I never tried difficulty 6 myself but if what I've read from others is correct then enemies are completely invulnerable to powers and damage.

that would have been a good "disclaimer" un Gibbed editor, before I got owned nearly 10 times trying to hold the line in garrus recruitment lol.

BTW...anyway to change the appeareance of teammates?

By that I mean, can I change their skeletons to wear armor. Not necessarily for boost or anything. But can I have them wear NPC's outfits....I still dont see why miranda would wear leather to a gunfight.....or jack go semi naked to a fight.

I am looking for this mostly... I am still looking but I dont see much anymore so.

Zaeed: BLue suns outfit
Jacob: Alliance marine outfit or cerbrerus assault armor
miranda: cerberus assault armor or black eclipse armor
Jack:....anything but what she is wearing lol
Thane: Black eclipse
Samara: Alliance marine armor.

I haven't seen anything in the save editor dealing with party members textures and appearance beyond the checks regarding alternate outfits and I doubt that would even be possible to mod in a save because the save was never made to hold or reference details regarding textures and appearances of party members beyond a check regarding one of two possible costumes.

I don't see that happening without the .ini files and we can't screw with those on the 360 yet.

Can someone explain to me how to mod the hair and casual clothes (if that's possible at all)?
For the hair I pretty much followed this step by step but it always corrupts my save file...

Uhm... Please?:crying:

Those instructions work (except for Ashley's hair) so if you are following them exactly then the problem is something else.  You can't do anything with casual clothes in the save editor yet - we're all hoping that will change but it doesn't look good so far.

When a mod gets f***ed up I think the best thing to do is go back to the original save (or any pre mod save) and try again doing one thing at a time.  Have you successfully done any mods yet?  In what way is it corrupted - are you getting the black screen when you try to load the game right at the beginning?

I only changed hair and eye color and some resources, the only things I've been able to change.
I get a message saying that a save file may be corrupted and may choose to delete it. Something like that.
Click here if you want to check my save. (Save_0016.xbsav is the corrupted save)
Going back to an unmodded save won't work as I don't have it anymore. Besides, the first thing I tried was to change the hairstyle.

I can't even open your save 16 in my gibbed editor - I get a "bad checksum position" error.  Sorry, but I have no idea how to even begin to fix a save when the editor won't even open it - and you only have the one to work with.  Maybe Darth will see this and be able to help you but I fear that save might be permanently ruined.

This one should work.
I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me why I can't change the hair mesh...

That save opened fine for me. What happens when you follow the instructions? Does the hair remain "classy" or do you get some kind of messed up texture? What hairmesh are you trying to change it to?

This one: BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Mom.HMF_HIR_Mom_MDL

I did try the others too, though. None work.

When I try to open the save on my xbox I can't. Says that it's corrupted.

So 54 pages is a lot to sift through and I just have a quick question so sorry if it has been asked before. If I start a NG+ with a modded save, say for example a Fem Shep with one of the non-standard hairstyles, will this carry over into the NG+?

Hello everyone, and thank you very much for the great guide. I just have a couple queries.

When I first used this guide a few weeks ago I had no problems. I then took a small break from Mass Effect 2 to finish off a couple games I had rented and needed to return. I tried to open up USB XTAF today and it told my that "New Gui" uses some license and that my trial had expired and I would need to purchase a new one. I redownloaded XTAF from the link in the OP and it seems to work now, but I'm wondering if this will happen again and if there's a way to prevent it.

Second, I was just wondering if someone could elaborate on increasing heavy weapon ammo, specifically for the Cain. I read through the thread but I never saw explicit instructions on which field to enter a negative value in, or how large that value should be. I apologize if it was mentioned somewhere and I missed it.

Thank you again!

If you simply download the newest version of MODIO, you won't even need to bother using XTAF, because the new update on MODIO allows you to extract Career files out of your XBOX formatted USB

You can always just simply add a ridiculously large Heavy Weapon Amoo number to make it so that you have infinite.
You'll need to enter a number in the AMMO USED COUNT, and it could be anything like
-99999999

It's easiest to just equip the CAIN, and then when you edit the file, it would be in terms of Cain Ammo, so 100 would equal 1 shot, so you could do 100,000 to give your self quite a bit. THen when you change Heavy Weapons at the gun locker, it would just auto translate the amount of Ammo depending upon what Heavy Weapon you chose

1st... I uno never happened to me, I just got into modding no more than a week ago.

2nd. GO to:

Raw Tab>Squad>Player>Loadout

In Unknown #6 put this code:

SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXHeavyWeapon_NukeLauncher

Raw tab>Squad>Player> Weapons collection.

On that small window select the heavy weapon and there are two ammo slots.

----NOTE----Ammo Total: this is only used for normal weaponry SMG ar etc. put 9999, or w/e number there.

Next is

Ammo Used COunt: Here is for heavy weapons, input : -500 For 5 cain rounds, since every round uses 100%, means you got 500%, -900, means you got 900%.

heavy weapons as explained in the first page, need to have a negative sign before the number (-)600, means the cain or w/e heavy weapon, have 600 rounds, or 600%

Now To change the weapon in Gibbed editor while your at it, Instead of going back to xbox changing then going back.

In the WEapons Collection menu you are still looking at.

Look for class name, and input:

SFXHeavyWeapon_NukeLauncher

I'll go download the new version of Modio right now then. I assume the steps are similar to using XTAF as far as extracting/injecting my profile?

And another question I forgot to ask; which value for the scars vector are you supposed to change to increase the scarring, and how large is the number for the final tier of scarring? I didn't want to fiddle with it before asking in case I borked something and my Shepard turned into a futuristic Two-face.

EDIT: And, will modifying my alignment scores (maxing both Paragon and Renegade, for instance) change the scarring value back after I've changed it?

Thank you all again for all the help. It is greatly appreciated.

I just put all the squadmates in the game before Horizon (before I did any mission for that matter). I went to the Citadel and poof! When I got back the crew had been abducted. I didn't even get the scene or the sequence. They were just gone.

Yes, screwing with squad mate recruitment does that......why do you think I chose to leave it out of the opening post? There are some partially functional ways to work around this but generally speaking you're likely to wreck the continuity of the game by doing that 99.9% of the time in some way or another.

I guess I'll start over.  Will I be able to pick up Samara pre-horizon or will it happen again?

Yeah, I tried different ways to do it, but apparentlyIt has something to do with, Legion Samara and Thane being avilable for squad selection.

But individual ones, I have not had a problem, but the game may crash if you do more than 4-5 side qests, or 2 mayor ones.

So I usually do 2 major ones, mod em out, and switch to another ones.

Is funny to go with Samara and Legion into rescuing Jack :P.

But if you just load an earlier save is fine, the only modded save was the one you did, the ones behind it are still with with the code before you placed all of em in.

Now, yes you also can just mod em out and it will switch back, but I experienced a bit too many crashed coz of it. SO I just the save I had before recruiting jack, and I been good since.

If you add Samara to your party then Horizon will be skipped and you'll never get to actually go there.

well you can do it on a numbered, see the reactions and then delete it and load the unwrecked backup one and replay the game normally.

How do I add weapons to a class?

I'm playing as an infiltrator on a first playthrough and want to unlock the Widow and AR training before Horizon.

If you just check the later squad mates as selectable and nothing else continuity isn't effected.  See below.

Just to expand on the plot issues and getting characters early:

I've played around with this a lot and have learned a few things as to how the game is working relating to plot progression. As long as the game doesn't think you have "recruited" out of order there will be no plot continuity problems. So simply making anyone "selectable" in the flags with no other boxes checked doesn't result in the game thinking you have "recruited" out of order. But, if you "reveal" a character early and recruit that character to use then the game thinks you are out of order and continuity is affected. That's why the Jacob Miranda alt appearance flags won't effect continuity when checked and then unchecked (so you can buy upgrades from Illium at the beginning) as long as you didn't recruit anyone while the galaxy map was fully open.

Also if you recruit a character and then you try to return that character to prerecruited status by unchecking boxes the game will still think you have recruited that character even though it will let you begin their recruitments again. In Jack's case I landed on Purgatory and walked up to the Blue Suns guy to start the cut scene but he wouldn't talk to me.  I have a theory that this is tied to upgrades and I want to try recruiting a character but leaving the upgrades and then unckecking the boxes to see if I can re-recruit .  This might be useful for people who missed upgrades if it works.

So the bottom line is you can have anyone early without effecting continuity by checking the selectable box but you can't do the actual recruitment missions until after Horizon (which will trigger on its own).  You will  also need to deselct the "selectable" boxes in order to get their recruitment missions to appear on the Map. All later characters have dialogue for all the early missions including horizon too.

Edit: I haven't tried anything with getting Legion early  yet so he may or may not be different.
