I'm having an issue with modding and freezing. I've noticed that whenever my save file reaches a size of 1 MB the game freezes and I won't be able to start it up again until I remove the save file from my hard drive. Rehashing and Resigning doesn't seem to solve this issue. Does anyone know of a possible fix? I know the obvious solution would be to not make that many saves but if I can solve this issue I'd like to.

EDIT: My problem is exactly the same as the problem ImplodingGoat and a few others have had earlier in this thread. I've gotten this freeze/corrupted issue on two different modded careers. The thing is I've only modded credits and elements so I don't think the actual modding is causing this problem. Most of the people that have reported this problem all mentioned that they completed a good portion of the game, so it's more than possible for them to have 1 MB worth of save files in their careers. So has anyone who's modded been able to make it to 1 MB without this freezing issue?

Deleting the Corrupted Career...

METHOD A: Done through the 360. Get into the memory settings on your 360 (its under the systems menu) and manually delete the career save, they should have dates and names to distinguish them and the one you want will be the last one you played (ie the most recently saved) which is the file the game is getting hung up on since the game tries to access it so it will be ready at the main menu under "resume". This will entail losing the entire career, not just your most recent save.   But the next time you try to play ME2 the game will go to the main menu and you will be able to start a new career or access all your other careers aside from the corrupted one you had to delete.

METHOD B:  Using Xport 360 software.. Plug the 360 harddrive into your PC open it using Xport 360 and delete the most recent saved career.  Plug the hard drive back into your 360 and fire up ME2.  The Main Menu should load.

Attempt to Salvage the Career

METHOD C: Done through the PC.  Put the career file you last accessed on the 360 on your PC and open the career using modio and manually delete the most recent save in the career. Rehash the file and Resign. Delete the career you most recently used from the 360 and Inject the modded career back into the 360 hard drive.  Start up ME2 and see if you can get to the main menu screen. If you can, click load save and pick the most recent save in the career that you were last playing. It it loads then you got rid of the corrupt save and the career should be playable. Be advised though the time I did this the career I reverted to an older save on also became corrupted after I played further on and saved a few times, so it may be necessary to mod the save file back to a less modified state by taking out things you may have added to your weapon inventory or the like.

Hope that helps.

PS: I still had the career that became corrupted saved on my hard drive for reference and I noticed it was 972 KB which is much closer to 1MB than most of my other saves. Its possible that if you cross 1MB the game can no longer recognize the save which would make since because after I saved a few more times on that career that had been corrupted, that might have pushed the file size over the 1MB threshold. If that's so you might need to revert to a save file that is considerably smaller start playing again then hope for the best.

No and no.  You can equip armor pieces early that will be available to you later in the game - that's it.

That's for future versions/updates for the editor, most of what will be changed is done in the "Raw" tab aside from setting flags from ME1 and a few other things.

I downloaded Modio from the link in this thread aswell and i didn't get any viruses.  You sure it didn't come from something else you downloaded?

Pretty sure it was in the Modio Launcher.exe.

When I use a medi gel to heal a teammate it resets it's self for example I had 3 medi gel before I edited the save then I used one of them to heal Thane and it went from 25 to 3 is that normal?

Another thing to note. Ever since I've modded my save, I've noticed that my game gets laggy some times. Like really laggy. It wasn't doing that before, so I decided to delete the modded save. Seems to happens till, but not as often. I advise you guys to take caution when editing your saves. Determine whether its really worth it to you or not. I'm just getting this game for the PC to do my modding stuff. I'm not going to touch my 360 anymore. Just be cautious.

the lag, happended to me because I kept most if not all my modified 360 save files within my hardrive, together with the unmodified versions, although the original versions of the mods were elsewhere.

That cause lots of lag sometimes, specially during eclipse missions... biotics really laged down the game.

Just took out my save files and placed them all in my pc and backup memory elsewhere, and only used one at the time with my USB drive. No mod files were ever in the same storage as the originals.

On top of which whenever I I played a different mod, I saved the previous mod to my pc/extra memory, and replaced it with another mod, never having more than 1 mod in my USB; also when I played originals, I took the USB out of the slot.

Only had lag Once since I did that cleanup a bit over a month ago.

Maybe someone can help me because I'm having a few problems.

1: I'm playing a Vanguard, and I can't add weapons or override weapons with a different class weapon. I tried to add the Revenant and Widow with no success. I also added the Claymore, and that DID override my shotgun. Is it possible to force the Widow and Revenant over the Pistol and SMG?

2: I already have a bonus ability since this is not my first playthrough. I tried to add ZaeedUnique as power #10 (there are 9 already on my power list) and it replaced my bonus power. According to the first post you can have 2?

3: Can I override powers like Cyro ammo and Incendiary ammo with the bonus powers?

1. Yes you can put the Widow and the Rev over those weapons.  You have to mod both the "loadout" section and the "weapon" section as per the instructions.  If it isn't working you've most likely made a mistake somewhere.

2. You can have as many bonus powers as you want - you just have to make sure that you have room on the power wheel for them

3.  You don't really overide them you just make sure you have no talent points in the powrs you don't want to use so they don't show up on the power wheel.

Hey thanks for the info.

I don't understand how the loadout section works. In the weapons menu, I removed everytihng except for the Claymore, the Widow, the Revenant, and the SMG.

Am I limited to having only three weapons? In the loadout section, do I need to override anywhere the pistol is mentioned with the Revenant?

EDIT: Is there a list of all the powers in case I want to add a power to my character that isn't a special squadmate power?

Page 1 has instructions for most of the modding that can be done and all the available powers and codes are listed there. The only powers that can be added are the squad bonus powers so if that's what you mean by "special squadmate powers" than other codes won't work - not even the PC people can get around that one.

The loadout menu consists of 6 slots - one for each family of weapon and the last for the heavy weapon. All weapons are listed there whether you have access to them or not. You need to paste the codes for the Rev and the Widow over 2 weapons (or 1 normal and then the heavy weapon) that you have access to. Then you need to go down the list further to where is says weapons and open that up and use the remove tab to get rid of the weapons you pasted over and then the add tab to add the ones you added. This is also where you would mod your ammo if you wanted to do that. There are instructions on page one for this so if you're having trouble maybe read them over - also note that the codes that you will add in the weapons box are shorter and not identical to the codes you will use in the loadout section.

Has anyone successfully managed to change a character's career name? Where not only the character's name in game is updated, but the character's overall career name is updated to match. I tried importing the desired saves from one career into a new one with the new name, but they came out corrupted (at least on the first try so far).  Giving it another shot but wanted to see if anyone's been here, done this?

Hmm. I'm having a lot of problems changing the ME1 story flags to a new game. I'd like to have certain game files where I totally obliterated Feros and killed Shiala. I'd also like 1 male file to have romanced Liara.

However, whenever I think I am doing the process right, the file simply corrupts itself, or doesn't apply the changes. Can somebody help me go through the process of changing story flags?

Currently, I have 1 importable ME1 file and 1 importable ME2 file. What do I need to do to change the story flags for a new runthrough?

Modio was made by leaching ****s that stole everything they put into it right down to the source code. But Gametuts wouldn't put a trojan in their main product I know that much.

So what if it has a trojan. Do what I do, every 90 days. Format your hardrive. Keeps PC's clean, efficient. ANd it just takes 1 day while you enjoy a nice chainsaw to someone's face, or a nice sticky grenade exploding in blue plasma :P.

Its been a while since I checked up on things, mostly because I got hit with a nvlddmkm.sys error back in May and now I'm stuck at 800x600 resolution (down from 1440x900; BIG difference), I've got dotted lines on my BIOS, POST, and Window start up screens, and my 9800GT can't use any Nvidia drivers AT ALL, otherwise I get a neverending cycle of BSODs right before the Vista log in screen appears! Posted Image

Anyway, did anybody find a way to go FFA on the squad recruitment/loyalty quests without screwing up the overall plot flags?

Any help with this (or my OTHER problemPosted Image) would be hot...

Doing any of the recruitment missions can screw things up, but if you are just looking for having the members in your party, just check the box that says "is selectable" and nothing else, then you can use anyone you want even Legion.
