I would say that in-universe this doesn't really apply, considering that while we as a fanbase don't know what Turians look like something like Turian biology would undoubtedly take all of 5 seconds to find on a simple extranet search so it's hardly a mystery for Shepard.


In comparison, finding a picture of a specific person's face is not so easy.
