Guys, although I understand the concepts, I have't used a hex editor before, any suggestions on a good one to use if I want to try this? I couldn't tell from the screen shot what was being used.Darth_Trethon wrote...

I did this kind of quickly, but I think it's right. Here is a screen shot with instructions. Let me know if it works for you guys.
OMG it WORKED!!!! I got all 3 special weapons in the locker on the Normandy and all the upgrades at level 10.....thank you so much.

Good to know that it works.

Sorry to go back a little bit, but with regard to the additional bonus powers, as my class power is always mapped, can I allocate this to slot 8 - i.e. off the power wheel - and use the empty slot for my second bonus power?

I just tried this and it works! My vanguard had the following when I tested
Incendiary Ammo
Cryo Ammo
Charge
Shockwave
Pull
Reave
Dominate
Stasis
Energy drain
Flashbang
Unity
3 not showned on the wheel, but mapped to buttons. All powers worked. Talk about overkill...LOL. Don't know if I wanna keep it like that.
Thanks for the idea though.

I'm not sure I'll go for that many powers myself though, I'd just forget to use them all! Is there anything this character can't do?
I assume you've got access to the widow, rev and claymore with the 10/10 upgrades making you a one man army.

I asked this earlier myself, it's hex workshop.kregano wrote...
Hey, Nu Titan, what Hex editor are you using? I'm using HxD and there is no "columns = 2A" option on this thing.

That's what I'm using too, you can manually set the columns to 43 which takes you from 00 to 2A but I've been unable to line it up like the screen shot.

At the beginning of the game I used gibbed's to give my Shep credits, paragon & renegade points and placed miranda in alt outfit to access Illium. I then bought all upgrades from the Citadel and Omega and bought the Biotic upgrade and Assault Rifle damage from Illium. This placed all my upgrades at 1 except for sniper rifles which was at 2. I then found my paragon and renegade values in the hex editor and simply scrolled down until I noticed values of 1s fitting the patterns Titan described. And that's it really. Once you find the last three upgrades you need to count 12 pairs of zeroes and then change the following three 8-digit values from 00 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 02. to get the three main weapons in your weapon locker. Oh and lastly I took Miranda's alt outfit checkmark which brought the gallaxy map back to normal(no more Illium) and went on with the game as if nothing out of the ordinary happened.

You only need to make the columns 2A so you can count 6 rows down from the Paragon Point value to get to the first upgrade value (Medigel Capicity). From there, most of the other upgades are next to it.
Sorry if I confused some with the saying to match my screenshot (I just meant the number of columns). Everyone's save will look different, but once you find the Paragon values, all the other values for the upgrades should be the same number of bytes away from it.
Also, the only reason I my the columns go to 2A is just so all the values would fit in one screenshot.

A quick question about the upgrades. Do these show up as "applied" in the upgrades terminal already or do they need to be "researched"? In other words, do I need Mordin on the ship to apply the upgrades I've given myself?
The upgrades will be applied without Mordin. You can tell that your weapons and powers are doing a lot more damage. Also, if you change the number of health and shield upgrades, you'll see the difference in the squad points menu.
You do need Mordin to be able to research the other upgrades (i.e. Accuracy, AP, Cooldowns, etc). All these are unlocked if you edit the number of upgrades, but still need to be researched.
You could probably find the values of those other upgrades in the hex editor, but I thought it would be easier just to buy them. Just make Mordin selectable, buy them, then make him unselectable if you want them before getting Mordin.

Thanks, Oh I'm familiar the with "make Mordin selectable" scheme because I used to start all my games by opening up the galaxy map and buying everything and then using the lab and then deselecting him - that's why I'm thrilled that you've posted this stuff .
One more numbers question if I may. If I set my damage protection to 10 in the hex (0A) what kind of shield numbers are we talking here? I have no idea what to expect. 1000, 2000? more less?
Thanks again for this info - great stuff.

Each upgrade should be +10% of base. So damage protection of 10 is +100% of base shield value (depends on your level). I think at level 30 your shield are at 300, so setting damage protection at 10 would make your shields equal to 600.
Edit: I think Shield/Barrier base value depends on level and class of your character. I could be wrong though.

You cab do it in Gibbed by pasting any other weapon that you're carrying over it in the loadout section (so you'll have 2 entries for the same weapon) and then removing it from the weapons section. The weapon you pasted over it will only show up once and the heavy weapon will be gone. Horizon will always force the particle beam onto you after the mission so you always have to remove again there.
I'm not sure if there is an advantage to hexing it off though - I can't think of any but maybe there are.

I always do it right away on Freedom's Progress and then again after horizon - it just takes a second - but I really hate the look of the heavy weapon on the back of my femshep - especially an adept or a sentinel.
