I was just curious if anyone was able to make a character that looks like them. I'm going to try it with the toolset.

I tried with the in game CC on PS3 (I don't have the tool set). Shown by my profile pic. It doesn't look exactly like me but its pretty close.

I've found another thread or two on the topic, but they're useless as there's no comparison to be made between the Avatars and the actual players faces.

Anyone can make an avatar that looks pleasing to the eye i think, just have a look at the the posts in the various threads that are going already. To be able to copy a celebrity or yourself with the options we have; that's where the real skill lies.

I think I'll have a go at it, just using the in-game creator and see how it turns out.

As you can see, the limitations of the in-game character creation tool is fairly limited. I had many problems when playing around with the Avatar above. Not least were the very few options for eye shape, and the effect brow height/width had on eyebrows. Ideally i would've reduced the Avatar's brow further, but that just distorted the eyebrows even more so. Lips were another area that have very limited options, as well as general face texture and complexion. And of course - back on eyes - there's absolutely nothing you can do about how far the eyes are set back in the avatar's head. In this case i was relatively lucky, my eyes are deep set too.  And of course, getting the colour right was a non-event, hence why they're in black and white.
So compromises had to be made. One compromise in one area is ok i guess, but then you're making similar compromises across all feature modification areas the end product turns out somewhat significantly different than the original.
Perhaps i'll have a play around with the Toolset Character (morph) Creator and see if any further improvements can be made.

I tried this once, and it was a spectacular failure. Plus it was actually quite creepy seeing my face in the game. I vowed never to try again! haha

Yeah, there's just not enough options to create all the subtle changes required that really defines all our individual faces, well that's the excuse i'm holding onto anyways.  Heh and i agree with you on the creepiness. I didn't even start a game with this character, it was purely just an experiment.

The character I am using now was supposed to be me. I ended up using my face as "inspiration" more than anything and decided to run with the idea of it than stick to it. As such, in-game me looks nothing like IRL me XP

It is hard on the CC; I have yet to give it a go on the toolset.

No, the avatar you see now only has the same eyes, to bad the game does not have afro hair then I could make myself.

Yes.

Looks quite a bit like me, although my eyes are slightly larger, my nosetip is rounder, and he has spent a lot more time at the gym than I have. (The Circle Tower's facilities must be quite effective)

Oh, and I couldn't give him my sideburns, because, as you know, sideburns and beards make instant zombie cheeks...

Tried and failed. My DA character looks more like (40th Day) Elliot Salem than myself.

I always strive to get it as close as possible..couldn't find an appropriate shot, so I stuck in a few photos :)

I made a mistake with the cheek bones on this one..,.although the char creator is full of options, I still felt limited with what I could design

Thanks Schratty, it was the best I could do with the in game tools.

Loria she doesn't look like a lesbian, to me she looks Taiwanese.

ummm, it's not like I'm in the nude or anything; everything is covered up. the picture was to show why I'd pick a dwarf over a human or an elf..I just don't fit the bodyshape.
