has become slightly too easy for me on insanity after equipping Grunt with a Revenant. I haven't even acquired 2/5 AR upgrades yet and he is just tearing through enemies like butter. Horizon (along with Kasumi's FB) was so easy I had to reload and double check I was actually playing on insanity.

Well how you balance the difficulty and your allies' weapons is up to you, modding just gives you more options. Personally I don't bother modding allies' weapons as I like to kill everything myself.

Anyone here find out how to replace Shepard's head with another character?  Someone here I think did but when I tried to do it, it didn't work.  social.bioware.com/group/1932/discussion/6852/308658/#post_308658

First I put [ BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.JAck.HMM_HED_PROJack_MDL ] in the hair mesh thing
but that just made my shepard bald. Then I tried replace the textures
but then my she had this very strange android looking face....I am very
confused.

"Strange android face" is as far as anyone's gotten.  Jack's head is just that--ONLY the shape.  Not the face, hair, eyes.  And not even skin...   Same for Miranda, though due to how Miranda's model is, you get her hair, too.  (untextured, shiny white plastic hair, but hair)   (changing the head via the hair does give you eyes, but they're Shep's eyes, not the right eyes)

I've tried a lot of variations to get Samara or Aria's head, but it doesn't work at all.  Same for textures---I think I replaced every single texture with Samara's, but nothing changes--which is really weird, because if they were wrong/nonexistant textures, then Shep should have no face/hair texture at all I think---but it seems to still load the correct Shep textures, despite what's in the save file.

I'm most surprised that "head for hair" faces animate correctly, because that means that technically the hair is being animated...

Oh, well let me clarify then.  No one has figuered out how to do this on the 360 yet.

Maybe in the next update from Gibbed we will be able to find out how to do this.  -crosses fingers-

I'm starting to feel the same way.  I was playing Grunt's loyalty mission with Grunt and Zaeed both packing Revenants (both benefiting from squad incendiary ammo) and until the Thresher Maw showed up I rarely needed to fire a shot.

Alright, since my last post I've run into a big problem with ME2 and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. The game starts up and goes to the "Press Start" screen; but after I press start the screen goes black the audio cuts out and the 360 freezes. Out of curiosity I tried playing under a different 360 profile and I was able to start the game, start a new career, save, exit and restart the game and successfully load the save I made.  Furthermore I started up another game with my normal profile and I was able to load the save and play normally.

This is really weird cause I've been playing for the past week with a game based on a modded save with no issues and I was even doing so last night so it doesn't seem like a corrupted save issue and even if it were wouldn't the game just tell me I had a corrupt save when I tried to start up, not freeze the game before I can even get to the main menu?

I have no idea what the hell is going on, so I'm emailing back and forth with EA support right now hoping to get an
answer; but I figured I'd check with you guys to see if anyone here had heard of anything like this, cause I'm stumped.

That happened to me exactly as you describe and in my case I think it was a currupted save/carrer.  I went into the dashboard and removed the entire save and everything worked fine again.  Of course I lost the carrer but I have a ton of different saves so it was no big deal for me.  I'm not sure if that is what is happening to you or not.  My save was working fine up until the black-out too.  I suspect the problem was that I had modded tons of stuff relating to plot flow - then unmodded - then remodded etc etc etc. I didn't get a corrupted save message either but since removing the carrer fixed the problem that is what I think it was in my case.

Edit:  If you have other carrers on the go you might try moving the modded save onto a usb from the dashboard like you would if you were going to mod it again and then try to start the game up and see if it works when the save has been removed.

implodinggoat wrote...

Thanks man, I was considering deleting the career and trying it again.  So I backed up the career I suspected to be the problem on my PC, deleted the career from the 360 and tried the game again and it started up properly.  I find it odd that it would have gotten so corrupted though since I had only modded that career twice.

For reference, the mods I had done weren't very radical and included....

Giving myself lots of credits, minerals, heavy weapon ammo, paragon and renegade points, changing my loadout to equip the Widow on my soldier with Revenant training and to equip the Tempest in place of my pistol, giving Garrus a Widow in his loadout, and giving Zaeed and Grunt a Revenant in their loadouts.

I'm going to try extracting the individual saves from the career using Modio and deleting the most recent save then loading the career back onto the 360 to see if it was just that one save that was the issue or if it was the whole career.

Still it seems odd that having the game be unable to load a single corrupted save or even a corrupted career would cause the game to crash so profoundly.  They really need to patch this so that the game can still get to the main menu regardless of whether the last save was corrupt or not, since being unable to do so prevents you from loading any other career, starting a new one, loading or deleting saves, or playing the game in any way untill you delete the career.  Not to mention being able to access the main menu might allow you to salvage the career simply by deleting the most recent save and loading an older one.

UPDATE:  By extracting the individual saves from the career with Modio, deleting the most recent one, rehashing with Modio and then reloading the altered career back into my hard drive I was able to salvage the career and reopen the save prior to the one I deleted.

So it seems like you can still salvage your career if you delete the most recent save, although I haven't had time to play forward in the formerly corrupted career to see if the problem will surface again.  I'll do that in a little while and update you guys as to whether deleting the save will really fix the problem or if the career is doomed regardless.

Since I'm not the only one who ran into this problem, I would reccommend that some instructions for how to fix this problem be added to the OP since it basically makes ME2 unplayable until you fix it.

So did anyone figure out a way to exchange powers with classes? Like adding cloak to soldier, or incendiary ammo to Tali for example. Or is it only limited to adding loyalty powers to shepard?

FINAL UPDATE:

After playing forward in the corrupted career the game seems to have become corrupted again. I was able to load a previous save and play for a while; but after a while when I died during a mission the game froze when it attempted to reload the last autosave. Then when I reopened the game I found that I was able to access the main menu; but when I went to the "load game" screen the game froze when it attempted to access the corrupted career.

This would seem to suggest both that the corrupted career ultimately cannot be salvaged and that merely being able to access the main menu will not resolve the problem since the game can still freeze when the player attempts to access the "load game" menu.

This being the case, the only viable solution at present seems to be  to open the memory tab under settings on their 360 look into the files saved on the hard drive and delete the ME2 careeryou were using last (or delete the career using Xport 360 or XTAF).

Out of curiosity how many of you have encountered this problem and how often would you say it seems to occur?  This is my first modded career and it has apparently gone to hell so I've got a 100% fail rate at present.

People have been adding heavy weapon ammo, paragon points, and resources without trouble; but I'm suspicious that altering my squad's loadout might be the problem, or possibly equipping the Tempest SMG in place of my soldier's pistol.  Alternatively I might have just gone overboard when I was giving myself a boost to my Paragon and Renegade points (1000 points in each at the start of the game) and when I went far above the maximum amount the game thought I should have access to the career became corrupted.   If that's the case then the issue could be resolved by reducing the Paragon and Renegade points with the Gibbed save editor then loading the altered save.

Hopefully we'll be able to figure out exactly what kind of modding is causing this problem.

After thinking about it I'm inclined to think that the excess Paragon and Renegade points might be the problem, since it would explain why the game wouldn't become corrupted until quite far in and it would also make sense for me since the problem arose right after I had acquired a lot of Paragon points on Mordin's loyalty mission. In the future it might be wise to limit the boost you give to your Paragon and Renegade points to something more limited like 300 points in each as opposed to a thousand.

@implodinggoat I had this problem but it went a slight bit differently. After I modded once I went to the console loaded the modded save and everything appeared fine but I was just testing a hair mesh I think so I didn't get the desired result and went to delete the save using the X button only to notice the game wasn't deleting it.....kept pressing X and nothing. So i took the USB to my PC deleted it manually in Modio, went back to the console and the career save was corrupted. I tried going back and for a few times trying different things and it still remained corrupted. Ultimately I went back to the PC, deleted another numbered save out of it and reinjected it, rehashed and resigned and then it worked fine. I never had problems with that career again and I even modded some more things with it later on.

But yes I have seen other complaints in this thread that mentioned that forcing on companions weapons they're not supposed to have corrupts the save if they don't have access to the weapon class of the weapon you forced on them.

I didn't equip them with any weapons of a class they didn't have access to, just one's they weren't normally intended to have IE the Revenant on Zaeed and Grunt and the Widow on Garrus.

It seems like the whole career isn't corrupted, since I could load an older save; but it also seems like the career was headed towards being corrupted somehow, since the problem reoccured.   I still have the save for the career on my laptop, so I might go back and experiment with it a little to see if I can change something to keep the career from becoming corrupt and thus determine what's causing the problem.   The first thing I'm going to try is to take away some of my paragon and renegade points.

I highly doubt paragon/renegade points make a difference.....1900 maxes a bar and I've really abused that in the 4000+ range....they shouldn't have anything to do with your save being corrupted.

That was my working theory simply because everything else I boosted (credits, minerals and power cells) have been depleting while the Paragon and Renegade points have been going up.

If that's not it, I'd say the leading suspects would be the Tempest SMG I have equipped in place of my soldier's pistol or possibly the Revenant machine guns I gave Zaeed and Grunt and the Widow I gave to Garrus.   It just seems odd though since I've had the Tempest equipped for about 30 hours of gameplay and I've had the Revenants and the Widow equipped on my squad for at least  10 or 15 hours.

My save kept getting corrupted once, not my saves, only saves that corrupted it was the autosave, turned off autosaving and problem solved, for me at least.

Hello,

I tried to unequip the heavy weapon, until now I replaced it with an assault rifle and I successfully changed my weapons, but when I tried to do the same thing and erase the line for the heavy weapons in loadout and weapons but it didn't work.
So, I don't know how to just unequip the heavy weapons without adding another weapon.

I've only had it happen once and I have about 5 modded careers on the go. In my case I did a lot of stuff "to see what would happen" and I assume that I just went too far. I opened the galaxy map, went shopping on Illium, then closed it again with the upgrades, changed characters to loyal - then changed them back again, changed outfits on characters - which effected the galaxy map switched back etc etc. So I consider my corrupt save my own fault.

On my other games I tend to mod Fem-shep's hair mesh and color, resources, credits, ammo, extra bonus powers, paragon/renegade points and removal of the heavy weapon. I have no problems other than the one corrupt save.
